Nice place but stay was disappointing

Spent a lot of times wandering around… The staff was too busy to help you, which is understandable considering the size… Restaurants were full and prices were outrageous… I think you could probably stay somewhere in the surrounding area and maybe visit Opryland with someone who’s been there who could safely guide you around… I had people asking me where their room was and wandering in circles… They need to have staff on hand to assist people in navigating this facility
Lovely holiday experience

We just departed from a December 30-January 2 stay with our family of 5. We had a great time! The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the atriums and indoor grounds were breathtaking, and the water park was more enjoyable than expected. We would give out stay 5/5…except for the food options and prices, and the prices for the Christmas activities. The restaurants all had 2 hour waits unless you booked reservations days, if not weeks, in advance, and the alternative options were pizza and burgers, also with long lines and high prices. We only located one place where we could get a salad, sandwiches, fruit or yogurt, and the selections were quite limited and pricey. We did walk over to Opry Mills mall which had options, also with exceptionally long lines. Our visit was during a peak time, so the food issues are not entirely the fault of the resort. The paid Christmas activities were fun, but expensive. The price does keep the crowds at a minimum, so there’s that! There are plenty of Christmas-themed things to see that are free, and the decorations are everything we expected and more. The New Year’s Eve event was free and a fun time. The water park is smaller than the Kalaharis, but clean, well planned and enjoyable. The adults-only swim and bar area was great! The boat ride is a must-do, and we all enjoyed exploring the paths, bridges, waterfalls, plants, fish and fountains - - truly breathtaking. I did trip on an uneven sidewalk outside, fell and scraped myself up pretty well. I am notoriously clumsy, so I say this not as a complaint but as an advisory to the less-than-graceful like myself. Overall a beautiful hotel and great experience for us all. I would highly recommend anyone to come visit at least once, even if just to walk around the nine acres of botanical beauty.
Beautiful Resort, but Crowds Impact the Overall Experience

Gaylord Opryland is a stunning and very clean property. The indoor gardens and waterfalls are impressive, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into maintaining the resort. The Falls lounge was a nice place to relax with a drink and enjoy live music, when a table was available — though seating there could be difficult to find at times. The resort does feel challenged by the sheer number of guests. There are not enough restaurants to accommodate everyone comfortably. Sit-down restaurants frequently had wait times of an hour or more, and quick-service dining also had long lines during peak periods. Seating for quick-service meals was extremely limited, which was surprising given the amount of open space throughout the resort. Navigation can also be difficult. The resort is massive, the map app wasn’t very helpful, and signage or staff stationed to assist with directions would be a big improvement, especially for first-time visitors. Costs are another factor to consider. Between the $30 nightly resort fee and $37 daily self-parking — which still made it difficult to find a decent parking spot — expenses added up quickly. Dining prices were high as well. At Cascades, we spent about $100 on dinner for two and found the portions small for the cost. Breakfast was also difficult to get during typical morning hours without a long wait. The resort is very family-oriented, with kids everywhere. While that works well for families, it does impact the ability to relax in certain areas. Kids were allowed in the hot tub, making it less relaxing. Also, photo-op stations placed in main walkways frequently caused traffic congestion, particularly from the C2 elevators into the Cascades area. The Christmas activities were very much geared to families with children. Lastly, while there are benches along the paths, there are very few comfortable places to simply sit and relax outside of guest rooms or the main lobby, which can be busy and loud. Adding more lounge-style seating or additional tables and chairs throughout the property would make it much easier to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Overall, Gaylord Opryland is visually impressive, but crowd levels, limited seating, and dining capacity can detract from the experience, particularly during busy times.
Terrible experience

We were put in a room that had construction going on right outside our window starting at 7am each morning. Excavator operators and hard hat workers had full view into our window if we opened our curtains. The noise was maddening! The manager moved us to a different room and promised us a bottle of campaign for our troubles and to celebrate the new year but neglected to send it up. We called and they refused to send one. We took the hotel shuttle to Marathon motor warehouse to catch the trolley and it neglected to pick us back up at the scheduled 5pm pick up time. We had to uber back to the resort and the concierge refused to reimburse us. Be careful booking through the website because it forwards you to a third party agent that charges extra deceptive fees. Therefore the hotel is not responsible or obligated to make edits or changes.
Will not be returning and do not recommend

Horrible stay. So busy absolutely everywhere. Room is extremely old, stains everywhere. Bath is discusting and coffee machine in room broken. Went to tell reception but everytime there was a 20min queue to even speak to someone. Can’t get a table to eat anywhere in the hotel. Can’t book into the waterpark as sold out. They have one swimming pool for guests which is free and it is dirty and no room to even sit as it’s not big enough for the amount of people in the hotel and anyone can walk in there. There is nothing in the hotel to do unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount of money. The inside is gorgeous to look at but you are better off staying somewhere else and walking to look around for the day. Cashless place - something to be aware off and don’t book unless your prepared to spend a fortune to keep the kids busy. Would not recommend and will most definitely never stay again.
