Extended Comfort

Extended Comfort is available to all guests who selected an Economy fare (including Basic, Econo and EconoFlex).

When Booking a Flight: 

Select an Economy fare (Basic, Econo or EconoFlex) and then choose to select seats online. During seat selection, you will have the option to select an Extended Comfort seat. 

Post Booking a Flight: 

If you have an existing reservation, you can select Extended Comfort by going to Manage Trips and entering your reservation code and last name. You can also select Extended Comfort through the WestJet App.  

During Check-in 

Extended Comfort can also be purchased during check-in.

Extended Comfort is available for Economy guests to purchase for a fee, regardless of their fare bundle selected (Basic, Econo, EconoFlex). Guests can select an Extended Comfort seat at the time of booking, after booking through Manage Trips and the WestJet App, or at check-in. 

Yes, Extended Comfort is available for purchase to all guests who selected a Basic fare.

Changes more than 24 hours before scheduled departure: 

You will be prompted to select new seats for any segments you are changing. You can also choose to be refunded to the original form of payment. 

Changes within 24 hours of scheduled departure: 

If Extended Comfort is available on the new flight, then you will be assigned an Extended Comfort seat. If Extended Comfort is not available on the new flight, then you will be assigned a standard seat and will not be entitled to a refund for the original Extended Comfort purchase. 

All changes must be made more than 2 hours before departure.

All guests who purchase Extended Comfort are permitted to bring one piece of carry-on baggage and one personal item on WestJet and WestJet Encore flights. Your carry-on and personal items should not exceed the following size restrictions:

Items that do not fit into the sizing device or exceed our carry-on allowance will be considered checked baggage and applicable baggage fees will apply.

Any guest who previously purchased a Preferred seat for travel on or after April 10, will be treated to the new Extended Comfort experience at no additional charge.
