Beautiful resort with amazing staff!

Just got back from a 6 night mother/daughter trip to Secrets Cap Cana. Based on the reviews, I had high hopes for this resort, and it exceeded all expectations! The grounds of the resort are beautiful, and staff are out there all day every day meticulously sweeping, gardening, cleaning lounge chairs, etc. My mom and I each had our own preferred room, and I cannot say enough good things about our butler Darling. He made sure we had chairs by the pool every day, that our fridges were restocked with our preferred drinks, we had a table at whichever restaurant we wanted for dinner, and a spot in the activities we wanted to attend. I don’t know when he sleeps, and makes each preferred guest assigned to him feel like the most important and taken care of guest at the resort. Food concierge Francesca checked on us every night at dinner, asked for feedback on the food, and made sure our dining experience was always a good one. We tried all of the restaurants except for Oceana (not seafood eaters), and our favorite was Bordeaux. Even though we were preferred, we went to the main pool every day. It was huge, and we liked the people and vibe there. Mabel checked in with us multiple times during the day and made sure we were comfortable with shade (me), and sun (my Mom). Every day, different food treats were served around the pool - our favorite being the crepe cart! Every member of the staff goes out of their way to ensure that you are having a great vacation. I’ve been to numerous Secrets resorts, and this was by far the best! The only con I can report on is the beach. While the sand was white and powdery, the ocean was full of seaweed and brown in color, making it undesirable to swim in. I certainly will return to Secrets Cap Cana!
All-inclusive Family Fun

We traveled with our adult kids and their significant others, and the six of us had a great time together! The number one best thing about this hotel is the staff – everybody was beyond friendly, helpful, and always in a good mood. Very responsive when we had hot water issues in our room and smokers next-door. Miguel was our concierge and he took care of everything for us – truly excellent. I would definitely recommend staying on the preferred side if possible. The pool in our suite was really great, especially at the end of the day with a cold drink and some shade! Pros – rooms are very nice and beachside rooms have outdoor showers. Beds are very comfortable. Pool was a perfect temperature and whole property was very clean. Breakfast and lunch buffets had tons of choices and were plentiful. All wait staff were super nice, accommodating of food allergies and encouraged us to practice our Spanish. Service was quick and organized. Plenty of bottled water provided in the rooms. Cafe made great lattes. Every night there was fun entertainment to watch in the lobby. There was an adorable family of cats which brought us all tremendous joy! A couple of them were very approachable and sweet and we looked forward to seeing them every night. The gym and spa were really nice. Miguel and El Patio arranged a delicious cake for our kids’ birthday celebration. Cons - a few things keep this from being a five star resort in my opinion. The beach was not great – the water and shoreline were completely covered with sargassum. We weren’t really tuned in that this might be the case. If you were willing to wade out about 50 feet you could get to a spot that was a little better, but it was pretty limiting. It was not the kind of ocean situation where you’re out swimming or floating every day. There is a low wall out about 200 yards and if you hop over that, it’s pretty shallow and the water is clear. But that’s a lot of work! There are staff members raking and scooping the seaweed up all day long, but they never make much progress. And it doesn’t smell great. The beach is not very nice to walk on – sand is not soft and in some places, it was bare and hard packed. My daughter found one single shell. The food at dinner restaurants was decent, nothing special. Seaside was the best of the bunch. I would say if you’re looking for an all-inclusive, camp out-by-the-pool, fruity -cocktails vacation, this is a great choice! If you are wanting a relaxing beach vacation, I’d recommend checking to see if it’s sargassum season or picking another resort.

Enjoyed the preferred area, the restaurants were really good and the service excellent! Definitely will return to this resort. The resort is very clean, the multiple pools provide options. Our butler, Ericson, made our trip special. The resort is not so big that it’s hard to get around which I loved. The tropical drinks with fruit puree made for endless pool days !
Great Resort, Amazing Service

We just returned from a stay at Secrets Cap Cana and had an amazing stay. This was a family trip with my wife and our two adult children. My wife and I had an ocean front master suite and the kids had an ocean view junior suite. The service for the week was amazing and our butler, Darling, was phenomenal. He was proactive with our needs and requests and truly made us feel taken care of. Bar service was great and very attentive. The food was good for a large resort with Bordeaux and Portofino restaurants by far the highest quality. The market cafe buffet for breakfast provided diverse options for everyone with similar great service. We were preferred club and also utilized Rosewater which had an amazing grilled octopus. While the beach was well kept, if you are looking for deep turquoise water don’t come during sargassum season. We will be back at some point when the sargassum is not present. We were aware of this but with a swim out ocean front room it didn’t matter for us. The only other negative for us was the spa lobby not being air conditioned. While the massage was amazing going in sweaty was not optimal. Overall, we had an amazing stay that was made extra special by the service from our amazing butler, Darling. We will be back.
Perfect 20th anniversary getaway at Secrets Cap Cana

My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th anniversary at Secrets Cap Cana, and we had a wonderful experience overall. A special thank you to our butler, Alexis, who was absolutely amazing. He made our stay easy, enjoyable, and stress-free by helping with restaurant reservations and ensuring every detail was taken care of. He truly helped make our anniversary memorable. We would highly recommend Alexis to anyone staying at the resort and will definitely request him again on a future visit. The food at every restaurant we visited was excellent, and the staff throughout the resort were incredibly attentive and friendly. We also thoroughly enjoyed the nightly shows and entertainment. Jon Sena from the entertainment team at the main pool was especially fun, energetic, and engaging—he really helped create a great atmosphere. Although the room category we originally booked was not available at check-in, the management team listened to our concerns and ultimately accommodated us in the room we had selected. We appreciated their efforts to make things right. We highly recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club. The exclusive pool, premium liquor selections, and outstanding butler service were well worth it and enhanced our overall experience. The only downside was the seaweed on the beach, but that's something the resort cannot control and did not take away from our enjoyment of the property. Overall, Secrets Cap Cana is a beautiful resort with exceptional service, great dining, and excellent entertainment. We would absolutely recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.
