Good hotel, good price

grumbekah on Oct 23, 2024

Stayed 3 nights in October for trip to Universal. Clean, roomy for a family of 5 and nice private space for me and my husband. Main cafeteria food was OK, bar was OK, pool was fine. No hot tub which was a bummer. We did some Uber and some bus transportation to Universal. We would Uber to Royal Pacific and walk over. $10 for Uber.

Autumn holiday at Dockside inn and suites

Globe T on Oct 23, 2024

We really loved our stay here and will probably stay again as long as they keep prices reasonable. The room was a nice size for 3 people. We had the extra bedroom and the dining/kitchen area. The kitchen could do with a toaster however you can take bread down to the main eating area and use the toasters there. Having now read other reviews it seems people have the same complaint as me though with regards to the room cleaning. I paid one of the staff members to come in and clean the floor because walking around in the room after a week left us with filthy socks or feet. Honestly this is the only thing that lets this hotel down is the housekeeping. No dusting, no hoovering and no mopping for 14 nights is quite poor. The only thing they did do on a regular basis was change the towels but never touched the sheets. We had to strip the bed ourselves after a week and take them out on the landing to ask for more clean bedding. If these little issues were sorted then it is a brilliant hotel to stay at and perfect for Universal parks with the shuttle buses every 5 to 10 minutes.

Check-in is a nightmare, trying to get an invoice after is just as bad

ksthaxton on Oct 22, 2024

I'd like to have given them a better rating but here I am waiting on hold with Reservations (exceeding 45mins now) after having given up on waiting for Guest Services, just to get a copy of my invoice that was promised to me 5 days ago. I've even tried emailing Guest Services twice now with no response. I'll have to contest the charge if they can't give me something in writing about what I paid. Additionally, check-in was a nightmare. We arrived shortly before the check-in time and had no idea where to park in order to do so. There were only a few spaces lining the circle out front that you'd be lucky to squeeze into. It took us a few laps to score one. Once we got inside we stood in line for 10mins before finally spotting a sign in the back corner for those who checked in online. We probably should have stayed in the regular line though, because the online check in line was quite long and there were only 2 representatives servicing it vs. the 4-5 in the regular line. It took forever to get through and when we finally make it up there and get our keys, the rep says we can drive over somewhere else to unload and park, never mentioning that we could access the tower through the lobby. So after holding all our luggage in line, we had to haul it all back out again. The whole process took so long that we missed our 5:45 anniversary dinner reservation at City Walk. We went out there anyway hoping to get in somewhere else but everything was booked up till 8:30pm. It was so frustrating that I cried on the bus back and we had to resort to eating in the hotel's cafeteria (expensive, sub par food with a sad atmosphere). You can see why I chose express check-out when offered, but that seems to be backfiring since I'm still fighting to get an invoice. Aside from that, the rooms are clean with good amenities, but I would have really liked carpet rather than tile everywhere. It made for chilly feet and having to hear the people upstairs walk around in heels and drop things continuously. All in all, I probably won't stay at another Disney resort. Not sure that early park admission is worth all the headaches it involves.

Thank you endless summer

Tramark (Wolverhampton, United Kingdom) on Oct 16, 2024

A wonderful couple of weeks at universal endless summer Dockside , we were located in Tower 1 . It’s a big hotel but didn’t feel crowded despite being full. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was perfect , microwave , coffee maker , fridge . They supply toiletries and towels. The pool was perfect , plenty of sunbeds, towels and 3 life guards on duty and there is a pool Bar serving drinks. The pier 8 cafe and Starbucks were great with lots of seating , we bought a resort mug and it paid for itself . Great location short walk to I Drive and both the red and green line Trolley routes were close. The icing on the cake for me was the transportation to universal theme parks from the hotel , we never had to wait for a bus they were brilliant . Thank you endless summer we will be back

New hotel near to universal studios

UK123_10 (Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom) on Oct 14, 2024

Newish hotel only being built 3 years or so ago. It’s a huge complex with approx 2,000 rooms over 2 tower blocks and as it’s new is immaculate and perfect location for universal studios. Free shuttle buses to and from universal and also volcano bay water park. Food hall is also nice and plenty of options to suit however isn’t the cheapest but nowhere is around this area and especially in the parks. Would return.
