Kids club, water park and food!!! 5/5 stars!

suprtif (Buffalo, New York) on Nov 29, 2024

Kids club!!! The ladies that work in the kids club are fantastic. We left our kids (5, 3, 1) in the kids club two times. I requested they message me when my 1 year old woke up, they held her until I was able to get there. My 5 and 3 year old were begging to go back. Very clean! There must have been 5 ladies in there at all times even if there was only a handful of kiddos. Rivera (Level restaurant) Delicious and fantastic staff. Crispin Alexander went above and beyond for our family. We ate there 6/7 nights and there was a lovely variety. Water park! Clean! Multiple lifeguards. Excellent for my kiddos (again 5, 3 and 1) We went here every day. It’s directly next to the kids club so if the weather wasn’t great, we could head over to Kidsdom. We booked this resort mainly because of this water park. So many all inclusive resorts have HUGE slides with height requirements. My 5 and 3 year old could do all of the slides! Level 2 bedroom suite. Soooo wonderful with small kiddos. Everyone had their own space. Two bathrooms was phenomenal. Highly recommend the Level experience at this resort. Our concierge service was non-existent. Useless but we didn’t really need it. Again, for families traveling with small kids, I highly recommend this resort. Most other resorts we looked at were 2-3 times the price with a significantly smaller room.

A great family trip - a true 4 stars

MrPascal (Montreal, Canada) on Nov 29, 2024

Family Getaway at a Massive, Fun Resort – Great for Kids, but Some Room for Improvement We just returned from a family vacation at this resort, and overall, it was a great experience. Our group consisted of 10 people—5 adults and 5 kids ranging from 2 to 6 years old—and there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. Here's a breakdown of our stay: Resort Layout First off, this resort is huge. It's divided into two main sections: the lobby area (which houses the buffet, a la carte restaurants, bars, casino, and theater) and the beach/poolside area (with the beach, beach buffet, pool, waterpark, and game room). The two areas are about a 10-minute walk apart, so be prepared to do some walking. There are also a little train and golf carts available to transport guests, but they’re often full, so walking is your best bet. Room and Location We stayed in Block 30, located on the beachside, which was perfect for our needs since we mostly spent our time by the beach or pool during the day. We only needed to head to the lobby in the evenings for meals and entertainment. Our room was quite spacious, featuring a small living area, which was a nice touch. The room showed a bit of wear and tear, but it was generally clean and well-maintained. The AC was a bit noisy, and the walls were thin, so we did hear some noise from nearby guests. It wasn’t a huge issue, but I’d recommend bringing earplugs just in case. Wi-Fi was strong throughout the resort, which was a plus. The bathroom had a large shower with two shower heads, though it could have benefited from a few more hooks to hang towels and clothes. Waterpark and Activities The real highlight of the resort for our family was the Splash Water Park. It was well-maintained, and the kids loved the slides and water features. It was also a lifesaver on the rainy days! There were pirate shows and pool activities for the kids, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The snack bar by the waterpark offered quick bites and BBQ, nothing fancy, but it was perfect for a fast, casual lunch. One of the unexpected highlights of our stay was the entertainment. We had the chance to see some incredible shows at the resort's theater, and honestly, they were impressive—definitely at a high level. I highly recommend setting aside some time to attend these performances during your stay. The shows were top-notch, and a great way to end the day. We also had a blast at the resort's White Party, which was a fun, lively event. It was the perfect opportunity to dance the night away and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Definitely a memorable experience for anyone looking to let loose in the evenings. Pools and Beach The main pool is massive and beautifully designed, with little islands and a swim-up bar. We never had trouble finding lounge chairs, but I suspect the resort was at a lower occupancy during our stay. It would have been nice to have chair service by the pool, but unfortunately, that wasn’t available. The pool area always had music and some day activities, but nothing too loud or intrusive if you just wanted to relax. The beach was also lovely, with plenty of loungers and shaded palapas. There was a food truck between the pool and the beach offering snacks, but again, no service on the beach. The water had a bit of seaweed, but it wasn’t anything to be concerned about, and the beach was generally clean. Food and Drinks Food was one area where the resort didn’t quite meet expectations. There was plenty of variety, but the quality felt a bit repetitive, and nothing really stood out in terms of flavor or uniqueness. That said, the kids seemed to love it, and there were lots of familiar options that would appeal to them. As for drinks, the selection was basic—no premium liquor or fresh juices to be found—but we did enjoy the Spicy Margarita at the Bargarita bar. We also tried the a la carte restaurants. The Tauro Steakhouse was a standout for us—great steaks and shareable platters. However, the reservation process could use some improvement. You can’t book reservations via the app, so you have to go to the reservation desk between 9 AM and 3 PM. It felt a bit overly complicated and time-consuming. Service The service was a bit of a mixed bag. While no one was rude, we didn’t experience the level of warmth or helpfulness we’ve had at other resorts. A lot of staff members seemed distracted (many were on their phones), and we noticed a few maintenance workers not in uniforms, which gave the impression of a lack of professionalism at times. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it did detract from the overall experience. Final Thoughts Overall, this is a fantastic family resort, especially if you have young kids. The amenities, waterpark, pools, and beach are all perfect for a family vacation. Just manage your expectations when it comes to food and service, and you’ll have a great time. Extra Tips: Double-check your room number and ensure your room cards are properly activated at check-in. We had to return to the front desk because our cards weren’t working properly. If possible, check in online to save time when you arrive. The check-in process is a bit long and can be confusing. Be sure to ask for the flyer with activity schedules and show times so you don’t miss out on anything fun. Would I recommend this resort? Absolutely, especially for families with young children who will love the waterpark and kid-friendly activities. Just don’t expect gourmet dining or top-tier service, and you’ll have a wonderful time.

