Resort was very clean, well maintained. Beach is beautiful and grilled most of the nights on very clean and excellent grills. Staff were very friendly and helpful and special thanks for Johnny in Security who helped return our missing favorite sunglasses.. Would definitely return!

Wonderful West Maui Resort on the Ocean

Sharon R (Minnesota) on Jan 03, 2026

The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas provided an outstanding vacation for our family reunion. We rented 4 rooms and requested a quiet room, upper floor, partial ocean view and all to be in the same building. The Westin truly delivered with 4 courtyard rooms on the 3rd floor (3 two bedroom villas and one 1 bedroom villa) all in one wing together. The pools, hot tubs, and grounds are lovely. It is great to be on the coastal path and have the beach right there. We snorkeled right by the hotel as well as at Kahekili Beach nearby. The Inu Pool Bar was convenient and we also walked to Auntie's Kitchen, the Castaway Cafe, and Duke's for dinner reservations we had made in advance. The children loved the Christmas cookie and reindeer krispie decorating as well as the balloon twists and face painting. The girls especially enjoyed the lei making class. The lobby with the lovely Christmas tree and soothing music was welcoming. The housekeeping services each day were great also. The fitness center was appreciated and being able to use the pool with the big slide at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Villas was a plus. We would highly recommend the Westin Nanea and are so glad that we chose it.

Horrible stay

RJKCD on Dec 30, 2025

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. My son got injured on our very first full day. His foot was bleeding profusely and he ended up getting eleven, ELEVEN, stitches at a clinic they made us walk to twenty minutes away. You'd think that someone from the hotel would be human enough to offer to help with a ride to the clinic, but nope, the lobby people said that all cabs/ubers were booked and that we should walk. WALK for twenty minutes on a foot that was profusely bleeding. My husband and son then went to the concierge to ask for help and guess what the man told them (December 26 at around lunch time; he was seated on the right side when facing the concierge desk): we can't help you, good luck with that buddy. That's it. No effort made to ask around how my son could be helped. Just, nope I can’t help you with that. This is the same man I spoke with the day prior as to where my kids could safely snorkel. Despite a gazillion snorkeling brochures behind him, he told us to just go snorkeling at the beach at the back of the hotel. The same beach where my son ended up injured. So they made my son walk for 20 minutes to the nearest clinic. You'd think they'd at least check up on my son afterwards. We were there for five more days.My son was bedridden for our entire stay. Didn't hear from them. Not even a simple, how's your son? When I brought this up on our last night, the manager (security) had the audacity to say that we must have refused to call paramedics because he was sure that was offered to us. Are you kidding me??? We would have paid any amount had any of the hotel statt oftered this option to us! Talk about victim blaming. We would have paid anything just to alleviate my son's pain. We paid over $ 1,400 a night for our room (pre tax / fees) and you'd think we'd refuse to pay for the paramedics had you even bothered to give us that option?? Unbelievable. Further, unlike Hilton, they don't offer full daily housekeeping services if you're a paying guest (if you're not using your club / vacation nights). Lastly, on our last night, we had food delivered via Uber Eats. We had an issue with the driver who couldn't speak a word of English. The hotel called a Spanish speaking staff who not only talked down to us but made us feel that we were on the wrong side (we weren't - we got a full refund from Uber Eats as the driver delivered the wrong package). Thanks to this hotel, I’ve grown to appreciate just how wonderful Conrad / Hilton / Peninsula / Shangrila etc are. Westin / Marriott just cares about its profits. No care whatsoever for their guests’ wellbeing. Overall a horrible stay. If you want a hotel that cares about its guests, stay elsewhere. If you are more than willing to pay $ 1,400 a night for horrendous customer service, this is the hotel for you.

First Impression is NOT Good

romadaro (Washington DC, District of Columbia) on Dec 30, 2025

Very nice facility, beautiful grounds/landscaping, clean, well maintained and right on the beach. Basically, everything you’re looking for in a Hawaii vacation hotel. My problem was with the young lady at the front desk who checked us in, blatantly disregarded my status as both a MVC Presidential and Marriott Lifetime Titanium elite member, as well as a note on the reservation that we were celebrating our Anniversary and a request for a high floor room. As a result, she claimed that since we were checking in “late” (6PM is late?) all the good rooms were gone, the hotel was full and all she has left was a ground floor room with basically no view and very little privacy. Obviously, I wasn’t happy but I was too tired to argue after traveling 14 hours across country, so I took it since it seemed I had no choice. My wife was NOT happy and it was a horrible night and way to start a vacation. To add insult to injury, when the bellman delivered our luggage, I remarked about how busy it was when we arrived and he made an innocent statement that we just happened to arrive during a busy spurt but the hotel was only half full (WHAT!!??) and it had been relatively quiet otherwise. Without knowing, he just threw fuel on the fire! The next morning, I called the front desk and asked to speak with the manager and was told that she was in a meeting, but should be available around 9:30, so I told the staff person to let her know to expect me at 9:30 at the front desk to discuss our room assignment. When I arrived, she came out and I explained the problem (without telling her what the bellman had said) and she apologized, again claimed there was limited inventory but said she would see what she could do. Miraculously, she came back less than 5 minutes later and said she had found a room on the 4th floor, closer to the beach and it was ready for us to move to! So, it’s ready at 9AM and wasn’t available at 6PM the night before? I guess she thought I was stupid. What was the point of her staff person obviously lying and causing all the unnecessary stress and anxiety?? It was ridiculous. Later that day, we received a nice fruit platter from the manager with an apology and congratulations on our anniversary. But, at that point, my wife was just disgusted with it all and we were both trying to focus on moving on. Would we go back or recommend? I doubt it.
