An excellent stay still here for three more days. The place is a little ran down but the staff and the food make up for this. The rooms need an upgrade a little bit they are still very grand. The food is so impressive and the restaurant on top are excellent

Still here. Paid for 2 Ocean Front rooms. One room was ocean view at best. Got moved to Ocean Front but AC does not work in new room. Room 2 smells like raw sewage. Gave us a room to sleep in for the night while they see what is going on. People work hard to save money to ho on vacation only to have it ruined by the worst resort I have ever been to, and I have been to many. Stay away and spend your many elsewhere. So far neither the hotel not Air Canada Vacations have stepped up to do anything.

Is it a 5 star.? Few things let it down, constantly no hot water for shower, bath towels bit on small side, air con very noisey even on lowest setting, cutlery in speciality restaurants not the greatest, no steak knives, no lobster crackers or lobster pick, even thou its £70 extra for a meal for 2, quality of food in 3 extra restaurants marginally better than buffet food, no hot plates in main buffet an the food is not hot at all no matter how early you eat, no alcoholic drinks after 1qpm apart from disco, that closes at 2am, no drinks anywhere after this, so it is not 24hr all inclusive, good points, we had ocean front suite, fantastic view, nice clean beaches, lovely big pool swim up bar, nice an clean, alcoholic drinks very good if you keep away from the very sweet cocktails, beer is presidente good but only served in half pints, lot of staff expect to be tipped, cliental mostly Spanish & Canadian, stayed from 4th of February for a week, after a cruise (same kind of faults have been happening for over a year, hotel as done nothing to address this especially the barely warm food)

Check in after 3pm, check out 12pm. There was a wait for our room which is tiring after travelling. Sea is cloudy not clear due to location near river. There are puffer fish near shoreline and jellyfish but didn't see latter. Large pool and beach area has plenty of loungers. We had problem with room being opposite Bahia Bouganville who have very loud entertainment in their lobby. If you want to be asleep before 11pm ask for a quiet room not near there. I commented on the hotel feedback form and they did ask if we wanted to move room. I also told them about the shower head being very large and causing the water to leak onto floor. The next day they changed the head to a smaller size. You should not use tap water to clean teeth, they leave plenty of bottled water in room. 3 speciality dining restaurants available to book online via app or at reception. You can only book 3x for 7 days stay. International buffet restaurant available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beach restaurant open at lunchtime. Apparently open too all night but we never saw it open then. Evening entertainment available every evening from 9pm. Mainly in Spanish and pretty amateur performances. Circus outside was very impressive. Excursions being sold in lobby area were cheaper than our TUI rep. We went on 1 to local caves, altos de chavron, chocolate factory, cigar factory. Very good value and enjoyable. Watch out if you want to pay by card. He displays price in $US but then converts price to Dominican peso. He didn't tell me he was going to do that which is a problem when I gave him a currency card with only $US. The price I paid worked out more due to conversion rate.

Had a great time with my kids(36,30,33) The staff is super friendly.. Ronal at reception was great! Maximo at the lobby bar treated us like royalty! Kerly at the main buffet had our preferred juices ready for us every morning! And the pool bar…Louis introduced us to our new favourite drink..,and made them with love for us repeatedly every day! The resort is very clean and kept spotless. The beach is beautiful, unfortunately the water wasn’t very clear when we were there,
