Nice but….

203davee (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) on Jun 16, 2024

We have stayed many times in Z area before but this was a first time for Brisas. Let me say that during our 1 week stay, we only saw 1 other American couple. Everyone else were Mexican families. Nothing wrong with this and everyone was great, but just so you know. The staff usually spoke enough good English that we could get our point across but we did have problems at times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were dated and old. The pool had tile missing, etc. but it was nice and cool, refreshing water. The beach chairs were old and worn but plentiful. The main buffet was great (Bellavista) as was the beach bar and snack bar. The italian/Mediterranean restaurant was very good. everyone said the Mexican one wqsnt very good so we did not go to it. the rooms were ok qnd the ac just barely kept it cool enough. the lobby bar is beautiful and overlooks the ocean and great sunsets with great breezes. the private beach is nice but big waves. great sand. overall we enjoyed the stay bit probably would go back to our regular spots in La Ropa next time.

Vaca for two

maggie d (Mesquite, Nevada) on Jun 08, 2024

My wife and I visited for a total of of 9 fabulous days. The food in all of the restaurants was exceptional, especially her Birthday dinner in Portofino’s. Excellent service by the staff and sumptuous Lasagne and Beef Shank, cooked to perfection. We especially want to thank Julio in the Lobby Bar. He was knowledgeable of the area as we asked him an array of questions regarding the history and current information about Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Julio was gracious, respectful and exhibited a complete dedication to the customer experience! Also, Judith in housekeeping was very personable and a valuable employee. We had the most wonderful visit!

With pets ??

raulcaba (Mexico City, Mexico) on Jun 01, 2024

I travelled with my husband and pets as they are for emotional support (which one isn't?). In spite of the fact that it is not a pet friendly hotel, we were treated very well.

Apr 11 - 25 2024 Las Brisas Ixtapa

Pro's1) The staff was very good and pleasant. 2) The Italian ala-carte was decent but limited options.3) Solarium lunch buffet menu had better options than the main Bellavista buffet 4) The Beach Club was handy. The service provided by Azui and Aldo was great. This most likely kept things acceptable at this stay. 5) The beach and solarium managers were understanding when we had concerns about drink options. Cons 1) The main buffet / bellavista breakfast was mediocre but the diner menu was terrible every time and terrible service. We sat there 20min+ with no one coming by to offer a drink or anything else. 2) Our room was right by the Beach Club café so between 530 - 700 am every morning carts were moving up and down the hallway. This extremely noisy routine is something you can't sleep through. So for 15 days this was our alarm clock 3) Purchasing the beach club really means nothing here. The mini bar was not included, they didn't want to give us the better beer/liquor options at the beach, pool or main bar. It seems like this hotel has their hands out for every little thing we asked for. Where the Huatulco Las Brisas everything was included, great drink options and buffet. We've been there 2 times. 4) The main bar the mixed drinks were horrible. I went up to see what's going on, they were not pleased with me being at the bar, which means they have something to hide. The hard liquor was of the poorest quality possible mixed with flat old pop. I asked for the higher end brands but this was not included. They didn't want to give us plastic cups at the main bar to take back to the room and when they did we were supposed to bring the back. The concierge said this shouldn't be and they have plenty of cups. This was not an issue at the pool or beach. 5) The mexican ala-carte was very disappointing. They had some really nice options but wanted us to pay an additional $70 for my wife and I??? The Brisas II was not included/totally unacceptable prices so this leaves us with 1 ala-carte to choose from. 6) 90% of people staying here are local and it's very apparent that the staffs focus is the mexican families. The family groups are 5 or more so this is where the staffs demand/focus is. My wife and I paid $7200 peso/day for 2 weeks and it definitely wasn't worth it plus we always tipped. We were told the Las Brisas is going through changes but the owners are sacrificing quality to save a penny. This will drive people away and we won't be back
