How do I place a bid?

You'll see a quick tutorial that walks you through how bidding works. You can revisit it anytime during the auction by tapping the “?” icon in the bottom right corner.  

To place the bid, swipe the paddle up and choose one of three preset amounts. If you want to jump to the top of the leaderboard, tap the middle paddle. 

What is the starting bid?

The starting bid is the minimum amount required to join an auction. You’ll see it displayed when you enter. 

What is the final round?

When the timer runs out on the initial round, the final round begins. It lasts 90 seconds and includes only the top 10 bidders.  

In the final round, you can place one last bid of your choice. A calculator will show your total bid amount before you confirm. 

Can I cancel my bid?

No. Once submitted, bids can’t be cancelled during a live auction. 

Which forms of payment can I use to purchase an upgrade?

You can use any credit card as well as Apple and Google Pay. 

What happens if I change flights after placing a bid?

If you change your flight before the auction ends, your bid will be automatically canceled, and you won’t be charged.  

How are upgrade winners selected?

Upgrades are awarded to the highest bidders based on availability. 

Will I be charged if I don’t win?

No. You’re only charged if your bid wins.

Will I get a refund for extras I already paid for?

No. Prepaid options like seat selection or baggage fees are nonrefundable, even if you win an upgrade.

Will I be seated next to my travel companion?

We’ll do our best, but adjacent seating isn’t guaranteed with an upgrade.

How do I get my new boarding pass if I win?

Visit a WestJet agent at the airport to receive your updated boarding pass.
