I chose this hotel because of the moderate price and a short walk to the beach with privileges at the the Westin hotel including the gym, beach chairs, pool, etc. The Sunshine was still undergoing renovations so their restaurant and gym were not open. There are several restaurants and a liquor store very close by and many more restaurants about 1/2-3/4 miles away. Our studio room on the third floor (there are elevators) was newly renovated and very clean and cheerful. The bathroom and shower were very nice. While I was initially looking forward to taking advantage of the upscale facilities at the sister Westin Hotel across the street, I ended up preferring to relax at the Sunshine's pool. It was quiet and there were only a few people there at any time. The Westin was always super crowded and noisy, but I imagine some people prefer that! I usually love spending time at the gym but the Westin's was small, crowded, and not well maintained, so I only went once. There is a spa, which for some reason is on the completely opposite side of the resort from the gym. The women's private spa area was lovely with a sauna, steam, and large hot tub. 7 mile beach is wonderful for walking, swimming, or lounging. The only thing we missed at the Sunshine was a private terrace. The building is motel style where the room entrance is off an exterior walkway.

Great but not perfect. Few flaws but nothing to stop us from coming back.

We enjoyed The Sunshine Hotel and Suites. The renovation is very nice -- all new rooms/suites, spotless, and superb staff. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, across from the Westin, offering use of the Westin beach and facilities. It was great having a kitchenette to make quick breakfasts and it's just a 10-minute walk to the market. Eats cafe just around the corner is also affordable and great tasting and offers 3 meals a day & carryout. The hotel grounds are lovely and quiet and will be even better when the restaurant renovation is complete. Highly recommend for couples, friends, and families. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed at the Sunshine for 6 nights, and this was our 2nd time there. The resort just had a major facelift both outside and in the rooms. Originally we had a basic room in the building next to an apartment complex. It had no view and the bed which was supposed to be a king was an American queen. After voicing our disappointment at the from desk they moved us to the second building on the 3rd floor (top) which was much larger and the bed also appeared to be larger. We received two free drink coupons to use at the pool bar only to find out they were for regular fruit punch, which was kind of disappointing and ridiculous. While staying there you do get full use of the Westin resort which is only a 5 minute walk across the street. Also be aware that after the renovation the hot water in the shower was hit or miss. I stayed at Sunshine while on a scuba diving trip to Cayman Islands. This was on of the cheapest hotels I could find. It is a nice hotel. the rooms were clean, the air conditioning was great and the bed was comfortable. Guests staying here can use the wyndham resort facilities across the street which was great. the beach there is beautiful.
