First time in this resort. A lot of fun entertaining staff and friendly atmosphere. Very accommodating and the night shows are the best part. The beach is close and has a lot of room for their guests. No disco is on site. Everything else is good! Fun time while it lasted. Older grown crowd

Excellent staff, fun experience no shortage of anything! Celebrating my 50th Birthday here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Highly recommend Starfish Varadero!

I’ve been here 5 days and I leave in 2 days and so far the experience has been excellent, the food is so good and the pools are clean and amazing and the hotel/resort is right by the beach so u can either swim at the pool or at the beach amazing good worker and very good service

Starfish Veradero has been the best vacation I have ever booked. Location wise it’s absolutely beautiful, sunny and warm each and every day. The bungalows and rooms are very well maintained, and all the staff are the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience this beautiful location, filled with beautiful entertainment every night and plenty of food and drinks to keep you occupied consistently. It’s definitely a bucket list stay for anyone who needs to get away from the cold, or just need a place to escape and relax once more. 11/10

We have been coming to Cuba for 8 years now and we come for the beautiful beaches and the friendly Cuban people and so our expectations our set based on knowing that Cuba is struggling right now. We are staying in a bungalow (14-2). It is clean and comfortable. The beds are on the firm side but support very well and we have been sleeping very well. There is a safe that is working (works with your room card), a bar fridge (working) and a smaller TV in the bedroom. There is a first patio off the bedroom (gets a bit of sun late afternoon) as well as another one off the living space (some sun in the morning). The bathroom has a tiled shower stall as well as a bidet. We had luke warm water for the first week and a half but as of yesterday the water is much warmer. My sister was here just before us in the building next door and she always had hot water (she said to let it run for a while until the hot water comes in). The bungalows are very close to both the beach and the pool areas - and a little walk up to the main building. We have met some wonderful staff here that go above and beyond to help make our vacation so enjoyable. Veronica Serrano (at reception) is so friendly - she has been even checking in with us online to make sure we are ok. Barb at reception did her best to get us a bungalow in the area we wanted (with success). The entertainment staff are all excellent and always put their best forward with so much talent no matter the conditions (the main stage area is closed and in need of repairs so the shows are performed near the main bar for now). Eduardo Morales is there from morning (yoga on the beach), afternoon for poolside entertainment and games until the evening making sure everything runs smoothly. Always with a friendly smile! We have never gone hungry coming to Cuba and it’s the same for this trip. Yes there are shortages but there is always something to eat and many times we have been served excellent meals at both the restaurants Spoons (thank you Anita for your welcoming smile and service along with the rest of the team) and Milans. At the buffet you have to try some of the best fish cooked by Ana Belkiss And it’s always so nice to be welcomed by Alejandro as we come in to the buffet. We are not fussy with our drinks but have gotten to enjoy a little Sambucca after dinners (as well as Spanish Coffees) at the main bar from one of the best bartenders Addyel! So for our vacation at Starfish Varadero this year, yes we have noticed the effects of the embargos (food, drinks, maintenance) but we will return to Canada in a few days feeling rested and rejuvenated thanks to the people who work here to make our stay enjoyable.
