Flexible change or cancellation

There’s no fee to change or cancel  flights booked before August 31, 2021

The full value of your cancelled flight will be credited to a Travel Bank, valid for 24 months from the date of issue.

WestJet Vacation packages booked prior to August 4, 2020 can be cancelled with the value credited as WestJet dollars, valid for 24 months; some restrictions apply. For bookings after August 4, protect your vacation with the Travel Protection Plan. To request cancellation of a WestJet Vacations package, please contact us directly.

If you booked through a Travel Agent (online or directly), Corporate Travel arranger, or another airline, please contact them directly.

You can change or cancel your flights online, with a few exceptions:

Call times are high: please call only if your travel is within 72 hours.

Please contact us by phone to cancel, if your booking:

  • was purchased with cash.
  • is for a flight departing within two hours. We are unable to process a change or cancellation to your booking, however, we may be able to accommodate you on another flight.
  • was made with special arrangements – for example: travelling with a pet or a guest that requires the use of a portable oxygen, etc.

Please contact us by phone to change, if your booking:

  • was purchased with WestJet dollars or cash.
  • touches down in more than one city (multi-city).
  • is for a flight departing within two hours. We are unable to process a change to your booking, however, we may be able to accommodate you on another flight.
  • was made with special arrangements – for example: travelling with a pet or a guest that requires the use of a portable oxygen, etc.

For any bookings made via:

WestJet Vacations or WestJet Vacations Groups bookings, please contact the WestJet representative assigned to your reservation.

WestJet Groups, including weddings, conventions, sports or schools, please contact the WestJet representative assigned to your reservation.

An airline partner, travel agency or tour operator, please contact them directly as all modifications must be managed by these partners/agencies.

 

Cancel Check-in Feature

You can now self-serve eligible bookings to cancel your check-in! Simply sign in with your reservation information, select “Cancel check in” and select the guests to cancel.

During, or even after you've checked in, you have up to 1 hour before departure to see which seats are occupied and can select or change your seat. Fare type may affect eligibility and change fees. *Note that flight loads are dynamic and not guaranteed until ten minutes prior to departure.
