Our trip to Sandals Grande Antigua was our very first introduction to the Sandals all-inclusive experience—and it’s one we’ll never forget. From the moment we landed, everything felt effortless. The resort shuttle was a huge relief after navigating the QR code process at the airport (tip: make sure you have Wi-Fi or cell service handy). Upon arrival, we were greeted with cool towels and warm smiles before being escorted to the Club Sandals lounge for check-in. From that point on, every day was filled with activities and events that kept us entertained and connected. That’s where we met our amazing friends for the week—Lynnique, Cassie, JuJu, and Junior. The Playmakers team truly made the experience special; they have incredible energy and even hidden talents if you take the time to get to know them. Lynn greeted us by name each time she saw us, Cassie crocheted me the sweetest souvenirs, JuJu sang our friend Happy Birthday, and Junior hopped in the pool to play pool volleyball with us in his uniform. They are dedicated to their jobs and giving their guests an unforgettable experience. One of the most unforgettable moments of our stay was getting engaged! The Playmakers celebrated with us as if they had known us forever, and their genuine excitement made the moment even more magical. We stayed in newly renovated rooms that were serviced several times a day. We had fresh towels for every shower and a clean room to come back to every evening. A little tip: sleep with your blackout curtains open—you’ll wake up to the breathtaking island sunlight streaming in. The resort itself was quiet and not terribly busy during our stay. The food was delicious, the drinks were endless, and every day felt like paradise. A special shout-out to Joy, the best bartender ever, who gave us a reason to visit "Joy’s Pool" daily. We missed her dearly on her day off! This trip was so incredible that we booked our next Sandals vacation before we even left. The process was quick and easy, and we can’t wait to create more memories. Sandals Grande Antigua gave us an experience we’ll cherish for a lifetime.

BEAUTIFUL location and facilities, very quiet and peaceful. Room was just as nice as the photos. Mixed drinks were a miss every time but their wine was delicious and always available to compliment any meal. Dining options were difficult to catch when open or available-- Had to carry paper handout to reference the days open/hours. Portions were small but unlimited; simple flavors without bold seasoning. Excursion desk folks were pleasant and helpful without being overbearing in sales. Highly recommend Rock Adventures Clear Kayak with Snorkeling due to expert staff, outstanding experience, reasonable price; Loved every minute. Spa services were divine; lavender massage done by Giflare was absolutely perfect. The parrot manager, Alberto, was friendly and allowed us to interact with birds.

We are long time Sandals customers, and have just returned to Sandals Antigua after a few years break, the resort is much improved under the leadership of David the General Manager, there are many shining personalities that have contributed to making us feel very welcome, Andi from Loyalty and Travel, Kellyn Culinary Desk, Kim at Club Sandals but all of the staff deserve a thank you for their service.. The property is looking fabulously festive, and we can report that there are sun shades with most loungers around the pool, yes beach and pool chairs do get reserved early, but there is always a space somewhere, and plentiful pool towels.. the dining has been excellent and we like the little touch of small bites being offered when we had a wait for Mario’s.. We were lucky to have one of the refurbished rooms on the Caribbean side, and it was just beautiful, pastel shades and a bed the size of an aircraft carrier, modern bathroom. Entertainment at the resort is also much improved under the leadership of Junior, the evenings were a mix of local bands, singers, dancers, steel drums and other musicians..the pool Team kept us entertained withTrivia Quizes and music, as a couple of old dinosaurs we weren’t to keen on the song “Big Stinky Helicopter Flow Through The Air, and we might of been told one too many times how many birds were on Bob Marley’s doorstep, but the retro music, and the request hour we really enjoyed.. Think you can safely say we have enjoyed ourselves, so any one heading out here for the holidays, start get excited… we can’t wait to come back in February…

On the whole a great experience. Food was excellent and entertainment was good. Initially we were disappointed with the quality of our room which we thought was certainly not 5 star. The bathroom especially was poor. The shower curtain was not long enough to fit inside the bath, consequently when we showered the room got flooded with water. The main room needed updating, furniture was old and damaged. A couple we met had a similar room, which they complained about, they were given a better room in a better location on the resort. We chose not to complain, our fault, we are not the complaining type. The service from Club Sandals we found was lacking. At reception on arrival we were sat down, given a cocktail, then seconds later whisked away to our room, only had two sips of the cocktail. Apart from a visit from staff to deliver a Birthday Card and a bottle of fizzy wine for my wife we had no further contact with Club Sandals. We were not given a tour of the resort and any details of what was available on site, we had to find out ourselves. We saw lots of guests being given a tour of the resort during our staff, were we forgotten about? We only found the piano room, which was great, on the last two days of our holiday. We thought the service and attention from Club Sandals was poor, considering the amount of money we paid. We felt largely forgotten during our trip. On arrival we were asked if we were celebrating anything, which was odd as when we booked we explained it was my wife's 70th Birthday. Perhaps this information was not passed to the resort. In fact on our last night we spoke to other guests and they had receiveda hand delivered envelope with details of their check out times. When we got back to our room, no envelope for us. I went to reception and waited several minutes to be seen. The staff member seemed to think this was a joke, laughing the whole time. Rather than give us any printed information, he simply told me the time we were expected to be out of our room. As I said we enjoyed our stay at Sandals, but this was down to us rather than any service from Sandals Resort. Other than the guy on reception on our last night we found the staff, when approached, were very helpful and polite. We would love to use Sandals again, but during our stay no one approached us about booking any future trips, perhaps we were forgotten about...again.

We had an amazing time in Antigua. we really don’t have any complaints except for the fact that some of the staff did not want to be there. some were super sweet and others were super rude. but overall is was a great trip. Soy was our favorite! Kimonos was a great place. our server (samuel) and cook (jason) were the best. even the photographer desmond was amazing.
