Disappointing

If you are a heavy smoker that doesn't mind bad food, then this resort is for you. The only reason we're not rating this one star is because we upgraded to the villas and we loved our room. Our number one issue was the food. It was not good at all. The steak house was okay and the Italian restaurant served us our best meal. Oolio, the designated restaurant for the premier level was average, but had very limited options and isn't open for dinner. The buffet is terrible! At first glance, it appears to have many options until you realize many of the stations are just repeats of other stations. The food is either under cooked or over cooked. I have celiac disease, so I purposely looked into gluten free options before we booked the trip. Upon arrival, we learned the gluten free options were minimal and not tasty. The resort doesn't enforce any of their policies, which lead to a number of issues. This is the first all inclusive resort we've gone to that didn't have bracelets or wrist bands. There's no need to spend money upgrading to the premier level as entry to premier services is never checked. We stayed in the villas and the pool in the villas is designated for villa rooms only. However, no one checks and without wristbands, guests from other areas of the hotel used the pool. Also, designated areas for smoking is not enforced at all. There were people smoking in the pools, on patios, at the bars, all over the resort. Those that smoke might enjoy that, but non smokers do not. One day in particular was really bad due to the resort not enforcing rules. We learned that on weekends, the resort opens to locals to use unbooked rooms. At the villas, only two guests are permitted per room. Some locals were occupying one of the swim out villas and people were coming and going from the patio into the pool all day. At one point, we counted 30 people gathered in the pool and on the patio. A couple of the people from that room even went over to the patio of the room next door and laid on their patio furniture. When the woman from that room asked them to please leave, 2 girls from the party room came over and cussed them out. That room, as well as many other guests in the villas reported the party to management. Instead of security asking the extra guests to leave, security sat at the pool outside the room all afternoon to watch them, but never asked any of the 28 extra guests to leave. With the exception of a handful of employees, overall we felt like the staff was unfriendly. We found two exceptional employees during our stay. Manny at the villas pool bar was incredible and Robert, the server at Oolio was also fantastic at his job. During our stay, the resort was having what we were told were "water issues." Twice the water to our room was turned off without warning. Crews were digging at many different sites on the property and the smell of sewage was strong during different points of our stay.

Girls Trip for a friends birthday ??

Our stay at Dreams Cap Cana was absolutely AMAZING from start to finish! The resort is beautiful, clean, luxurious, and the food and drinks were great. The staff truly made the experience unforgettable because everyone was so welcoming, attentive, and kind. A very special shoutout to Barbie, who went above and beyond during our stay. Her energy, professionalism, and kindness stood out so much and she made us feel genuinely welcomed every single day. She truly deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service and positive attitude! The pools, beach, entertainment, and overall atmosphere were incredible. This was definitely a trip to remember and I would absolutely recommend Dreams Cap Cana to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun luxury vacation in Punta Cana. Can’t wait to come back!

Punta Cana Ironman 70.3 at the Dreams Cana resort

We went to this resort because it was the resort host of the Ironman 70.3 Punta Cana Triathlon. we had a great time. rooms were great, the variaty of restaurants was good but the quality of the food particularly at the main Buffet was a little bit below expectation. still overall a great property.

Great Birthday Stay

My good friend and I stayed at Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa for my birthday and overall we had a really good time. We did the Preferred Club and I definitely think it’s worth it. It was also really cool being there during the Ironman event weekend. Seeing all the athletes come in and watching people participate in the triathlon was dope and added something extra to the trip. We met some really amazing people during our stay. Barbie from the entertainment team was so sweet and always had good energy. Alma at the concierge desk really took care of us the whole trip from check in until we left. She even decorated my room for me because it was my birthday. Also shoutout to Joan at the Preferred Club bar, he was a good time every day lol. The food wasn’t bad. My only suggestion would be more meat options for people who don’t eat beef or pork. Our main issue was the towels. We felt like we had to keep asking for them lol. We’re women, we take baths and showers throughout the day, so that part got a little frustrating. Other than that, we had a great birthday trip and I’d definitely recommend going with the Preferred Club option.
