This is the second time at the Starfish Varadero. We recommend the Resort from the Accommodation to staff we've had a great time every time. We are looking at returning in February 2026. I think we have found a go to resort finally. Thanks to All the staff at the Starfish Varadero hope to see you soon

It was the most amazing experience in My life. The resorts is very beautiful. The beach is wonderful. The entreteinment team was very kind with My family, special mention Noslen and Addys the CM they were very Nice.

Ok, this review is hard to write as I have mixed feelings about this resort,, It was my first time going to Cuba and at a all inclusive resort, At check in everything went well, Front desk Staff was amazing especially Barbera ,, we got a upgrade to a premium room right from the start, Unfortunately the room had a fair bit of water come in when it rained as there was a hole in the bottom of the patio door, could not open the patio door as it was off it's rails, Fridge was all rusty, took 3 days to get batteries changed in the safe, Talked to management and they did upgrade us to a Bungalow which was a nice option, The music outside by the main pool, was club music not the cuban style of music, was so loud you could not even talk to the person beside you without screaming, was asked to turn it down a bit so we did not have to yell to the person beside you, he did, but went right back up a few minutes later, he was more concerned with hitting on the women around the bar, we ended up leaving the pool area as did quite a few others, the food at the main pool was a joke,, you literally could count the greasy fries ,,5 on the plate,,no lie, yet the locals would go get the same thing and their plate was full right up with fries, The food at the buffet was awful, seen cockroaches on the display of desserts there, nothing stocked up once the tray was empty, dirty conditions, no gloves on the people serving the food or any of the food workers, not very good handling of food procedures, ,,The food at the 2 restaurants were the same thing everyday, either Fish, Chicken or Pork, that is it, 14 days of that, tends to get a bit tedius, I do not know where the pics came from that shows the lobster, steak or prawns,, did not see either of those while my 2 weeks there, Now that being said,, the staff there were amazing, Odiella was my room attendent for the premium room , she was incredible, always water stocked up, even got hand towels ,, Barbera at front desk extremely pleasant and helpful, always a smile and a wave, she took care of all the items we brought to give to local kids , she made sure they went to the proper reciepients, This was my first time at a all inclusive, so I really did not have any other AI to compare to, but I have travelled enough to know what I like and do not like and what is right and what isn't, I get because of the embargo there will be shortages of items, etc, I can accept that, but when things do not even get a wipe down or certain things ignored, and witnessed this with my own eyes, something is wrong with that,, Most everyone there for staff were good, the restaurant staff were awsome, especially Lovey if that is right,, with his nightly singing, made a great addition to the experience, Will I go back there,, not really sure, to be honest,, if I do,, it will be the people there who would be my reason for coming back,,, Oh and anyone going into town and want a good safe and fun driver, Look for Adonis, see attached pic, his car has AC, you will be grateful, and he is willing to wait while you are dining out, or can be arranged for a pick up time, There was some positive there, I had some of the best sleep on the beds I had, really comfortable, Bring your own travel cup as they have small paper cups, bring your own seasonings, Bring lots of suntan lotion, and bug spray, also any meds and the most important item to bring is diarehha meds, you will thank me lol, With a bit of a effort this resort could be a definate 3-4 star, it is rated for 4 from Trip Advisor, but I cannot see it, with some upgrades and some TLC yes it could be, Oh and it is on the outskirts of Varadaro so you will be paying for cab or car ,, the bus does go by outside of the resort all day, $5.00 US or credit card , you can hop off and on all day till 6:pm. ,, All and all if you are looking for a place for a few days only,,then this is the place, but long term,, look elsewhere and somewhere closer to town,

This was the best trip I've ever had. I loved the service, as all the staff always had a smile on their faces and were very friendly. The coffee at the Spirit lobby bar was the best I've ever had, especially the cappuccino, which is my favorite. I'd like to give special mention to Addys, who helped us and treated us with such kindness. She's a very sweet girl! We'll definitely return next year.

Friendly staff. Beautiful beach and resort. The experience was a beautiful one it was my first time going to Cuba and the experience makes me want to go back. Thank you to the Addy, who not only made you feel friendship, kindness but also made you feel as family.
