When you go places you need to keep an open mind. I watched the corruption mgm should be advised on what is really happening here! Liquor bring shipped does not reach the shelves. Half the time there was no rum and the rest of the time there was limited cerveza, cola and snacks People had to beg for bread. This really put into perspective what is happening to the cuban people. The front desk bar staff and entertainers still smile and do their best to make people happy and comfortable. What is not comfortable is water or whatever is leaking all over the first floor hallways. Walls falling when you close doors the sheets don't get washed in 10 days and you have to ask for clean towels. We used shampoo to wash the shower and mold before using it. There was no rum but if you wanted to purchase it there was plenty. Bugs all over the coffee bar that resembled maggots I mentioned it to the bar staff and they just wiped them onto the floor. We spoke with many people that were at other resorts and the cost was comparable. So this is not because of budget. The beach is beautiful. I did not go with high expectations. But the building should be shut down and mgm needs to get some secret guests in there to see for themselves the that the liquor coming in is stored in a back room the guests dont see it. But the gift shop had plenty of liquor? None at the bar though. I feel bad for the staff trying to navigate such a brutal environment. I wasn't to bothered because I brought my own liquor and purchased my own mix in my travel mug. I will return to cuba but not muthu. I picked muthu because it's run by mgm they should be embarrassed. Not to mention the living conditions of the staff. They are in a building with electrical wiring hanging from the room. No ceiling as the walls and ceiling fallen down. These people don't even get a sheet to sleep on. I have been many places and never seen anything like this. Couldn't ever air out the mold smell In the room because of mosquitos which is out of their control. At least we had raid. Very disappointed in the condition of a resort that has so much potential. To the staff keep smiling that's the only thing that made the 10 days bearable.mgm you can do better ! The pictures are real what you see when you get into the accommodations is another story. Some canadian friends were lucky the wall that fell missed them.

We stayed here from March 19-30, 2024. We had an amazing time. If you go to Cuba with an open mind, you will have an amazing trip. The food is mediocre, you won't starve. Some days are surprisingly delicious, others are repetitive. You won't starve. The 4 flights to my room toned my legs, I didn't die. My boyfriend helped every single person he came across carry their luggage up the stairs, yes there are valets/bell hops but they are busy too. The back side of Building 1 is hot because it gets the sun from late morning straight through til it sets, we had AC and we rocked 24.5-27 every day and every night. Room was clean every day. We left toiletries and cash tip every for our housekeeper. 2L of water was left in our room every day. Sand was swept up, new towels. No issues with pool/beach towels, ever. We swapped out when needed. All of the guys in the towel shack are lovely. Entertainment guys are awesome. Beach security and life guards were all amazing. Beach was amazing, even with red flag the few mornings we had it, the sound was great and we read our books and dipped our toes in. The yellow flag is great fun to play in the water and never take your eyes off the waves coming lol. Big difference in temperature at the walkway, by the pool smoking hot, no wind. By the beach super windy and tolerable heat. BBQ joint for lunch every day! That is the place to be. Get to know the wait staff - they are great humans. Carlos at the main buffet is a treat, we sat in his section every day. Just a sweet man. WIFI was great but sometimes they weren't able to print new tickets with login and password in which case you don't get WIFI at all, you will live I promise, put your phone in your safe and continue on. No vodka, no gin, no lots of stuff. They have slushie drinks and beer and rum. The shack down my the beach has cans of Moosehead! The Cafe is amazing, they ran out of coffee a few times for a few hours each time, it was fine. Cappuccinos are great! Go into Varadero and eat at Varadero 60 - it will blow your mind. We went for our birthdays and were not disappointed

I wanna say really thank you to the animation team at this hotel. They are excellent employees. They put on amazing shows at the hotel every night. Especially, I wanna highlight Yohan, who was always glad to see us as guests, always smiled, asked how we were doing. Many thanks to him for his advice on visiting places in Varadero. Also, my friends and I went on a bike trip, which Yohan organized for us. We visited the beautiful forest and caves and were impressed. I wish Yohan and all the guys who worked and entertained us all day long success and happiness. And I wish prosperity to the hotel! The problem with the food and the strange working hours of the bars (every day at a different time) in the hotel leaves a bad impression, but we turned a blind eye to it and enjoyed our vacation! Wanna come back on this beautiful beach and the purest ocean!

At Muthu Playa Hotel, I had a great experience there. There are a lots of events throughout the day like salsa training and games. And at nights there are singing bands and salsa dancing while the band is playing, they also have a disco and big shows too at the hotel ect. I met a wonderful friend who works there his name is Osniel he's a very cool and respectful guy.

I had a wonderful recent trip at this resort! The hotel is very clean, staff are incredibly nice, and the beach is exceptional. Food was as to be expected, not too much choice but still very tasty. Entertainment was on point, they had something every night to keep it exciting and at different locations at the resort, either in the main lobby, near the pool or by the beach, which kept it interesting. Yohan from the entertainment staff was awesome, I'd definitely recommend his bike tour! All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and I would highly recommend!
