Our overall experiences in 1/2025 compared to 1/2024 has not been as great. The level of services and convenient of access to restaurants had significantly gone worst. The hotel now requires reservations to access to majority of the restaurants even though when restaurants are not busy AT ALL, and they have more than 50% of their seats opened. It just doesn’t make sense! As an all inclusive resort, they should allow ppl to eat whenever at the convenience of customers’ time. Restaurants’ service is overall very slow, causing lots of time just to eat! We would highly recommend 1. Give people options to either make reservations for restaurants and allow open access to everyone. (Don’t make reservations as mandatory) This will maximize people’s vacation experiences! If the restaurant has seats, why not let people dine in! 2. Have shower gel available in the room. This supposedly to be a 5 stars hotel, therefore having shower gel available is important.

Great Property with excellent service and good restaurants. My older son had a great experience here a few years ago and we thought it would be a good idea to go again. The resort itself is excellent. We took the room with the swim up pool close to the beach on building 94. There were earlier reports of a smell in that location but the resort seems to have fixed them all. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and the overall cuisine is excellent. We tried Cusco, Habibi, Tavola, The circus etc and they were all excellent. The entertainment was good quality with some magic shows, dancing and a mexican wrestling show. The water park is for much younger kids. My kids are teenagers and the park isn't as impressive anymore for kids of that age. Some parts of the room look dated especially the mini kitchen but that didn't take away from the overall feel of the resort

Julio was great. He made the best drinks! Was very professional and personal. Very friendly! He always made us feel welcome and special. His area was always clean and spotless. He went out of his way to help us and give us the best experience.

The primary reason anyone visits La Rivera Mexicana is to relax on stunning tropical beaches. Unfortunately, the beaches at Moon Resorts were a huge disappointment—more reminiscent of a murky Florida swamp than the pristine paradise we are used to. If your idea of a great getaway is being confined to pools and luxurious lobbies, maybe this place is for you. Otherwise, I’d recommend steering clear of this resort.
