Poor quality

Westin is nice, however their spa is poor quality. I had manicure, polish was applied unevenly , too thick in places, it does not dry up after 2 hrs. There were no hand message, yet pricing as for a good quality manicure in Orange county USA My advice do not get manicure there.
Family of 5 Xmas vacation
Zev A on Dec 25, 2025
We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 boys 10-16) and stayed at the Westin in 2 adjoining suites for 6 nights over Xmas 2025. The hotel was as or better than any other all inclusive we’ve stayed in (beaches, hard rock, melia, etc.). The resort is good sized but feels pretty intimate and is kind of built into the jungle. Lots of lizards and even some monkeys around. The food and evening entertainment options were all pretty good. The pool was huge and a lot of fun and it was never hard to find seating. The beach was…fine. Soft sand but the waves were just a little calm for me. Excursion-wise, we mostly booked with a local vendor, Erik Garcia. He’s always on the beach in a blue Google shirt. He is super responsive via WhatsApp and I found him to be really trustworthy and efficient. He also has a website that can be found really easily. We did a zip line/waterfall trip through him and also booked a surf excursion with him as well. We played a round of golf at the resort course. It was beautiful and a lot of fun. Overall, the Westin was a winner.
Excellent staff, nice pool, decent resort
fromMTL (Toronto) on Dec 23, 2025
The staff at this resort are courteous, professional, and friendly. They also run a tight ship re cleaning (rooms, pools, grounds), gardening, activities (exercise, yoga, hiking, biking, etc.), and reception. There are roving drivers for those who want a lift to various places on the resort grounds. Each dwelling on the property had eight suites with separate entrances. The suites are spacious, with desk, coffee and fridge table, couch and coffee table, two separate closets, spacious bathroom, and spacious sleeping area (king bed or two doubles) with TV. Please note there is a step to get up to the sleeping area, in case you have mobility issues. Maybe the rooms are a bit dated as noted in some of the other reviews, but I can't say that was the first thing that came to mind when I walked in, so perhaps not wildly outdated. The room is nevertheless well maintained and clean. The rainshower and handheld shower were fine, though a higher temperature on the water and slightly more water pressure would have been appreciated. This was something we noticed as multiple people in our party staying in separate suites at different dwellings on the property. The water, sodas, cookies, tea, coffee were regularly replenished if needed. I appreciated the possibility of 5:45 AM room service on days we had early excusions. We enjoyed spending time at the main pool. We were there in mid-December and it did not feel crowded. I walked by the Westin Club pool on the way to one of the restaurants, and that looked nice as well. The beach is an easy walk from the main pool. Yes, there are vendors there, but they're absolutely polite and we were unbothered by them. Indeed, the massages we had by one of the vendors (blue table) unaffiliated with the resort were what we needed after a hike or cycle. The food was... fine/okay. Maybe the nicest restaurant was Faisanella. We agree that the reservations were difficult to come by for the restaurants that required them, having been only successful at securing two reservations over the week. We learned too late that the reservations only open up for dinner the day of at 8 AM. Finally, the resort grounds are very walkable. We appreciated the flora and especially fauna roaming about.
This is an Amazing Resort

We were there for a week in mid-December. The weather was perfect, with only 5 minutes of a light sprinkle all week. This was a getaway trip for my brother and me, and it gave us exactly what we wanted. It is a beautiful sprawling resort, very well-kept, right in the middle of a georgeous beach. Seven restaurants with very good food and fantastic service, a really nice pool with lots of chairs, a range of activites, entertainment every night, and nice rooms. While I did not get to play the Robert Trent Jones course, it looks great and I spoke to someone who really enjoyed it. I highly recommend Erik Garcia (on the beach in the blue Google shirt) for excursions - ours was great!
Incredible Family Vacation

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Westin Reserva Cochal All Inclusive Resort. The resort is a sprawling estate located just 1 hour from the Liberia Airport, nestled on a beautiful bay, and filled with amenities and activities that were perfect for a family traveling with young children. With seven restaurants on property, two large pools, a golf course, and an activities center with daily events, you truly would never have to leave the resort. We spent more than half of or trip going back and forth between the pool and the beach from sunup until sundown and it was incredible. For the other days, we took full advantage of the beauty and adventure that Costa Rica is full of. We did excursions with volcanoes, waterfalls, zip lining, hot springs, crocodiles, monkeys and so much more. We even caught a beautiful Mahi Mahi just off the coast of the resort. We want to give a big Thanks to Erik G ( guy in the blue Google Shirt) for all his help in making our vacation so incredibly memorable.
