Very expensive now

Moochie-La-La (Calgary, Canada) on Dec 09, 2025

Be prepared to pay more for less. There is a new GET tax for most services, around 5%. The resort location is beautiful and rooms comfortable. You can’t get away with a typical meal on the property being less than $100USD by the time you order one entree and one drink each. Taxes and tips add onto an already high menu price = ouch. Cheapest/smallest Starbucks coffee in the hotel lobby was over $7USD, for example. They do offer free coffee pouches in the room but they create a weak, tasteless brown liquid. Shops at Whalers Village that you can walk to cater to customers with a lot of disposable income. Hotel doesn’t seem crowded at all, lots of loungers by the pool available if you want to lay out in the sun. The resort location offers great snorkelling right off the beach: lovely fish, coral and turtles to see. Waves are small because it’s a protected beach by black rock. Very nice pool area with nice flowers and fish ponds.

Great Location, Pool underwhelming.

Great location and very nice staff. Big negative is the pool experience. About half the people there this week don’t actually stay at the hotel. Makes it so overcrowded since they don’t enforce the wristbands. single hot tub is packed too. For the money, they really need to fix up the pool and the experience around it. Always been a great spot
