Great value for the location and amenities
Dawn P (Carmichael, California) on Dec 16, 2025
The location of the Desert Palms Hotel in relation to Disneyland was excellent, less than a 15 minute walk to the main entrance, and only crossing one street to get there! The staff was very helpful, and the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and offered a nice variety of options. We appreciated that the lobby was festive and very Disney. There was a play area tucked in on the side of the lobby for little ones and ongoing Disney movies. The are also provided seating for the parents. this place is a great value for the location and amenities. Also, 2 drug stores on other corners, and a 7/11 next door, which are all convenient.

Very clean hotel with nice amenities. Nice decor and comfortable beds. Easy walk to Disneyland, CA Adventure and Downtown Disney.
They over charge for parking.

They charge you for another full day of parking on the day of checkout instead of allowing parking till midnight. In case you are going to the parks on the day of checkout, be aware of this parking policy that i didn't appreciate.

The Best Hotel So Close to Disneyland for the Price!
Scott E (Vancouver, Washington) on Nov 26, 2025
I have stayed at most of the hotels near the Disneyland resort and somehow this was my first stay at the Dester Palms. It was very close, with only one street to cross on the way to the park and we felt safe at all times. There is a 7-11 on the corner which is convenient. There were one or two homeless in the store parking lot on occasion, which is to be expected. I read reviews giving the hotel poor marks because of a few homeless in the area, but anyone who travels to L.A. should expect to see a few homeless here or there. The ONLY way to stay in the area and not see homeless if to stay at one of the hotels on Disney property. That said, the hotel was clean and had plenty of nice touches, like the movie viewing area in the lobby for kids, a small store in the lobby, and a large refrigerator and microwave in the room. The window actually opened to let in outside air, which is very unusual. The rooms were modern and comfortable and quiet. we could hear the upstairs guests walking but not talking and we could not hear through the walls. Our daughter's family with young children stayed in the room next door and we never heard them. The hot tub was actually hot, and the pool was clean, with plenty of towels. The staff was super friendly and helpful and always seemed available to answer our questions. The one thing that made me give 4 instead of 5 stars was the breakfast, which was a full hot buffet, but a little sub-par. For the price, you will not find a better hotel this close to Disneyland.
