Awesome day at the private island
grace1381 (Kitchener, Canada) on Jan 09, 2026
Absolutelly love it! This was our second time in Aruba and I made a point of visiting the Renaissance private island (Flamingo Island). Since we didn't stay in the Renaissance Resort this time, I had to book the island pass online (every Saturday some passes go on sale for the following week before 9 am...they are sold out shortly after). The island offers a relaxing atmoshpere, wonderful snorkeling, restaurant and a bar, lounger chairs and photo opportunities with the flamingos. Not cheap experience but well worth the money.
Service at Aruba Renaissance

On our recent stay at the Renaissance Aruba hotel, we were extremely impressed by the hospitality shown by everyone at the hotel. Yes, our room was great, food excellent, pool and overall environment wonderful. But, the staff, from front desk personnel to housekeeping were all 5-star worthy. One employee (among many) stood out as exceptionally poised. “Desiree” was the Aquarius hostess on January 1, 2026. It was a difficult position which she handled exceptionally!
Amazing stay would recommend and definitely coming again

Jared , Diane, & Rosalba where the 3 most influential workers at our dining experience at Fresco, they were very friendly and helpful asking if we needed refills made us feel comfortable and our travel adviser Jonathan our navigator advisor at the adults resort area was also very helpful attending to our needs and answered any questions we had and gave amazing recommendations!
Flamingos, Helpful Staff, Comfortable Beds, EXCELLENT!

The Renaissance Marina / Wind Creek Aruba Resort is a really nice resort with two nearby locations (beachfront for families, and adults-only Marina across the street). Both properties allow access to the famous Flamingo Island, where guests can mingle with the domesticated resident flamingoes. A beachside cabana rental is well worth it (about $900US) if you are going with a spouse or family--it comes equipped with a giant cooler of AIX rose wine, some fruit, and water. You can order more food, of course--and at the end of the day they bring a passionfruit sorbet which is a nice touch. But the cabanas provide ocean access via a stepladder into the lagoon and the quickest way to transport you to the Tahitian overwater bungalows they recall. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating--every question is met with a smile and a helpful attitude, and I really commend everyone at the property for this in light of the constant influx of guests (some not very well traveled so I'm sure it's a hassle in dealing with a lot of them!). The Marina property has incredibly comfortable beds and turndown service with chocolates, and sound proof windows (which helped on New Year's Eve!). The breakfast buffet was spectacular and full of variety too.
Hut Tub is Out of Order for Foreseeable Future!

The only reason that I am deducting one star is because I had chosen this resort for the hot tub. Unfortunately, it was out of order for my entire stay and they had no idea when it will be back up and running. I was very disappointed. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant with a swanky adults pool, comfortable room in the adults tower, courteous housekeeping that left me chocolate, and the island with its wonderful flamingos and iguanas. The only other downside is that the island is very close to the airport and it is very loud when planes are coming and going (which happens frequently). The pool and ocean temperatures were comfortable.
