The resort is OK. Pros&cons: +clean&spacious rooms, the bed super comfortable! +nice view on the beach&palms from our room +tasty&variety of food in the main buffet, themed dinners(e.g mexico, italian cuisine),best omelette for breakfast! +nice beach&beautiful sunsets! +some waiters/barmans very nice&friendly(need to mention Edgar Molleday-super friendly, always smiling,he appricate the fact we always trying to order everything in spanish language,he should be rewarded for his work cause he's great;) -beach bar-usually the lack of basic drinks e.g mohito, brugal -obviously is the colour of sea(but we knew about it, anyway it wasn't so bad as we thought, but it's not clear&turquise water for sure) -too loud air contditioner -strange smell sometimes in the room(not sure if it's from air conditioner or something else)+a bit old design of the rooms -strange feeling to have the door inside to another room and when you open it there's another door from that room(what is causing you can here more easily the noises from your neighboors) -not fullfiling the fridge daily&also not fullfilling always the basic things like a toilet paper -"less means more",it's my personal opinion about the behaviour of some of the workers,it's nice if someone's trying to make sure if everything's fine, but there is a thin line,if you're politely saying you're not interested about some vouchers,or leaving review of the hotel during your 1st day,it should be understood straight away.

First couple of days of our holiday were fine. Beach is lovely, staff were all friendly and helpful, rooms clean, plenty of sun loungers available. Day 2/3 we came down with food poisoning which ruined the rest of our holiday. After being ill for days the remaining time we had we were very weak and could only manage/ dare to eat bananas, toast and bottled water. After speaking with other’s holidaying here at the same time we weren’t the only ones and several people had been to hospital for treatment of food poisoning. The hotel overall was ok if a little basic. Only one lobby bar of an evening which didn’t give much variety. Food - there wasn’t lots of choice and even before we got ill it wasn’t very appealing. The sea isn’t clear here and there are jellyfish with lots of people being stung daily. This was a last minute booking and If I’d have done my research on this hotel beforehand I definitely wouldn’t have picked this one! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and definitely wouldn’t stay again.
Nice holiday

Good holiday here. Yes there are a few problems if you want to look for them but they’re little things and easily overlooked if you just want to enjoy yourself and relax here. The rooms are very dated but they are kept very clean. Not enough power outlets in rooms so just bring double adapters and it’s fine. The water in the shower is mostly cold but this is quite refreshing considering how warm it is here. The food in the buffet restaurant is pretty good as all inclusive goes and varied just enough with themed nights. Your glass will never be left empty by the waiting staff who are absolutely great. I would advise booking the restaurants on a weekend because the buffet becomes a bit chaotic when the locals come in from Thursday to Sunday. The pool area is very relaxed with no problem getting a lounger, again this is during the week and totally different on weekends so maybe if you want to chill then book trips when the locals arrive at weekend or go onto the beach which is kept clean and inviting. The sea isn’t the clear Caribbean Sea you’d expect but it’s warm and fine for swim. The main plus for this hotel is the staff who are all absolutely brilliant from reception through to ground staff all are lovely friendly hardworking people who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable although English is very limited with most so try to brush up on your Spanish before going. Mosquitoes are a big problem so pack plenty of repellent as it’s quite expensive in the on site shop. All in all a decent hotel in a great surrounding just manage your time well over the weekends when everything changes and you’ll have a good time here.
Wonderful stay with a few notes be aware of..

Overall we had a fantastic time. We were a little sceptical of travelling here in September because we heard about it being hurricane season. But this was never an issue. We did have a couple of storms but after about 1/2hr they went as fast as they came and it only happened twice in all of the 2 weeks we were there. The hotel itself we was lovely, very impressive although in some cases it was a little tired. In all honesty it most probably would be a 4* not a 5*. We'd like to mention all of the positive things first before saying about a couple of less desirable experiences. First, the entertainment team worked tirelessly to keep everyone entertained. In particular we would like to mention Marcos, Genna, Franklin, Alfred Antonio and Alexia to name but a few. In the restaurant the food was fine with several choices and we must mention Altagracia Medina who always greeted us with such a wonderful warm smile and couldn't do enough for you and there was also Emmanuel who was equally helpful and couldn't have enough fist pumps :). We would also like to mention all of the support staff ie gardeners, cleaners, maintenance people as they worked so hard in such high temperature conditions. Dergis the TUI rep was also fantastic and helped us out a couple of times (not received our photos from one excursion) taking charge and resolving this for us. Perhaps one thing to note, it's his day off on Mondays and a substitute rep didn't turn up. All of the excursions we did were great and we found the ones we chose had a good variation so experienced all that we could've wished for. (7 adventure Park, Swimming with Sharks, Saona Island and Santo Domingo trip). We found all of the excursion reps were great bar the one who took us on the Saona trip who looked like he didn't want to be there but this didn't dampen our experience. Finally, the couple of not so good bits. Be aware of the hotel ATM as one time it didn't dispense with the money despite our bank charging us. When I asked at the front desk they acknowledged this happened a number of times so hence we didn't trust it to use it again! Then finally the unfortunate experience when we first arrived after a 9hr journey. When we came to check-in we were met by 'Kelvin' who seemed more interested in selling us an upgrade to the hotel next door rather than welcoming us with a smile and a 'Welcome to..'
