This hotel is in major need of a renovation. Our room in block 11 was dated, appearance of mold in the shower. Just a very basic room. Food is blah ! Just ok, nothing fantastic. Customer service was good. Although, you wil not get bar service at your chair on the beach or at the pool.
PROS and CONS

We were at this resort from January 8-15. PROS: The Gourmet restaurant is the best à la cart. The beach restaurant during the day has great food options and better than the lobby buffet. Recommend the freshly made chicken tacos . The pool is beautiful with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Poolside entertainment was great. I did not travel with children, however they have many activities for children and a couple of smaller pools that are less deep for children. CONS: Staff never smiled or looked welcoming. The food at the buffet was always room temperature and never warm or hot. The only time I had hot food is when it was breakfast and I would have eggs cooked for me. The buffet was also consistently mis-labeled. I mentioned it to supervising staff for two days and then gave up. (Concern for anyone with allergies) ex: Fish was labelled as pork chops, a white creamy dish labelled as roasted potatoes, pork chops in a sauce labelled as chicken. Staff did not have any concern. Staff stood around doing nothing much of the time while people sitting at a tables are trying to get water or coffee. The beach was OK, however, there were jellyfish and puffer fish in the water every day. The lifeguard had a purple flag up to warn people. The pool had too much chemicals and inflamed my skin as well as other people. ??????
Great experience, would recommend.

Overall we had a very nice and comfortable experience. The food was great, there was a nice variety between the two buffets and restaurants. They really went all out for the Christmas Eve buffet. I loved the popsicles available at the buffet near the beach. Drinks were also amazing, we always had a pina coloda in hand! The rooms were comfortable but they could use a little update. The other family we were traveling with did not have a functioning air conditioning and no one came to fix it all week. The landscaping on site was beautiful and well maintained. Nice paths to walk around the resort. The water at the beach was not as clear and I would have liked and there was jellyfish in the water, but it was calm and warm and we were able to enjoy ourselves anyways. There were beautiful tall palm trees that provided a lot of shade. We were traveling with young kids and even though we kept busy at the beach and pool I would have liked something like a play-set to use. There was a small play-set at the kids club but it is behind a fence. The evening activities for kids started around 8pm which was a little too late for our family. The resort is pretty secluded and situated within a new gated community so driving to excursions can be a little long.
Hotel well maintained but in need of updating and improving quality of shows/ entertainment.

Hotel is well maintained and very clean nice big bedrooms but they are a bit dated, staff were constantly cleaning and tidying up around the complex. Overall Staff were very friendly and efficient.Food in the buffet overall was very good and there was always something available. The meal on Hogmanay was amazing . Entertainment needs improving and was nothing special. Speciality restaurants were ok it was ice to be served your meal but we preferred food in the main dining room. Beach is kept clean by hotel staff unfortunately the sea in this area was very dirty looking due to a nearby river, not the clear blue seas of the Caribbean we experienced in other areas. However the pool was large and clean within well maintained gardens. Also hotel complex is nowhere near walking distance of any towns so a week was long enough to stay here as not enough amenities to keep you busy if you don’t like sunbathing. We had almost 3 days of solid rain and entertainment staff should have a back up plan on days like this to keep guests entertained inside the hotel as most of the activities take place outside so very much weather dependent..gym is not big enough for size of hotel. There is a shop where you can buy souvenir's, toiletries but over priced. My husband paid $25 for bite spray that sells on Amazon for $7 so make sure you buy everything you need before your holiday. WiFi was good but kept having to reconnect to it.
Exceptional Service

I spent Christmas and new year atthis hotel, and I can say it was a truly great experience overall. While there are some areas for improvement, the highlights of the trip made it well worth it. The Service (The Best Part): The absolute standout of this hotel is the staff’s service attitude. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and valued. I want to give a special shout-out to Ray Reyes Ramón (the "wines guy"). He is an incredibly dedicated professional and a fantastic staff member also Kerly Almonte who really made us feel well taken care of . Their knowledge and attention to detail added such a high level of quality to our dining experiences. Thank you, Ramon and Kerly! Facilities & Common Areas: The public areas of the resort are very well-maintained. Whether it was the pools, the lobby, or the outdoor spaces, the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing vacation. To be honest, the rooms are outdated and definitely in need of a renovation.. However, the impeccable service and the positive energy of the staff more than made up for the room conditions. Conclusion: If you value a warm, welcoming environment and top-tier service over a modern room, you will love it here. The staff truly is the heart of this resort. We had a wonderful time!
