Delightful visit

V1295TQcarolined on Jan 29, 2023

This is a beautiful property with several options for entertainment, pools, dining, and beaches. From the moment we arrived our butler, Carlos, was attentive and always appeared at just the right moment! From finding items left behind the night before and returning them, to greeting us with a smile to be sure any needs were met. Dinner reservations were made upon request for our group of 8, and Carlos would even escort us to the restaurants if we got turned around on the beautiful property. Poolside server, Alba, and beachside server, Esperanza, were lovely, friendly and accommodating with prompt service. It was a treat to have Gibel as a server on several occasions. Would absolutely recommend this beautiful resort and its fantastic staff! Can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I had the most amazing vacation at Secrets Royal Beach, Punta Cana. The food and entertainment was amazing. La Diva helped add that special spice we needed to top off a great vacation, she made the days at the beach so fun. Franco was amazing as well, he was so helpful and made sure our needs were met. We will never forget this trip and the extra special people.

Another Excellent Experience at Secrets Brand Resorts

Jessica P on Jan 29, 2023

The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Carlito! He made sure we had an excellent experience as our concierge. I swear, no matter what bathroom on the resort I went to, it was freshly cleaned. The food was excellent and the pool had amazing views with lots of options for sun or shade. Our room was clean and we made use of the balcony at night.

Resort with two personalities

Nate501 (New York City, New York) on Jan 29, 2023

Secrets at Cap Cana is really 2 resorts glued together. One half of the resort includes the party pool and half the beach. The other side is a much quieter pool, a separate restaurant and the other half of the beach. It is preferred guest vs regular guest. This nuance isn't well described in the website. You also need to be careful where your preferred room is, since your swim-out room can face the party pool. The drinks at Secrets keep coming all day and they are very good. It is hard not to spend the day drinking by the pool or the beach. There is a lot of live music that is pretty good during the day and through the evening. The food at the resort leaves a lot to be desired. For the most part it is mediocre. One of our best meals was on the beach for Havana night where everything was freshly grilled. The Rosewater restaurant, preferred only, was a very nice ambiance for both breakfast and lunch. Other than that, the market cafe, huge buffet, was a good bet for both breakfast and lunch. We did take advantage of the spa and the hydrotherapy area. A top notch facility where my wife and I got great massages. The people working at the resort were very nice and helpful. Our butler, Philippe, was excellent. He was attentive to any requests and he was the person that brought the Havana night dinner to our attention. On a related matter, tipping is confusing. At many other places, tipping is included in the price. At Secrets, tipping is encouraged but not required. Tips to the servers are a couple of dallers. In the beginning we didn't tip, didn't realize it was expected and service was still good. We only had one bad exchange with someone in the Market Cafe, a buffet at that, who seemed angry that he didn't get a tip the prior day. Do what you think is right, though I wish the resort would pay a fair wage and eliminate tips. My advice to everyone is to know where your room is. We reserved an ocean view junior suite. It was in a building close to the lobby on the top floor. We could see the ocean over the party pool and the rooftop of many buildings and their ac equipment. We were asked immediately if we wanted to upgrade. We did the next day but insisted we see the building we were moving to. Our new room was an oceanfront master suite which was great but the cost was about double our original price. To be fair, the room was twice the size. We went to Secrets because it was all-inclusive and adult only. It was good to get away from the northeast to a warm climate. I think the ideal stay is 4 or 5 days. For us, a full week was lot.

Awesome Week Away

dgintheusa (Michigan) on Jan 29, 2023

Just back from a week at Secrets Cap Cana and couldn’t be more pleased. Our corner suite was in building 7 - right on the beach - with outstanding views of the ocean and main pool. Can’t say enough about our concierge OLIVER - went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Our time hanging around the PC pool was great thanks to the efforts of ESPERENZA and the rest of the team. We ate at all the restaurants and determined the Italian was our fav - really can’t go wrong with any of them. The housekeeping team did a great job keeping the place spotless throughout. Evening shows were great, we especially liked the tributes to Queen and the Beatles. The staff at this resort really do a great job - thanks to our room attendant Yudelca, Eddie Murphy in the Japanese restaurant and Ronny the breadman for their extra efforts. Definitely recommend a visit.
