We arrived early in the morning and pre- registered with the hotel. We left our bags at the bell desk and by 1pm we received a text to say our room was ready. We had an ocean view room on the 8th floor with spectacular views of Waikiki Beach and Kalakaua Avenue to watch the sunset on the balcony. The room was a really good size, housekeeping kept it clean & tidy with fresh towels each day. The entrance and lobby of this hotel is impressive starting with a lovely porte cochere, huge lobby doors and a 2 storey aquarium. The staff at the front desk are wonderful and welcoming. The pool and Swell Bar are located on level 5. It’s lovely to relax and watch the sunset at the pool with a cocktail in hand. One thing I noticed, don’t leave your food unattended because the birds will be there in a flash… even if you’re sitting on the sun lounges! There are ABC stores located on every corner of Waikiki and there is one that is just next to the hotel. You can enter right from the hotel which is handy if you need anything. We spent 6 nights at ‘Alohilani Resort and loved every second of it. We will most definitely be back.
Quickie trip to Waikiki

Short break in Waikiki. Alohilani was an extremely comfortable, centrally located hotel. Swell bar and pool area offered great food choices at reasonable rates. Great pool and spa. In pool lounges and private cabanas are only available for extra $$$ rental (and were vacant most of our stay). That was the only bummer. Otherwise, highly recommend to stay there
We Will Not Return

Welcome was excellent. However, the front desk agent checking us in forgot to ask about our daily parking so we had to go back to add the self park to our room card. After a wonderful dinner, our daughter threw up in the car, it was terrible. We had nothing to clean it. We asked valet for paper towels. Valet did almost nothing to help, only looked at us as if we were an inconvenience. One gave us six tissues. Another finally gave us a towel and told us “you can throw it away”. Housekeeping was not called. My husband had to run to ABC to buy paper towels and wet wipes. My husband and I both asked for a large trash bag (valet and front desk) - front desk said they’d send it up to our room and they didn’t know how long it would take (we were outside by valet). Valet continued to look at us as an inconvenience…there was about five of them. In the meantime, my poor tired child with vomit in her hair, had to wait for us to clean in our dinner outfits. As a mom, I just wanted to bathe her and put our kids to sleep. Still with no help and inaction, we left the vomit towel and trash in the valet area. I approached the front desk and they just looked at me like deer in headlights. While walking to the elevator, I passed the cleaner with a big rolling bin who could’ve helped us. We booked through AMEX Hotel Collection, although we are kama’aina. We were stunned by the horrific customer service and lack of urgency, empathy, and complex thinking. Although we enjoyed the service and amenities at Longboard, we will not be returning to the Alohilani.
Sophisticated with great service

Beautiful property with great service. Sophisticated feel. Pool deck is very cool. Great location in middle of Waikiki.
Average hotel - not coming back

We felt this hotel was average at best compared to other places in Waikiki. Crowded, room was noisy, breakfast was subpar, parking expensive. Loud music played in the pool area going late into the evening which you could hear in the room. Also, check the bill - the hotel added some scam fees and tried to pretend these are government taxes; only when confronted, they admitted these are “voluntary fees” and took them off my bill. Not coming back here!
