Star Class Adult Scene - avoid!

Pioneer31351579058 (Irlam, United Kingdom) on May 05, 2024

We stayed at the star class adult scene with an ocean view. I would not recommend the adult scene unless you want to party and drink at the pool all day. Our room overlooked the pool and all we could hear all day was the screaming and shouting from the pool. We stayed in the star class family side for most of our stay as it was a better atmosphere. The star class pool is mainly families so we used the star class area of the beach most of the time. Towards the end there was a lot of non star class people using the star class beach so you question why you pay the extra for star class. I agree with other reviews in that the food and service is very inconsistent- there was more bad service than good. Breakfast at Braza was terribly slow. The steakhouse ran out of steak during our visit! The sushi restaurant was the most consistent. Our butlers mainly just helped with some reservations, but we were often asked 2/3 times about a booking we had already requested. We therefore used what’s app to prove we had made the requests days earlier! We had an issue with our room and the butlers were not really able to help and we were able to resolve the issue to a better conclusion directly with the management. We stayed at the TRS Coral previously and had a far better experience. If going as a couple I would recommend the family side if partying 24/7 isn’t your thing.

Inconsistent experience

JDouglas426 (Northampton, United Kingdom) on May 04, 2024

Booked for a week in a star class room. Initial warm welcome and easy process to check in with bags taken to rooms and shown up via our assistant you get as a star class guest. There is a wow factor to the hotel and the room, with a bottle of bubbly supplied. The room was spacious and clean but several doors did not stay closed to cupboard and drawers were difficult to open and close. Having had a long travel day we decided to have an evening meal in the buffet, however the food spread was average and some hot food was cold. We tried all the restaurants on site over the week and there are very inconsistent experiences between them. A highlight was the Brazilian steakhouse with great service and beautifully cooked food served to you directly from skewers. However the Italian restaurant had long queues to be seated even with a reservation, small portion sizes unless you had a pizza and even then food again was like warm at best. Overall food is very hit and miss. Dependant on time you go and server. Service from staff overall was intermittent, even at the star class pool area. You could order a drink and you could be waiting 2 or 20 mins for it to arrive sometimes if at all. As for our star class assistant, although friendly and seemingly happy to help, the few things that we did ask for never materialised. Even small things like a couple of extra soft drinks being sent to the room during the day. The assistant was more than happy to help book us a romantic meal on the beach but once they found we weren’t interested in purchasing any other additional extras it was a hello in the morning with little else. Although we did not do any excisions we did experience some of the nightly shows with the rock/glam night being one we looked forward to. Starting off with videos on the big screen from Aerosmith and AC/DC. Only for the actual show to start and then turning into a Michael Jackson show. It was fine just not what was expected and left a small downer on the evening. Overall the hotel is fine. Presents itself as a high end establishment but unfortunately lets itself down in a lot of the small details. Given that we paid for star class it did not feel like a star class experience. We went during our two birthdays with the only tangible benefit being a sash over the door which was left all week and less special for the 2nd birthday. The added advantages just aren’t worth the money unless you get a good assistant that can help take some little bonus extras. Inconsistent food and service is its biggest weakness point. A final point a lot of the services are done through an app. Which works ok. It’s where you book reservations for restaurants. But also lots of notifications to spend more money on additional things like spa treatments, wine, bubbly, experiences and excursions at least twice a day. This pressure also extends to whilst walking around the hotel during the day and in the evening outside restaurants. Which gets frustrating after a while. Tldr. Inconsistent service and food and star class extra not worth the money.

Planet Hollywood for the Win!

Big shout out to Elena at the Star Class pool. She was such a delight. Super friendly along with Cesar & Paulina her co-workers. They are a lot of fun and enjoy when you partake in the festivities. I recommend splurging on a private cabana at least once. So pampered with your private waiter and private pool. Star Class was worth it in my opinion. Edwar & Angel were our personal butlers and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay and if we wanted something they were prompt to get it for us. Was so nice having our own mini fridge that was re-stocked each day. Some days restocked better than others, but that’s where Edwar and Angel came in to make sure we had what we wanted. The rooms are a good size. Mattresses not too bad, but beds are on rollers and move easily. Maid service is not good. I had to have them come back as they didn’t clean well at all. We also got 1 hr free Hydrotherapy with our Star Class. What a relaxing treatment. I highly recommend it. The Teppanyaki restaurant was the favourite ~ make sure to make a reservation so you get the “show”. When we went again I tried the Vulcan roll Ahhh-mazing! I also had the Yakisoba and asked for it with shrimp which they happily did. Delicious. The Steak house was our least favourite as it had poor service and flavourless food. Sutra (Indian) was also very good and lots of flavour! Gustos (Italian) was delicious as well. Try the crepes at the buffet for breakfast with the Dulce de Leche. I’m craving it as I write this. Be prepared to wait for bacon as it goes quick. The fried rice station at the buffet in the evening is also very good. You get to choose all the veggies you want and choice between chicken and beef tastes better than some Chinese food restaurants! Fuel coffee bar is super fun. My boys loved the ice cream bar. I enjoyed the Cafe Lattes. They say it’s about 45 minutes from the airport. Took us 2 hrs. It was awful. I’m not sure if it was the time of day (rush hour 5pm) or our shuttle driver. Be prepared. The hotel is laid out very well. We were in room 22210. It was not a far walk for us to get to the restaurants, lobby, spa, etc. it was also quiet minus some screaming kids in the hallways every once in awhile not sure why parents allow that!?! The shows at night are fun ~ some better than others. It’s nice sitting with a glass of vino and relaxing while being entertained. The batting cage is also a lot of fun for kids and we paid for 1 hour of jumping at the trampoline park (nice to get out of the heat). All in all it was an enjoyable trip and we were very happy with our stay at Planet Hollywood!

The best beach and views

Mrbeen123 on May 03, 2024

We came from New York with the family and most of the time we were enjoying the beach where everyone was very kind to us even when we had a problem with the umbrellas they helped us very quickly although definitely the attitude of crazy Carlos, Paulina and Oscar with my children it was the best but maybe the drinks were a little strong for my taste but I definitely want to return as soon as I have the opportunity

Good resort with an adult only and family side.

Merpip2 on May 03, 2024

The resort is well maintained, pretty and clean. The restaurants at the resort are good! I loved the Indian restaurant and the Catch restaurant on the adult side. The pool and lazy river are fun. There are a good amount of beach chairs and pool side chairs. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
