DREAMS CAP CANA

I went to Dreams Cap Cana Resort with friends and we had such an amazing time. The staff were incredible—so welcoming and always making sure we were having fun. A special shoutout to my new bestie, Elian, who was always coming to find us to play games and made the experience even better.
Very nice all inclusive, good value and nice facilities.

We went to this resort on a school Senior Spring Break trip and it was very good. It really exceeded my expectations and was much nicer than any other school trip we have attended. I thought this hotel was nice enough for a family trip. The beach was pretty, pools were nice, our room and view were great. The value was reasonable. Drinks were good. Food was spotty - some places better than others. Generally, I had a very positive experience.
Amazing resort! Beautiful property, great service!

Our stay at Hyatt Cap Cana was nothing short of exceptional. The property is beautifully maintained, with immaculate grounds and spotless facilities that immediately make you feel at ease. From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their warmth and professionalism, everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. The food across the resort was consistently excellent, offering a wide variety of flavors and fresh options. The cocktails at the pool bar were a highlight, perfectly crafted and refreshing, making afternoons by the pool even more enjoyable. The standout dining experience, however, was at the Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was inviting, the dishes were outstanding, and our server, Felix, truly elevated the evening. His attentiveness, charm, and genuine care made us feel special, and his service was the best we experienced during our stay. Overall, Hyatt Cap Cana exceeded our expectations in every way. Clean, welcoming, delicious, and relaxing, it’s the kind of place you want to return to again and again. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable all-inclusive getaway in the Dominican Republic. 5 stars!
If This Is "Preferred" Treatment, I'd Hate To See Standard.

We stayed at Dreams Cap Cana from February 15–22 and it was, without question, the worst luxury resort experience we have had in over 25 years of travel. What makes it even more frustrating is that this was our first trip after purchasing an Unlimited Vacation Club membership. During the sales process we were promised priority treatment, upgraded service, and room upgrades when available. None of that happened. Arrival was chaotic with no greeting or direction. We were sent wandering around the property trying to locate the UVC office ourselves. We had booked three rooms for our group. We were told the resort was completely full and upgrades were impossible. However, after we complained about the condition of one of the rooms, a villa upgrade suddenly became available two hours later. The original room had urine on the toilet seat, hair on the floor and in the sink, spots on the sheets, dirty fixtures, and several maintenance issues. Even after moving rooms, the “upgraded” villa had a broken toilet seat that apparently went unreported by housekeeping. Service throughout the week was equally poor. Our concierge told us restaurant reservations were first-come-first-served and could not help us, leaving us waiting over two hours for dinner the first two nights. A pickleball reservation was never made. A follow-up request about dinner received an emoji response. Cleanliness around the resort was also concerning. We saw food floating in the pool, broken glass and empty drinkware left unattended, plates and food debris in common areas, and cigarette butts scattered around the property. Even checkout was disorganized. We were told a bellboy would collect luggage from all three rooms, but no one arrived. Two rooms had to carry their own luggage across the resort minutes before our transportation left. We invested significant money into the Unlimited Vacation Club expecting a luxury membership experience. Instead, we spent much of this vacation chasing down basic service and sanitation issues. Very disappointing, and not at all what we expected from a resort carrying the Dreams name. We have already reached out directly to resort management, Unlimited Vacation Club, and Hyatt regarding these concerns but have not yet received a response. Given the significant investment required for UVC membership and the reputation associated with the Dreams brand, we felt it was important to share our experience publicly so that others considering this resort or membership understand what we encountered. We would welcome the opportunity for Hyatt or UVC leadership to respond and explain how situations like this will be prevented in the future.
Good Beach Getaway with friends

We traveled to Dreams Cap Cana as friends for a girls trip getaway, and had a lovely time! We stayed as preferred members at this resort. Our butler, Gary, was fantastic! He was definitely a highlight of our experience! He was incredibly friendly and kind, and would encourage us to ask him for anything that needed done or taken care of and he was able to fulfill almost every request. He worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable! On the other hand, there are some suggestions we have to improve the overall experience for guests at this location. We have traveled to all inclusive resorts before and were surprised by the lack of service at the beach. There were employees down at the beach that would help set up chairs and cabanas but there was not bar or food service at the beach. This was inconvenient and surprising as the nearest bar was a bit of a walk. The beach bar was also lacking in choice as they did not have a blender at this bar location. This is inconsistent with experience we have had at similar resorts in the past. Staffing the beach with servers would be a welcome improvement to the beach experience. The beach also did not lend itself well to guests being able to get in the water, now, we understand geography has some to with this and the rocky coastline cannot be changed however, almost as soon as you are off property the beach clears up, we think some maintenance of the shore line, like management of the seaweed that washes ashore for example, would be beneficial. We love having an all inclusive package, to be able to eat and drink as we please throughout our trip. At this resort, the bar staff were unfortunately unfriendly. We brought along small bills to tip, and were almost never compelled to when getting drinks at a bar. They were very great about making drinks without alcohol when asked. It would also have been helpful to have drink menus at the bars as some offered things others didn’t and it would have provided helpful information. For lunch we would recommend the burgers at the barefoot grille (the chicken wasn’t our favorite) or the preferred club restaurant. There were plenty of food options for dinner, so we didn’t get try all of them but really enjoyed our meals at the Caribbean restaurant (our waiter was so much fun and really attentive!), the Italian restaurant and the steakhouse ( the portions were small, but the food was good). The first come first serve system was new for us as we are used to making reservations for dinner. It worked well when we could arrive before 6 and wait for opening, it did lend to a longer wait time the night we wanted take pictures with and watch the sunset and couldn’t get in line for dinner right away. Housekeeping service was the biggest inconsistency we noticed between this resort and others we’ve been to. Daily room cleaning was delayed and we had to ask for them to come each day-if this is policy it was not communicated to us anywhere. Communication about what to expect for daily room cleaning or having the crew visit midday automatically could be helpful. Also, the turndown service we received as part of purchased packaged was lackluster and after speaking with other guests was inconsistent across the resort. Some guests were getting cold water and chocolate by the bed while we had our bed made for us but no water or treat. The resort app is a really good idea, however, the fulfillment of requests made on the app was slow if at all. We requested a couple of things on the app that were never fulfilled. Thankfully we had Gary our amazing butler, who when we messaged him, had our requests fulfilled right away. Also, we booked a package that was said to come with perks, elevated turn down service, etc. We had to make requests for things that came with our package that we assumed would be taken care of for us. Along with this, the package claimed we would receive $200 in resort credit-and while we did receive technically $200 it was in coupons of specific amounts that could not be stacked on specific spa services. That felt slightly misleading, and clarity and transparency of what we would receive when we were booking could have helped remedy this situation. During our trip we did also get to spend some time at Secrets Cap Cana, the adults only all inclusive nearby. That resort is beautiful and we enjoyed the lunch and tour of the vacation membership that was supposed to include lunch in that time. We agreed to this so our only complaint here would be that we were gone from door to door for 3 hours. That is double the time they told us it would take. We did receive leisure cash vouchers that we could use in the gift stores or for charges to our room. Overall, we were grateful for a sunny beach getaway and were thrilled to have our butler, Gary, as a part of our vacation. We are hoping if we visit a Hyatt resort again in the future, we can rate the whole trip what we would give Gary right now-five stars.
