Absolutely the best resort we have been to in years. Staff was friendly, the pool workers were always ready to find us space and even brought us an extra umbrella. The food was fantastic! I have zero complaints. The beach was being worked on when we were there, so if you are a beach person, this place would not be for you.
Beautiful Resort but needs improvments to food

We went to Dreams Cap Cana on Dec 28th for a week. We took our adult children and 3 grandchildren under age 5. Overall, we had a good vacation. The resort is quite nice but there are opportunities for improvements. Here are the pros and cons of our experience. Check-In and Check-Out: Our travel agent had made a request 5 months in advance and then again one month prior. The request was for three adjacent rooms and cribs in two of the rooms and the set up of the sofa bed as we were arriving late. We got 2 of the 3 rooms and then 20 hours later were able to switch my daughter’s room to our building. What was most frustrating was that the cribs and sofa bed were not set up. They called while we were in the lobby to request the cribs. One crib arrived shortly to one room and the other took more than an hour along with sheets for the sofa bed. It was 1 am in the morning before two of the children were able to go to sleep. Also, unlike most hotels these days, you need to physically check out. The line was very busy and our transportation to the airport had to wait 20 min. I would suggest they communicate this process via a message to your room. Rooms: We had Preferred Club Jr Suite Swim Out with King Sofa Bed rooms. The room was very spacious, very modern and very clean. The kids loved that it had a shower and a separate bath tub. We were in rooms 3008/3009/3011 and they looked out to a green space. The swim outs do not connect to anything but our family enjoyed them. It was quite nice to hang out on the patios and swim when the little ones had an afternoon nap. The location is also fantastic. It’s a small resort which we loved and our rooms were so close to everything. Daily maid service was very good and our rooms were well maintained. It would have been nice for the timing to be more consistent. Sometimes our rooms were done in the morning and other times in the afternoon. Afternoon cleanings presented a challenge to both our children when their children were napping. Preferred/Bars/Pools: Preferred is worth it for the access to the preferred pool, bar and breakfast restaurant and better location of your room. Although it was the holidays and busy, we never waited long to get bar service. The bar tenders are all very friendly and very skilled at making drinks. The concierge service was nothing special. We asked multiple times to get reservations and she was unable to do that for us. All pools and the grounds are well maintained. Restaurants: Breakfast buffet and preferred restaurant for breakfast were both good. Coffee shop was excellent and is 24 hours. We did not go to the buffet for lunch as we were in swim suits. So, we often went to the grill near the beach for burgers etc. Menu is limited and it required at least a one hour wait each time which was frustrating for everyone. They need to have more resources and a better system at the Barefoot Grill. Dreams should also consider a casual beachfront restaurant (more food options) like most all-inclusive resorts have where you can sit with a beach cover up or grab and go. Dinner is an area that really needs drastic improvement. They say they do not take reservations unless you are a large party. We were 9 which included 3 children and we waited around one hour each night to get a table and then at least another hour for dinner to be served. The food is okay but we did not have any meal that we would say was excellent. Oke, the Asian restaurant was the best. Toura, the steak house was okay and service there was the quickest. Maravento, the Italian restaurant was okay but service was the longest. The News Years eve dinner was the most disappointing. Overall, food was below the level we have experienced at other resorts. Room Service takes about an hour and the food is just okay. Family friendly: Although there were not a lot of children, we were very impressed by the activities the resort offered each day. They have a lot of blow ups and do different ones each day. These included a water slide to obstacle course to jumping castle to an ATV course that our grandkids loved. One night there was even a blow-up riding bull that our 5-year-old loved. They have a childrens club but because two of our grandchildren are 2, we did not utilize. Our family also loved the fire and aerobics show on the beach. Beach: The beach is very limited but we knew this going in. You can sit on the beach and the kids played with pails and shoves. If you walk about 10 minutes to the left of the resort, you can swim without rocks. Overall, the resort is small, well maintained, our room was beautiful and the staff are very good. We had a great family vacation and enjoyed Dreams. However, improvements are required to the food and beach.
Good trip but nothing special

A very nice clean resort. Pools were great and drink were cold. The drink service was very inconsistent, each bartender did things differently and had different resources. Was looking for a English drink menu so I could try something new. The beach was not great unless you walked down past the pier. Restaurant service was slow, Italian restaurant specifically poor. Food on the resort was plentiful, but noting was exceptionally good. Entertainment was average. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially when tipped!
Exceptional Front Desk and Guest Experience

We had a wonderful experience overall. The customer service was excellent, and the quality of the drinks and the attentiveness of the staff truly stood out. Yudi at the front desk was especially helpful — she was professional, warm, and genuinely service-oriented. She went above and beyond to accommodate us, particularly after we informed her about our flight cancellation. Despite the inconvenience and stress of the situation, she remained calm, proactive, and attentive in finding solutions for us. The entire team made us feel welcome and well taken care of, and the high quality of the drinks and the friendly, efficient service added greatly to our enjoyment. We are very grateful for the support and kindness we received, and this experience left a very positive impression on us.
