Just back from Viva Maya and enjoyed our stay. Family of 6 adults (ages 21-60) with 3 rooms. Resort smaller than most of the others which is why we chose this one but still a lot of walking as we were put in the furthest building from everything. Resort as a whole needs an update and refresh and think this is being done as it looked like some rooms being worked on. However by no means is there anything wrong; place was great and super clean. Check in quick and easy; rooms were very clean with comfortable beds and the quietest and coolest AC at any resort I have stayed. Shower worked perfect with good pressure and temp in all rooms. Buffet is typical style with many choices. The à la cart restaurants were tasty and we enjoyed each one. Book your reservations as soon as you can as spaces are limited. None of our group had any stomach issues and we ate anything we fancied. Beer was always nice and cold, I did not have any of the sugary drinks but the gin and tonic, tequila sodas and margaritas on the rocks were quite nice. Pools very warm but guess that happens with the hot weather LOL; ocean had big waves and was red flagged our entire stay but not a strong undertow. Water warm. Beach had a lot of chairs available and plenty of shade when needed. Seaweed was cleaned up every morning so no smell. Rarely any poolside chairs available as they are not very many, but don’t hesitate to go up to the adult pool as we (all 6) were able to get a chaise or cabana daily, there is a bar too. Best thing; no continuous blaring crap music. It was low key until activities and events started and once done returned to chill music. Perfect balance between party mode and relaxing. Also, most shows and entertainment were really good! 1/2 hour before each show, the guests’ kids did a mini show-super cute. Shout out to Rasmuss in the lobby and Noe in the buffet. Thank you! Overall I recommend Viva Maya. The entire family enjoyed our stay. It has a laid back, welcoming vibe for everyone.

Lovely experience at Viva Maya with Wyndham. Portofino was beyond imagination. My wife and I are expecting twins and, God willing, if we are to have two boys we will name them after Gabriel and Enrique. They have made us feel like part of their family and they are a part of ours. No praise is too high for these two as a team.

The hotel was a bit run down and very basic. They are under going renovations, so there is potential for improvement. The rooms were clean but basic. The AC in the room was terrible and never went below 23.5 degrees. Mexico was in a heat wave at the time with temps in the 40s, so it was a small break, but not pleasant to sleep in. The beds were very uncomfortable but that's personal opinion. The beach is stunning and always a chair available whether you wanted full sun or shade. The pool area was extremely limited on chairs and I found the entertainment around the pool very repetitive. Same dances, same music, same activities. Onto the food. The food was not great at all. We frequented the buffet, snack bar and ate at all the al a carte restaurants offered. The buffet was HOT, only some fans blowing down and the food was very bland. The snack bar was convenient, however; lacked options. EVERY day was the exact same. The cafe in the main lobby had some delicious sandwiches, but again never changed. The Mexican restaurant was the best food all week. Overall we had a great vacation and made the best of it.

We love Wyndham Maya and this is our second visit. The staff are so friendly the services are too nitch and it's right on the beach. We spent so much time in the pool or by the sea. We also had a lovely dinner at the Portofino restaurant and was served by Gabriel. It was absolutely lovely. Well recommended

We enjoyed our stay here... of course buffet can be better, deserts as well. ?? ?? ?? ?? breakfast could be better. And exotic fruits missing.. a la càrt in Portofino was great!
