Top of our list of favourite resorts in Mexico

sportsmomLondon (Ilderton, Canada) on May 17, 2025

Absolutely loved this resort. I would rate it as my favourite in Mexico and my husband and I have been going to Mexico for many years now. The rooms were very clean but we really didn't spend any time in them, other than to sleep. We spent all our time on the beach or in the infinity pool. Beach and pool bartenders were great. We spent lots of time in the infinity pool and hung out along the edge overlooking the ocean...saw the cruise ships go to/from Cozumel. There was a separate kids pool and activities...didn't really notice the kids to be honest. We did the water aquafit classes and played beach volleyball every day. You could walk to miles on the beach and go right into Puerto Moreles. My one son who has travelled in Mexico several times said this resort was the best one they have been to. High compliment coming from him. The nightly entertainment was excellent and nice mix/variety. The restaurants were also good. I really liked the Italian one followed by the Mexican restaurant. The buffet had a huge variety of offerings. Again a separate buffet for the kids. Excellent gluten-free options .. my daughter-in-law is celiac and she said she had no problems there or after returning home. Highly, highly recommend Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa. We will be returning and so will my three adult children and their spouses.

Would highly recommend!!

Ethan S on May 17, 2025

The Resort was great but the staff is what made our trip so memorable, our first night we were served by David in the Mexican restaurant and he was vibrant, and funny ensuring our trip started off on the right foot. From there on we had the pleasure of getting to know many of the staff members who did everything they could to make sure we were enjoying ourselves day in and day out from the entertainment staff in Mauricio Chi, and Jonathan to the pool concierge in Cristian and Enrique, to the bartenders in the lobby bar in Enrique and Clever, they all were excellent. Whether it was checking in on us, getting something for us, or even just having a conversation with us, it made the experience that much better. As far as the entertainment staff goes Mauricio Chi, and Jonathan were excellent but the whole entertainment team itself was great and the staff would even stay late and continue to play beach volleyball with everyone, including Cristian with pool concierge who we convinced to play after his shift was over one of the days. Things like this make the resort so unique and enjoyable! The maintenance and upkeep is also on another level, stuff was constantly being fixed and painted making everything picture perfect. With that being said the reason it wasn’t a 5 out of 5 was because of a few small things, because there is no reservations and getting into restaurants every day isn’t a problem, the buffet isn’t the elite, it’s good but not great. They took the large fans down in the lobby bar so it gets quite hot in there now, and air doesn’t flow very well. Obviously it’ll never be cold in there but a little air flow would make it a better hang out spot. Definitely nothing that will ruin the trip but just small things to note. Other than those two things I have nothing but positive things to say about the resort, and would definitely go again, and would highly recommend it to everyone!

The Amazing Staff of Dreams :)

Alivia W on May 17, 2025

The Dreams Rivera Cancun Resort & Spa was overall a great place to have a nice, relaxing getaway. While the accommodations were mostly great, the staff is what made this place excellent. No matter what location you were within the hotel, you were always able to find a staff member that would stick out for the rest of the trip. Our first meal there was in the Mexican Restaurant, where David, our server, and Vincente continuously made us laugh and smile the whole night. The food was also amazing in mostly all the restaurants. Within the Entertainment sector of the resort, Mauricio Chi, Jonathan, and the entire entertainment team was amazing. My boyfriend and I continuously played beach volleyball throughout the entire week of our stay, and the staff made it so fun and so competitive (in a good way)! There were also games to watch that the entertainment team put on, as well as fun morning workouts of aqua aerobics led by Jonathan. On the other hand, the pool concierge definitely stood out in such a fantastic way. Cristian, Jesus, and Enrique honestly felt like our friends at the end of the trip, rather than just staff members. They would give my boyfriend, his family, and me, poolside massages with cold towels, massage guns, and even spray our sunburns with aloe ointment if needed. This treatment was completely free and such an unexpected, amazing surprise (other than their deserved tip of course). They made an effort to know your name and would approach you and have a conversation if we had crossed paths. Their efforts to care for us as guests was extremely noticeable. In the lobby bar, Enrique was such an amazing bartender. His drinks were always perfectly made, and he absolutely made an effort to know your name. Every time I had approached him, he would say my name and give me a big smile. That goes a long ways in my books! Clever in the lobby bar was also just as amazing as well. Again, the staff made the trip. Their care for the guests was unmatched, and you could see it from a mile away. While everything was mostly amazing, there were little things that need to be worked on. The lobby was extremely hot with almost no airflow coming through. My party and I would often sit in the lobby after dinner, but it would tend to get uncomfortable. I think fans would help a great deal. While the restaurants were great, the buffet could definitely have better options for lunch. It was not often our fridge in our room was filled either, but once we had talked to some, everything was quickly fixed and taken care of. The seaweed was also an issue as well, but there is not much the hotel can do about that. Overall, a great stay and a wonderful trip!

Amazing resort and amazing service!

Kiara S on May 17, 2025

We have been to this resort before and the thing that always stands out is the incredible service. The pool concierge team was amazing (Jesus, Enrique and Cristian). They were always making sure we were having a good experience and fun by the pool. Mauricio Chi and his entertainment team were also fantastic and great at getting everyone involved in activities. Great service in all of the restaurants as well. We went to the Mexican restaurant on our first night and our server (David) made the experience a 10/10. Very clean rooms and good A/C. If there were any issues maintenance would come right away.

Relaxing Solo Trip

calicheapgirl (san diego, ca) on May 17, 2025

This was my first visit and a solo trip. I loved the facilities, the food, the service & the proximity to the airport (20 mins). I will definitely return. I really enjoyed the infinity pool and found it quiet and peaceful. It’s right on the beach. It has a swim up bar. I enjoyed a preferred breakfast at Seaside Grill of chilaquiles verdes which they happily made although it is not on the menu. Seaside Grill is right on the beach & next to the infinity pool. For lunch I enjoyed octopus ceviche, shrimp cocktail & tuna tartare at Oceana which is next to Seaside Grill & the infinity pool. Although this is a Dreams hotel it was not overrun with kids & I was able to relax & take naps next to the pool. I enjoyed morning yoga with the visiting yoga teacher at the activities pool. I had a beautiful room 2448 on the 4th floor of the preferred building overlooking the pool and the ocean. It had a balcony with a jacuzzi & chairs & a table. The room was amble & had a bathtub as well. I received welcome amenities of chocolate strawberries, fruits, sparkling wine & rum. Thank you Hernan from the preferred club for the warm welcome & the beautiful room. I attended the tempanyaki show. The steak & shrimp were excellent. The best meal I had was at Bordeaux with Chef Hugo Rebolledo. It was a delicious meal with a main course of lobster & filete mignon. I received a warm welcome from the restaurant manager Eduardo. Congratulations & a warm welcome to the new Executive Chef Luigy Castelli. I’m excited to return & try the new menus.
