We normally do not take the time to write a review but this was such an exceptional trip. The first day we arrived we were greeted immediately and taken to the reception area where we were treated 1st class. We asked for an upgrade and the personnel at the counter were extremely accommodating. During the 1st evening we met an employee “Saul” who manages the entertainment. He was so helpful walking us around the property and showing us where the restaurants were located. Throughout the week he helped us with so many things that were not in his job description but his consistent message was he was here to help! He helped make this trip an incredible vacation. We also decided to pay for the Hyatt Club upgrade which we were pleased with. Every morning Wilin, who was actually security, helped us get set up around the pool, again, not his responsibility but he did it with a big smile. Jose the club bartender and Jose the club pool area attendant were also super gracious. We ate at the Club Shutters restaurant several times. Our waiter, Bryon, was exceptional and Chef Enoc even came out to make sure everything was prepared to our liking. The manager also stopped by to check on us. The food was amazing at all the restaurants and so much variety. We always had plenty to choose from. The gym is the best gym we have ever experienced and we travel the world. The gym instructors, Fendi and Jose’ were great! At the pool, Dio and Manuel did a great job with activities in and out of the pool. My favorite activity was the “Make and Take” at 3:30 everyday. Leon was great here. I can’t say enough about the staff at this facility. One of the manager upfront walked to the Ziva cafe shop just to get me pistachio ice cream. I insisted I went with her of course. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. Even Darling, the Rooms Division Manager took time out of her day to see how our trip was going. We could really kick back and relax. We did not have to worry about dinner reservations or anything. We were originally scheduled to stay six nights and we extended to nine. We are already planning to return next year.
Service and quality has gone downhill

This was my second time staying at this resort. The first time was in 2019 before Covid and the service was top anotch. That was not the case this time around. Everything from service, entertainment to hospitality went down hill. Food was okay, nothing special, staff were not always pleasant. Limited entertainment, after dinner there was nothing to do! I remember in 2019 there were themed shows nightly, and multiple bars in the resort to have a drink or go dancing. I was very, very disappointed with my experience and will not be returning to this resort. The experience was not worth the price.
Best birthday ever

It was my 50th birthday getaway. I booked a king room with an ocean view. When we arrived we checked in. They confirmed the room. When we get upstairs to the room. We enter and it has two queen beds. Didn’t look as pictured. I contacted my travel agent about the room. It was a huge room. He messaged me back and said they gave me a free upgrade to the jr suite. They wanted to do a king but it wasn’t available. That was the best birthday gift ever!!!! The next night there was a knock at the door. It was a bottle of wine two glasses and a slice of cake with a birthday card. As soon as there back up and running next year I will definitely be going back.
Glad we chose Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, we will book there again. Pray for Jamaica.

We arrived about a week before hurricane Melissa and got stranded there. Great facility and staff helped us survive, and continued to provide the best services they could offer during that time. I give two thumbs up to this resort and the Hyatt Corporation.
A Stay I’ll Never Forget — Survived Hurricane Melissa at Hyatt Zilara/Ziva Montego Bay ????

I visited Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay in late October 2025 for what was meant to be a short four-day getaway. Just two days after we arrived, Hurricane Melissa rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm, forcing all flights to be canceled and leaving us stranded for 11 days. Even in the midst of chaos, the Hyatt Zilara team demonstrated true leadership, compassion, and professionalism. General Manager Adrian Whitehead and his staff communicated updates clearly, prioritized guest safety, and worked tirelessly to restore services. Although we temporarily lost Wi-Fi, running water, and air conditioning, Wi-Fi was restored within 24 hours and water within 48–72 hours. Throughout it all, we were continuously provided hot Jamaican meals, drinks, and entertainment to keep guests calm and comfortable. What stood out most was the resilience and kindness of the staff. Though ALL staff was wonderful, I want to give special thanks to employees like Callela, Unique, Seanah, and Ro who continued to serve guests with smiles, even while facing uncertainty about their own families and homes. Their warmth and grace truly embodied the spirit of Jamaica. Once travel resumed, the hotel arranged safe transportation for us to Kingston, nearly three hours away, so we could finally fly home. Hyatt’s coordination and support during such a stressful time made all the difference. I am deeply grateful for the care and humanity shown by everyone at Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall. They turned a frightening experience into a reminder of what hospitality really means. If I ever return to Jamaica, this is the only place I’ll stay. ??????
