Nice. But not for the beach

pjn1311 on Feb 07, 2025

It’s a beautiful resort. But the ants. Red ants all over. Leave your feet down you’ll get bit pretty good. If you are beach people I’d skip it. We love the beach and it just isn’t the focal point. No beach bar. Chairs very few. No one really on the beach. Poorly groomed. The pool servers try their best to keep up. We are just biased. We like to walk the beach. You’re pinned in between a construction site towards the Hilton (which looked bad) and then towards moon palace. We aren’t complainers. I don’t write reviews. Just want others to know. If the beach is your deal, this isn’t the one Towels. Gone by 9am. They do replenish but it’s just a weird vibe. We liked it. Liked the people by won’t come back. Just an odd vibe

4.5 Stars. Overall good but not 5 star.

I would give Haven a 4.5. I wish trip advisor would allow that. I originally was thinking of giving it a 4 but after reflecting, it deserves a 4.5 as only a few things made it not a 5 star experience. We had the serenity club and our butler, Humberto, was great. He made our dinner reservations and made sure I would have gluten free options. Check in was a bit of a cluster. We had to wait but then when we went to the room and the key didn’t work. Had to go back to check in twice before getting in. Room was nice. Could have used a few fixes but overall very nice. Bed was comfortable. Staff was amazing. They really work to keep everyone happy. I have noticed that where some people have made suggestions on trip advisor, the Haven has implemented. Impressive. Pools - we mainly stayed at the main pool. You definitely need to get a chair early if you want a specific location. It can be loud depending on the location of the entertainment that day. Entertainment - we appreciated the live music through the resort and went to the Michael Jackson show which is the best I have seen in Mexico. Shows are not necessarily our thing but there are plenty of places to go for a drink which I found to be more lively than other resorts. Food - I am typically not a buffet lover except when it comes to breakfast. The breakfast buffet was not great. It seems like everything is too close together and just not 5 star. Nothing is labeled for allergens making it almost impossible to eat there for me. I did ask for help but it was not great or consistent. I would stick to fruit and cheese but the selections were mediocre and the same everyday. If you are Serenity club and gluten-free, I would recommend going over to the serenity club breakfast by the serenity club pool. I think the name is Tahani. You can order gluten-free avocado toast, chilaquiles etc. Favorite dinners - ala carte Japanese and steak house (didn’t have steak though). Pool towels would run out and not super soft or big. They are not the over the back of the chair towels. Overall, I would go back, especially with my new expectations as I think I would enjoy better knowing what I am getting and not getting.

If you’re looking for a great all inclusive hotel Haven is your place. Food, staff and vibe is outstanding. I recommend getting the serenity rooms that they provide . They offer great night time and day events to attend. Definitely returning next year

Amazing time, location, and amenities

Ian D on Feb 04, 2025

Had such a great experience here, I decided to change my flight and extend my stay here another day. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Huge thanks to Sahil, our butler Candido, Mary our housekeeper, and the short haired singing sisters who ended up being our favorite entertainment duo each night they played.

Everything about the resort, the staff, entertainment and the setting was perfect

We had the best 10 day all inclusive stay at Haven. When booking I was skeptical about the location being distant from Cancun (potentially too quiet for us) and bad reviews on the food in the hotel.. we shouldn’t have been worried at all. From arrival to departure we were treated amazingly by the staff everyone is so helpful. Check in was very smooth and we were taken to our room within 15 minutes of arriving. Our room was beautiful! We had a free upgrade due to a problem with our booking to a partial sea view room .. wow the views! The room was huge and we had our lovely maid visit every day and clean to a very high standard. Our fridge and towels were restocked daily. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and the staff made a lovely effort leaving a cake in our room and delivering champagne, strawberries and dips (requested by my partner). A lot of people were celebrating special occasions which was lovely to see. The pools and beach were always a perfect level of relaxing but also lively in the afternoons. The activities/entertainment team were so fun. I loved daily aqua aerobics with Kristina and pool volleyball with Shark Boy. The pool and whole resort for that matter was exceptionally clean. I’ve never seen anywhere so well maintained in my life. For an all inclusive resort there was never any cups or dirty towels left out the staff were amazing at tidying daily. The condition of the hotel in general is amazing it feels brand new! The layout is perfect too doesn’t feel too big but equally a good walk to breakfast in the morning and a lengthy beach walk/run. We walked across to the Hilton and back one morning which was a gorgeous 40 minutes beach stroll with lots of people doing the same. The gym was also well maintained. Food - Always top quality! We are english so perhaps are tastebuds aren’t use to too much spice so we never found the food to be bland like some reviews said. We ate in Satsu mostly as we loved the choices. We also enjoyed the buffet in the evening too, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. The breakfast buffet is something we dreamed about daily, always so fresh and so much choices.. a mimosa station and fresh green juices yes please! There was a wedding on the weekend whilst we were there which would normally result in chaos in the hotel but not in Haven it made the pools and bars more lively which we loved as we got chatting to different people. The entertainment was also amazing none of that cringey all inclusive entertainment you normally get. Moons was surprisingly lively all the time and always put on a fab show even the karaoke. The lobby bar is open all night so we often ended the night there .. the bar team do the best cocktails even at midnight the quality never drops! We booked 2 tours directly through the hotel which went very smoothly. Pick up was on time and the hotel even offered to call you to wake you up in case you slept through your 7am pick up. We did the Tahini Experience which was amazing too. The food was great and so was the entertainment. Similar buzz to what Rosanegra restaurants would have offered but for a fraction of the price. My favourite touch of all was Mocaccino coffee shop! Mt biggest hate is rubbish hotel coffee but the resort had its own coffee shop with patisseries which we indulged in daily. We miss our latte and chocolate chip roll mornings on the beach waiting for the world to wake up enjoying the sunrise. The location was so close to Cancun airport which was a bonus for us as I hate to waste holiday time driving from the airport. The hotel was a perfect distance from Cancun (if you did want a night there) but also away from all the chaos in Cancun where you could relax on a quiet beach with a book. This was our first time visiting Mexico and Haven but definitely not our last we adored every single thing about our holiday.