Good

Entertainment was awesome. Ronny Mercado and the aerobics class were fun. Pool at the Level was clean and the bartenders were awesome too. The room could've been better. It was dusty at times and a lot of mosquitoes even inside the room. Bring bug spray since the bites can be unbearable.

Melia Caribe Beach the Level Amazing Once Again

ChrisWojickToros1 (North Bay, Canada) on Nov 29, 2024

This was my 16th trip to Melia. Once again, Melia Caribe Beach did not disappoint. Melia is my home away from home and always will be. Where do I even start? First of all the property is close to the airport so no long shuttle rides. The property is the most lush and tropical of all the resorts in the area. The pools are all large and comforting. The beach is one of the nicest and largest beaches in Punta Cana. Large and lots of space which never feels crowded. It is a large property, but never feels crowded. The food is subject to opinion, but I have always loved the food at Melia. The rooms are large and spacious with wonderful he air conditioning, large showers and the most comfy beds. The cleaning staff ensure your room is clean top notch every day and you have everything you need. The most important reason why I go is not just because of the beautiful weather and property it is the staff. I always book the Level. It is worth the extra money but I have also stayed in the non level and I have enjoyed it as well. From the moment you walk in the lobby at check in until the minute you leave you are treated like royalty. Isamar, Juan Carlos and Alexis ensure everything is in place at the level reception. A shout out to the friendly staff at the main pool - Domingo Rincon, Juan and Rotar. The Level beach would not be the same without Hilma, Jerkin Castillo, Jonathan, and Juan. They make sure the drinks are top notch and flowing with a smile and lots of joking and laughter. The entertainment team - Sexy body, Juan, Kiara will keep you entertained and moving. The supervisor of all the bars by the beach and main pool Rafael Rondon has amazing attention to detail and runs his staff and the bars seamlessly. Morning breakfast at the Rumba is wonderful being greeted by the beautiful Santa De La Cruz and Ramon Sosa. The Riviera restaurant (for Level) is overseen by the hard working Francisco Diaz. Always greeted with the most beautiful smile Diana, and Dulce ensuring the bar is running the best it can. My concierge Reynardo Sanchez is one of the reasons I book Melia Caribe. His attention to detail is second to none. Rey will make sure your trip is perfect and will assist with anything you need and has the best sense of humor. He is an asset to the Melia property. The bell hops at Melia are the best in Punta Cana. Henry Castillo and Carlos Mateo. I have known Henry for many years. They are professional, polite and always on time. I miss our daily laughs. Henry and Carlos are a definite asset to have at Melia. Will I be returning soon? Absolutely. Don't hesitate to book. Go with an open mind, be kind and courteous with the staff and you will have an amazing time and return many times like me.
