Hotel Marina El Cid

What an amazing experience! We got real relaxation and comfort during our stay at Hotel Marina El Cid for five nights. Our family of 8 had 3 rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All inclusive is great. The food, drinks and service were incredible. The breakfast buffet had everything you would ever want. We had nice choices for lunches too. For dinners we did reservations. The restaurants were good we definitely enjoyed most of them but disappointed by the French restaurant, their food not being “truly French food” was tasteless. By the way, restaurant reservations system needs significant improvement. The property is clean and beautifully landscaped. El Cid is a beautiful resort with plenty to do and all your needs cared for if you want to relax. We came with whole family (parents and kids and grandparents) and we were never without anything to do. We enjoyed the pools and other activities. Unfortunately the beach was not comfortable. Our family had a very special time! Will be back again soon.

I have been going to Ventus for years with friends who are millionaire members. While I have always enjoyed my time there, they have taken away perks over the years. One of the highlights has been hydrotherapy at the spa. In the past, you would get a short complimentary massage at the end of the hydrotherapy. It was a short face and head massage, but a very nice ending to the hydrotherapy and would sometimes be a warm-up to the body massage. Now they charge you for that short massage and it is totally not worth it to pay extra for it. I guess it depends on who you happen to get for the Massage but I feel like it is a big rip off. Also,we frequently vacation there in September and October,and during those times they will close some of the platinum lounges saying there's not enough people at the resort to have them all open. This is a major inconvenience because a lot of times we will just eat a sandwich from the platinum lounge instead of going to a restaurant for lunch. The available services should be th same no matter what time of the year you vacation. They also used to give each each person a complimentary El Cid bag for you to use throughout the week to take your stuff with you to the pool. However, now they only provide one bag per contract. On another note, when do they plan on removing the jetties so that the seaweed is not caught between them causing an awful smell and causing the water to be a horrible brown color? During our last visit, we actually walked up the beach to the next resort and they do have pretty blue water. Also, they do have wine and tequila tastings throughout the week which would be nicer if they weren't at 6 PM right at dinner time. Why are all the tastings consistently at the dinner hour which forces us to have a later dinner and possibly miss the shows? We like to eat dinner at six so that we can enjoy seeing the shows and then go dancing to the bands. The tastings need to be moved to 4 PM or so. The wine tasting outside the French restaurant is a horrible place to have it as golf carts are always passing by and Willie never uses a microphone so it's so hard to hear him over the noise of people walking by and the constant golf carts going by. Also,the check in process is extremely long and painful especially after getting up very early for our flight and traveling all day.

A Pleasant Surprise at El Cid in Puerto Morelos!

I'm not typically a fan of Mexico, so my expectations were quite low when we booked our stay at El Cid. However, I was genuinely thrilled with this resort! We stayed on the marina side but also had access to two other properties, which gave us a variety of options and made us feel far from landlocked. The rooms on the marina side were good and clean. As is common in Mexico, there was a bit of a musky smell with the air conditioning, and our unit wasn't working initially. However, the resort staff promptly fixed it, which was much appreciated. The dining options were plentiful, with something for everyone. My son especially enjoyed the food court, and the entertainment on the property was a nice touch. Now, a small downside: the concierge, Serge, was very enthusiastic and helpful at first, offering to book excursions and car rentals, claiming he could get us good deals. However, when I politely declined to attend a timeshare meeting, his attitude changed, and he became much less attentive. It was a bit disappointing, as it was clear there was some commission or kickback involved. Thankfully, our butlers (Ivan Garcia Cali Medina) were much more helpful and not pushy at all, offering great service through WhatsApp. Overall, despite the pushiness around the timeshare, our experience was fantastic. I would definitely return to this property again—just be firm if you're not interested in the timeshare pitch. Everything else was really great, and we had a wonderful time!

Besides transportation from old gulf carts. Everything else was great. Thank you. We love El Cid.

We are members of the Millionaires club. The stay was great however the Golf carts are old and need to be replaced. Our Butlers Are and Manuel were great. We were treated like family. We are always very happy of the service we have received from them. The restaurants were amazing. Everyone who work there was always happy, professional and kind. Great experience.
