I was able to return to SCC for another visit from 9/20-9/26 with my sister-in-law for her first All Inclusive experience. Once again, SCC did NOT disappoint! CHECK-IN: Lobby was under construction during our visit, so our check-in & check-out were via a side entrance and situated in a conference room. While it was a different introduction to the property, it wasn't a deal breaker and did not take away from our overall experience. ***I will note that the accommodations they made by moving Coco Cafe to the Market Cafe area and opening the Sky Bar in addition to the Bar area by the restaurants, we actually found things more convenient and appreciated the evening entertainment options. ROOM: We stayed in room 3202, pool view double. Room was as expected per photos and prior visits. We had a view of the main pool. AC worked well, the only issue we experienced was with the safe at check-in, which was quickly resolved. CONCIERGE: It was a treat to have Alexander as our concierge again. Each morning we woke to the Sundial and an offer of any assistance needed. He often found us around the pool during the day to check in and make sure all was going well. He promptly took care of any of our tasks (including the safe upon check in) and we didn't have to worry about anything! Alexander's smile is contagious and you can just feel that you are a priority and it is his goal to ensure you have an amazing time. THANK YOU ALEXANDER!!! POOL: I continue to believe that SCC has the best pool hands down! The infinity pool that overlooks the ocean is hard to find, but so very worth it! A new addition on this trip was that they brought fresh wash clothes around late afternoon due to the heat. it was very refreshing. Madelyn brought energy each morning and put smiles on our faces! She came by often and anticipated our needs throughout the day, even searching for us in the pool when we weren't at our seats. During her breaks, Martha jumped right in for seamless service with a smile. THANKS MADELYN & MARTHA!!! RESTAURANTS: I am repeating this from a prior review -- Do NOT sleep on the bread cart at Seaside for lunch, get the tomato sauce and the garlic aioli dips, then mix them - you're welcome :) We also had a very nice Dominican lunch on the day of our arrival - what a wonderful way to dive right into the Dominican culture. Our favorites this trip were fish tacos at Seaside, ravioli (chicken & mushroom) at Portofino, Crunch Himitsu roll at Himitsu and the fillet at Bordeau. We certainly did not go hungry. SHOUT OUT TO JOSE AT MARKET CAFE for the best eggs and ALBERTO @ SEASIDE for taking such great care of us at lunch and dinner! ENTERTAINMENT: Having been at this resort prior to COVID and after, I feel like the activity team has really upped their game! They have the usual pool and beach volleyball, water aerobics and Zumba, but they also had Larimar jewelry making, Karaoke, and pottery making. We saw the new Circus Show and they even started showing the NFL games at the Sky Bar when nothing else was scheduled there due to demand. We were so happy to cheer our Chiefs onto a victory!! Also, don't miss the Queen show! SHOUTOUT TO THE ENTERTAINMENT TEAM--LA DIVA, YILVER, YARY, RHIANNA, SMILE, & ELY! RECOMMENDATION: Keep the Sky Bar and use it for Karaoke and as a sport bar BUT PLEASE figure out how to add bathrooms close! This resort continues to rank #1 for me, the layout, size, pool and cleanliness are all excellent but what really makes the different is the people - I consider them my Dominican Family and will continue to return as often as I can.

I will start my review with activities as at this property are they are offered to entertain and create an environment of joy and tension tune down from every day life. Rhianna and Santa and Smile bring Zumba to life on the beach. Mini Me, Yilver, Eli and Scooby Doo orchestrate hilarious competitions like kayak contest in the pool or beach volleyball. La Diva and her team know every guest and their preferences. Elizabeth brought suggestions to each guest including macrame and pottery which were a relaxing way to spend vacation time. The servers in the well run restaurants know how to please at a level that is top notch professional and consistent. Every meal from the morning buffet to the beach side BBQ and paella to the delicious drinks are served temperature and taste calibrated for delight! My favorite is Portofino but my guy loves the steaks at Seaside Grill. The options are outstanding. The Havana night on the beach was not to be missed. The band from Cuba was unbelievably talented and the backdrop of the sunset was a lifetime experience. The service was so attentive. I was dancing every day to enjoyable live music poolside daily and there are options for karaoke, Spanish lessons, and bachata poolside. The activities and food are ongoing day and night. The pool and beach are impeccable clean with plenty of shady spaces to nap or gather. The towels are soft and offered all day. Every space is well maintained. Nothing runs out…everything is refreshed and without a problem. I love the international guest list and the friendliness in general. This is a world class destination and if you read reviews otherwise this is likely a person whom has lost sight of beauty grace and appreciation. This location is the epitome of beauty, grace and elegance. Secrets Cap Cana is a gem that we continue to return to over and over.
Top Notch

Excellent service at Secrets Cap Cana. #1 resort in the Dominican Republic. If you are looking for a relaxing, top notch all inclusive, this is the spot to pick. From our butler (Barreto), bartender (Danny Boy), servers (Joel at Oceana and Bordeaux, Maria at the lobby bar) and every single server we came across), we felt like family. By far, the most surprising experience that made my vacation were the free yoga sessions held. I was blown away by the expert Secrets brought to the resort. Holli Rabishaw (Yoga Therapist) brought tremendous awareness and relaxation. Best Yoga experience of my life and it was free. I typically avoid the Spa experience at all inclusive due to the price; however, Secrets Cap Cana makes spa a cool and affordable experience compared to US. The hydrotherapy sauna and cold plunge prior to our couples massages was incredible. Juan did a phenomenal job walking us through the process. I even tried the fish therapy which was another brand new relaxing experience that I would do again. Scarlet, Junior and more were incredible massage therapists. They took their time and were highly trained. My husband doesn’t typically like massages but highly enjoyed this experience. We splurged on a swim out for our anniversary and Mike’s 50th. Highly recommend the privacy and view. The White sandy beaches and pool side service. Danny Boy brought us a heart shaped floating lunch one day, what a surprising treat at every stop. The resort also cooked the Mahi Mahi Mike caught for free. It was delicious ??. We will go again.
Five Star Resorts Don’t Have Sales Pitches

I travel a fair amount as a solo female . Here is what I know. A “ five star “ resort doesn’t target its guests into a pressure filled sales pitch to buy into a vacation club with a 30 year commitment. I had taken this trip as a time to recalibrate as life has been life -ing : and admittedly fell into the typical wanting to be “ nice “ and not seem rude when heavily pushed into attending a “ breakfast “ in exchange for a spa credit which turned out to be a 3 hour lead in sales presentation. Oh -and the spa credit wasn’t honored , and despite tipping generously for a mediocre massage , I was further harassed about why I rated the masseuse 4 out of 5 I ended up being pressured into purchasing a “ vacation package “ because I felt for the young woman that they identified to finesse me. I have fortunately been able to terminate the contract with a penalty : Let me inform you that the pressure to NOT terminate was on par with the pressure to purchase . The only difference is that it was an electronic interaction. Property was pretty . Food was good enough for an all inclusive: not terrible. Room was fine : beach view pretty. Butler never responded to my ONE request for a dinner reservation which is fine …but then was certain to be motivated to make sure there was an opportunity to be tipped at the end of my stay. Best staff were servers at the restaurants and buffets: truly lovely and deserving of GREAT tips. I will never. ever. book a secrets resort again. And that is saying a lot . Two stars because of the server staff at the restaurants: otherwise would have been a solid one .
Amazing honeymoon!

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The cleanliness is first class and the staff are lovely. There is a very wide array of food and drinks so you will never be short of choice! Alexander, our concierge was a brilliant help throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble.
