Amazing

. Our time at Lopesan was made even more special by the beach and theater activities organized by Chocolate, Big Mamá, Mini Copper, Pinky, and the talented Dancers led by Francisco. Their passion for entertaining guests shone through in every performance.

Get your real 5 star not a want to be 5 star.

After being at 5 star Playa Vista Azul in Varadero Cuba and coming to a 5 star Lopesan Costa Bravaro Punta Cana the first thought that came to my mind was upon entering Lopesan was there must be a mistake as to compare the two resorts I would have gave Playa Vista Azul a 2.5 star at the most and Lopesan a 8 star if it existed lol. Different of day and night to say the least. The food was extraordinary with beef hamburgers instead of Cuban pork burgers that I could not even stand the smell of . Tabasco sauce, butter, ketchup and vodka that Cuba never has. The Cubans try to pass whte rum off as Vodka at their resorts and Lopesan had Absolute Vodka and their native Presidente beer always unlike Playa Vista Azul getting what ever is available changing day to day and never none of the Cuban Cristal that many like . This resort treated staff and local poeple like people and when inviting local people to a treat to the resort no problem unlike Playa Vista Azul refusing thier own poeple at check in. Lopesan has conquered all areas how to treat people and serve great food and drinks because thier country has it all. Poeple that only has been to a 5 star in Cuba and nothing to compare it to let me tell you after being to real 5 Star at Lopesan I realized I only been fooled till arriving at Lopesan. The pools well set up and staff organized and real glasses or hard plastic cups to drink at the pools. Playa Vista Azul was little disposable plastic cups that they washed and reused. Lopesan had cold glasses when Playa Vista Azul had cups with warm bottles of pop so the ice cubs were melted by time I got sat down to enjoy my watered down warm drink now. I have been to 4 stars in Dominican Republic also and I have heard poeple saying after going to a 3 star in Punta Cana they will not be returning to a 5 star Cuba resort again. We get what we pay for and Lopesan was worth it. I'm Punta Cana bound from now on. I had the adults only swim up and the view was like something from the Maldives. Thnx for the great resort and pride and effort that many put into the Lopesan property and we will be returning for sure instead of looking at cheap 5 star prices pretending we were at a 5 star. It's okay to do Cuba first but not the other way around because you will be wishing you never after experiencing Lopesan!! Cheers!!

Pros and Cons

briginem (Tampa, Florida) on Apr 26, 2024

I would like to start by highlighting the positives of this resort. Firstly, the resort itself is absolutely stunning. Every area has been carefully curated and thought out, with picturesque lighting, pools, and décor. The property is so beautiful that we couldn't help but take numerous pictures. The resort truly shines at night, with perfect lighting that even extends to the romantic swim out suites. Secondly, the food at this resort is a definite pro. The a la carte restaurants, particularly El Charro, offer a delightful dining experience. Bavaro coffee provides a delicious selection of coffees and warm treats, while Yolo is a great fast-food option with a tasty chimi on the menu. The Valley is perfect for those who miss breakfast, with delicious sancocho. Lastly, the Goldfish grill stands out as the best buffet on the resort, and the grill cook adds a touch of humor. Another positive is the reception upon arrival. The staff is welcoming and excited to see you, with cold champagne and warm smiles at the adults-only check-in area. Unfortunately, there are some noticeable cons to this resort. The most significant is the service. While there were a few great employees, such as Senor Bello at the adults-only bar, Carla at El Charro, and the staff at The Valley and Yolo, they were few and far between. We often felt rushed and as if the employees were annoyed by our requests. Room service was available but came with long wait times and cold food on all three occasions. Service around the pool was limited, and there was no service at the night club. Normally, we bring money to tip for good service at all-inclusive resorts, but this time we ended up keeping most of our cash as there were few instances where we felt inclined to tip our usual $5. The second con is the alcohol selection. Despite being advertised as a luxury resort, the alcohol options were all bottom-tier. There were no signature drinks or specialized drinks at the themed restaurants, which is common at most resorts. I stuck to the local beer and rum, as everything else was subpar. Another con is the lack of representation of Dominican culture in the food and entertainment. The nightly shows were generic with poor sound quality, and the nightclub was disappointing. While there were a few select dishes showcasing local cuisine, they were limited. Lastly, there were several small issues that you wouldn't expect from a $625 per night resort, such as nonfunctioning outlets, slow draining showers, pool towels with holes, and cheap, small suite towels. Overall, I loved the aesthetic and food of this hotel. However, I don't think I would return, but I would recommend it for its beauty. If the resort improves its service, alcohol selection, and small amenities, it could easily receive a full 5-star rating.

Amazing trip

One of the best trip I did. Beautiful hotel, the food was amazing. The hotel is sooo clean, the pool and the beach too. If you try the hotel you need to take the unique section. And we had a great service with our butler Jimmy. I recommend this hotel. I didn’t even want to leave.

8 Day in Paradise

Cassidy J on Apr 25, 2024

One of the best five star experiences I've had. Value was top notch and while there were some problems, the overall experience far surpassed our expectations. Food quality at most of the restaurants was comparable to 5-star dining, the only disappointing meal was at the French restaurant (La Boheme). Unique was our favourite beach bar, we always ate there for breakfast and lunches because the service was phenomenal and the food selection was fantastic. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping the room refreshed and providing lots of bottled water. The activities were fun, mainly because the staff was so entertaining. The only disappointing experience was at check-in, we ended up arriving prior to check-in so we had to wait a bit (as expected) however our room still was not ready when it came to check-in time. In fact we didn't get into our room until 2 hours after hotel check-in time. Luckily that was at the beginning of vacation and quickly forgotten after how good the rest of the resort was. All in all it was a great stay and we will definitely be coming back in future.
