No complaints from us!

We enjoyed our stay here! We have zero complaints. I believe we had a Bay View Studio room. We had 2 queen beds, a kitchenette area with counter/stools, sink, microwave, mini fridge. It was very spacious for our family of 4 (2 small children). Everything was clean. Housekeepers made the beds and picked up every day. What a treat nowadays! We will 100% stay here again if we are ever back in the area. We didn't spend much time in the resort aside from sleeping - but we did swim one afternoon. The pool starts at 3 1/2 feet (maybe shallower than that - can't remember) and gradually gets deeper. It worked great for our kids.
Friendly Staff and Good Food, but Rooms Need Updating

I stayed at the Bahia Resort Hotel and overall had an average experience. The location was fine, but it’s on Mission Bay rather than a scenic ocean beach. It was walkable to the bay, the beach, some restaurants, and shops, which was convenient. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the Dockside restaurant was very good and one of the highlights of our stay. The hot tub was large and enjoyable, though the chlorine levels seemed quite high and ended up bleaching our swimsuits. The double queen garden-view rooms were dark and quite small, with limited lighting. The resort itself felt dated and showed its age. However, the rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Our group of 12 was visiting for my mom’s 80th birthday and I asked about using a small private room for dinner and to show a short slideshow. The $100 room fee seemed reasonable, but an additional $300 charge just to use the TV felt excessive, so I decided not to book the space. This really put me off since we we paying for 5 rooms for 4 nights and the rooms were not being used. I just felt that this should have been a no cost thing. Another positive note was the suite (which a family of 4 in our group occupied) was very large and spacious. It had a large living area, large bathroom, and a separated bedroom with two queens. Our group was able to gather comfortably and watch the slideshow there. Overall, the Bahia offers friendly staff and good dining, but the dated and small garden rooms, average location, and extra fees kept this from being more than a 3-star stay.
