Hidden Reservation - Charged for a No-Show!
dog98 (ontario) on Nov 23, 2025
To begin, this issue has been resolved after 6 frustrating attempts. I noticed a charge for $705.05 on my credit card for this hotel. I checked my Bonvoy app and online account and did not see any Future, Past or Cancellation for these dates and charges. My account shows No upcoming reservations. I did not receive an email to do a mobile checkin nor an email of receipt showing charges. I called Gateway Sheraton to get the reservation number and explained this. Told to contact accounting, who never responded to calls and messages. After 6 attempts a very helpful lady resolved this issue and my credit card was refunded the full amount. I asked for follow up as to why/ how my app and account did not have anything showing for this booking. Nine received. I hesitate to continue giving them my business. If I do choose to stay at a Bonvoy property I will only reserve the day of my stay.
An extremely overpriced nap

Stayed for one night, only about 5 hours. The lobby was nice but upstairs the hallway was dingy and musty. The room was clean but had bare minimum amenities. We had four people on the reservation but there were only two bottles of water in the room and we didn't get enough towels for everyone, let alone the extras we requested in advance. It was also very noisy, especially for an airport hotel. Despite having a white noise machine on we could still hear doors slamming all night so we didn't sleep very good. Will try the other airport hotel next time we have an overnight layover.
Good overnight stays

I stayed two times, one night each flying internationally. The staff were nice and efficient. The room was large, clean, and had a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had good pressure. The TV had lots of options of live TV as well as streaming your own service account. There is a second deadbolt and flip lock. The elevator requires a room key to operate. The hotel is located off of the departures floor, right accross from the big Canada flag sign fir Nexus, etc security. There are literally no signs from arrivals and I had no idea how to get there when I got off the plane. I found it from trial and error. It is connected to the airport via a walkway (the same one used for the trains). There is a 24/7 Wendy's not far from the walkway on the airport side, which was great to discover after a long flight, arriving late.
Great location inside the airport, bad service, being a member of Marriott does not mean anything

Great location inside the airport, connected by the airport train to different levels. Rooms are fine, very clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, but nothing special, unfortunately they have carpets (so those with allergies like me, we should be careful). Also, carpets (not in very good condition) in the halls. The bathrooms could benefit with some renovations. The bare minimal toiletries. The service was pretty bad both at the front desk and at the restaurant. This is quite an expensive hotel for the service that we got. I am a silver member of Marriott, and that does not mean anything. Not even to have two bottles of water. We had dinner at the restaurant. Food was mediocre and not a good selection of drinks.

Convenient for late night arrival/departure at the airport. Beautiful spacious rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet room requested. Quiet room provided.
