Sunshine Suites

The new rooms are very nice! Staff are helpful and friendly, and access to the Westin is wonderful! We came during the renovation so no pool, no restaurant, and they were still working on the rooms so things like weatherstripping were underway. Our room had on-and-off issues with having hot water, while our friends had issues with too-hot water. One night, the water was just off. We got upgraded, so our room was great, but our friends couldn’t open their kitchen cabinets while the bathroom door was closed (design flaw!). Housekeeping was good for us, but we didn’t get water each day and friends’ housekeeping was intermittent. I think it is a great option, but would wait until they are done with all the renovations.
The Grand Cayman vacation that should not have happened

Sunshine Suites Resort failure along with Westin! We tried booking at Sunshine Suites Resort like we do every time we vacation in grand cayman! You would think that repeat customers would be valued! That wasn’t the case this time. So after arriving in grand cayman on Sunday I drove over in the evening to talk to a manger on duty. I pull up and see that they are painting the buildings. Online all you see is it fully booked, but they could have said they were down for maintenance . I went inside the office and talk to a lady she was not a manager. I asked to speak with a manager to see if I could pay the daily fee that is included in the Sunshine Suites, because you are allowed to use the beach chairs and order food at the Westin. The Westin is a sister hotel. I came back again on Monday evening and spoke with a manager named Gill, he said there isn’t much he can do, even though I’m there repeat customers- zero loyalty from Sunshine Suites Resort ?? I gave Gill the manager my name and phone number. I was left hanging he didn’t call me back! I see on the island that the resorts are trying to stop people from using the beach. They charge 100CI for a chair . You come to Grand Cayman to enjoy the beach but there are forces at work that cater to the millionaires! We are not coming back to grand cayman, there are plenty of other beaches we can go to without the man made difficulties. Phil

We definitely liked the charm of this place, this is our 1st time here in Grand Cayman and we really enjoyed it, we'll be back. Easy access to the beach, and to many amenities. We will definitely stay here again at our next visit and enjoy the renovated suites. Thank you ??
Great value accommodation

The Sunshine suites are great value for money. At first glance they are tired and in need of an upgrade, which is happening soon. The bed is comfy, and the shower is ok (can go hot and cold), air con is good but noisy but the staff are so nice, especially in the Sunshine grill. Breakfast is really good which we had six out of our seven days there. The good thing about this accommodation is, you can get use of the Westin (across the road) facilities and beach area, which we did! Amazing place, and so central. We will visit again.
The best little hotel out there!

My partner and I spent 5 days at Sunshine Suites end of January, beginning of February. This probably has been our 5th, 6th or 7th stay there and the hotel never disappoints. They presently are in the process of renovation and I very much look forward to returning when done. I can't begin to praise the staff enough....everyone working in the grill, Louise, Keith, Joanna...each and everyone of them always giving the best service you could ever imagine to get. And then, Gill Honey, Front Office Manager, simply the very best. He went far beyond the call of duty to help me in my dire need. Sunshine Suites...not fancy but my home away from home.
