Service and quality has gone downhill
Asha P (New York City, New York) on Jan 28, 2026
This was my second time staying at this resort. The first time was in 2019 before Covid and the service was top anotch. That was not the case this time around. Everything from service, entertainment to hospitality went down hill. Food was okay, nothing special, staff were not always pleasant. Limited entertainment, after dinner there was nothing to do! I remember in 2019 there were themed shows nightly, and multiple bars in the resort to have a drink or go dancing. I was very, very disappointed with my experience and will not be returning to this resort. The experience was not worth the price.
Best birthday ever

It was my 50th birthday getaway. I booked a king room with an ocean view. When we arrived we checked in. They confirmed the room. When we get upstairs to the room. We enter and it has two queen beds. Didn’t look as pictured. I contacted my travel agent about the room. It was a huge room. He messaged me back and said they gave me a free upgrade to the jr suite. They wanted to do a king but it wasn’t available. That was the best birthday gift ever!!!! The next night there was a knock at the door. It was a bottle of wine two glasses and a slice of cake with a birthday card. As soon as there back up and running next year I will definitely be going back.
Glad we chose Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, we will book there again. Pray for Jamaica.

We arrived about a week before hurricane Melissa and got stranded there. Great facility and staff helped us survive, and continued to provide the best services they could offer during that time. I give two thumbs up to this resort and the Hyatt Corporation.
A Stay I’ll Never Forget — Survived Hurricane Melissa at Hyatt Zilara/Ziva Montego Bay ????

I visited Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay in late October 2025 for what was meant to be a short four-day getaway. Just two days after we arrived, Hurricane Melissa rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm, forcing all flights to be canceled and leaving us stranded for 11 days. Even in the midst of chaos, the Hyatt Zilara team demonstrated true leadership, compassion, and professionalism. General Manager Adrian Whitehead and his staff communicated updates clearly, prioritized guest safety, and worked tirelessly to restore services. Although we temporarily lost Wi-Fi, running water, and air conditioning, Wi-Fi was restored within 24 hours and water within 48–72 hours. Throughout it all, we were continuously provided hot Jamaican meals, drinks, and entertainment to keep guests calm and comfortable. What stood out most was the resilience and kindness of the staff. Though ALL staff was wonderful, I want to give special thanks to employees like Callela, Unique, Seanah, and Ro who continued to serve guests with smiles, even while facing uncertainty about their own families and homes. Their warmth and grace truly embodied the spirit of Jamaica. Once travel resumed, the hotel arranged safe transportation for us to Kingston, nearly three hours away, so we could finally fly home. Hyatt’s coordination and support during such a stressful time made all the difference. I am deeply grateful for the care and humanity shown by everyone at Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall. They turned a frightening experience into a reminder of what hospitality really means. If I ever return to Jamaica, this is the only place I’ll stay. ??????
Loved the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall!

My wife and I just visited the Hyatt Zilara/Ziva property in October, right before the hurricane. We were there one week prior to Hurricane Melissa, and will talk about the great experiences that we had, and the beauty of the property. I really enjoyed the 2 in 1 feeling of this property as we stayed in the Zilara side in a swim up junior suite but had access to the Ziva side as well. Most of the food was on the Ziva side anyways which wasn’t a problem for us. Everything about the resort, including the people, the vibes, the atmosphere and beauty of the island, was truly spectacular. Donjay at the pool bar held it down, kept the party going. Sharon and Tanieka at the Zen Spa gave us the best couples massage we’ve ever had. Sharon gave us a great price (special deal) for the Pimento Bamboo massage, which my wife and I would both highly recommend. The spa itself was also beautiful. We went parasailing as well right off our resort for a great price. The food I would rate about 9/10 overall. Plenty of options are available. Two nights before our departure, the whole building that our room was in lost AC. We received a note under our door stating the air would be out and take 48 hours to restore. We received a call shortly thereafter from Kay, Director of Relations for Hyatt who was able to offer us another swim up room, ready for us to check into right away, along with resort credit for the inconvenience and a refund on the difference in room rates, as we would be downgrading from a swim up junior suite to a swim up king room. It was no inconvenience for us, really, but the resort staff was very helpful during this time. We know that the property just underwent some damage from Hurricane Melissa. We pray for those workers and people of Jamaica. They have the best spirit and did a great job during the hurricane as we followed along on social media. We were happy to see the resilience of the Jamaican people and how they tried to make light during the darkness. Hyatt Zilara and Ziva Rose Hall will forever be loved and we are excited to come back in the future!
