Festive Family trip

Lovely hotel in a great location with wonderful staff so willing to make our stay memorable. The standard of housekeeping in our rooms was 10/10 but elsewhere in the hotel cleanliness could have been better…notably overflowing bins by the lifts which were becoming smelly. The New Year’s Eve arrangements were really annoying and far too expensive . The fireworks were great and visible from our ocean front room. The beach bar frequently didn’t have the full menu available and not all the food was good quality. I’d have enjoyed more fruit at breakfast time. In a week there was pineapple only twice and bananas only twice. Might have been nice to have more variety considering all the fruits grown locally. All in all though we weren’t disappointed to return 12 years after our first visit. Highlights for us are the beach front, pool area, helpful staff, comfortable and spacious bedroom. I’d strongly recommend paying extra for ocean view. The view on the other side does take in the Garrison but is mainly some kind of decommissioned oil storage plant.

As usual we have the best time on NYE … food, drinks, party and fireworks were brilliant! Congratulations to them for putting on such a fabulous event.
Great place for short stay

We stayed here for 2 nights before our cruise and despite many negative reviews we were very happy with our decision. Check in and out was quick and easy and staff welcoming. Our deluxe sea view room was not luxurious but was roomy and provided everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed the beach bar food and atmosphere and there was no shortage of sun beds at any time. It was an easy walk to Pebbles beach which was a lovely spot. All in all, and despite the £500 a night price tag we were happy with our stay and would return again if only for just a night or two
Poor service at reception

Poor service at reception. Waiting for ever. No priority for rewards members. Building looks rundown and we paid $1000 US Per night
Overpriced and underserved

The one (and only) thing this property has going for it is the location. Jaw-dropping ocean views at the confluence of the South Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Pick an ocean view room and be treated to stunning vistas any time of the day. Check out the pics to see what I mean. The biggest problem with this place is that it seems to employ the most callous and laziest staff I have seen in any property worldwide. It takes 30 minutes on average for the hostess to seat you for a meal, even when the restaurant has loads of empty tables. You need to ask at least 3-4 times before they serve you a hot beverage or water at breakfast. The breakfast itself was highly underwhelming and definitely not worth the USD 31 they charge. The housekeeping staff is no different. On my first day here they did not bother to clean our room and on the second day I had to ask them no less than 4 times before someone showed up at our room with a lot of reluctance and diffidence. Everyone is lazy, indifferent and does not seem to care. While I type up this review, I am still waiting for the housekeeping staff to show up and do me the favour of cleaning up my room! For a country that depends on tourism for its livelihood, how does one even begin explaining this attitude? Not to mention the eye-watering USD 900+ per night I paid for my "Premium Ocean View room" !!! The management at Hilton - if you are reading this - the guest experience at your "resort" in Barbados is anything but "Premium". What a rip-off.
