False advertisement for a 2 bedroom room

im2tlkativ (Dublin, California) on Mar 01, 2026

I stayed with my daughter and 2 granddaughters at this locations for 4 nights. While the shuttle service to and from the amusement parks are very well organized, the hotel is very deceitful in how they advertise their rooms! We booked a 2 bedroom and it was NOT a 2 bedroom. It was like a half studio apartment with 2 beds and a small picnic table and a countertop with a microwave when you walk in the door. Then there is one bedroom with a door. How do they get away with calling that a 2 bedroom? No place to sit and watch tv, only beds. Then I tried to use the luggage storage service and stood in line with only 2 people in front of me for over 30 minutes. They only had one employee working that desk and he was a very grumpy and grouchy older man that was very rude so I walked away and I kept my luggage. When I left the line was at least 10 families and I felt so bad that they would have to wait for a long time before they could enjoy time with their family. Lastly, the walls are paper thin! I could hear people talking in the rooms on either side of ours and could hear every step anyone took in the room above us. I get this is one of Universal's budget hotels, but it's not worth the money.

Exactly what we needed.

Cinnamon A (Ogdensburg, New York) on Mar 01, 2026

Whether you plan to spend the day at the theme parks or the pool, this low-budget option offers you exactly what you need. Located just minutes from all of the Universal Theme Parks, the Dockside is a great choice if you are looking for a place to lay your head and recharge. Everything from parking to coffee in the morning while hurrying to your early-entry bus is convenient. The property is super-clean and the staff are friendly. We recommend this property without reservation.

Repulsive

Patrica M on Feb 27, 2026

The hotel lobby and communal area can only be described as feral, over run with unsupervised teenagers and tween, screaming, playing chase (including using the lifts for this) doing each others hair while barefoot inside the hotels main pier restaurant where people are trying to eat. Disgusting. On checking into our room the bathroom floor had the public hair and nail clippings of previous guests over the floor. Reported 3 separate times with photos and not resolved. Bags of other guests food waste left lying on the main hallway (literally chicken bones and chicken skin lying on the floor). The price is ridiculous compared to other hotels in the area which I can only assume is based on early park admission by one hour as the standard of this hotel would barely reach 1-2 stars. Can not put this more simply this hotel is a cesspool.

Group trip to Epic Universe

Oakpot (Toronto, Canada) on Feb 23, 2026

Hotel was chosen due to Epic park entry. Hotel very big, crowded lobby, long line ups for check in, Starbucks etc…. Rooms basic but clean, no where to hang clothes in main area of room unlike the second bedroom. No wardrobe. Not enough towels for four adults. We called room service and this was fixed only the first day. Second day again only enough for three adults. Fire Alarm went off middle of the night for about one and half hours. Reception called could do nothing about it. Room above at 4am sounded like an elephant in heels up and down. 6am. Hotel gets noisy due to everyone wanting to get to parks early. Long line ups at Starbucks. Didn’t use the restaurant. Crowded, kids running around, noisy, smelly, more like a basic canteen. Pool bar was good. Lots of shade and not much soon in the pool area. Coaches/buses for parks easy access and on time. Hotel bar was pretty good. Two nights at this hotel was enough.

Ok

solocationer (Las Vegas, Nevada) on Feb 22, 2026

The room seemed clean and there are power outlets by the beds. The light switch for the bathroom is controlled by the light switch at the front door which is weird and inconvenient if you're sharing the room with someone. All of the staff were really nice and helpful. There's a Starbucks in the lobby and on-site parking. It can be a very long walk from the lobby and/or the parking lot which isn't very convenient for ADA folks.
