Ticks the Boxes

Fantastic hotel particularly if you are focusing on Universal Parks. Convenient shuttle every 10 minutes to all Universal park destinations, the early admission is a saviour, especially if you want to get a chance of queuing for a reasonable time for one of the big thrill/new rides. We checked in with May and she was so charming and gave us so good intel about the hotel/park amenities. We have stayed at volcano bay before but prefer here due to it's smaller size and although the dining options aren't as varied we found the food quality much better here by comparison, very fresh (but waiting a little as made to order). Slight downside is the room does lack privacy if you are prudish! Would consider the two bedroom next time for our family of three. The cleaners are so friendly and efficient rooms replenished everyday without fail. Overall a fantastic hotel that ticks the boxes. We're still here now and don't want to leave ! Thanks Surfside ??
Good stay, family orientated, in the Universal bubble

Hotel is perfectly situated in the Universal bubble for easy access to the parks, shuttle was timely and easy to find, staff were very friendly. Lots of families stay here, the room was a good size, clean, there are 5 of us(2 adults, tween and 2 children) and the 1 bedroom suited us fine, has the basics you need like microwave, toaster and coffee machine. Lots of shops and places in walking distance for food and groceries. The only issue was intermittent hot water for showers, otherwise I would definitely stay here again and is a decent budget option for families.

This is just an okay hotel, we ran into a few issues that took it from good to just okay. The toilet ran off and on all night, you could hear music from the pool on the 5th floor past 9 pm. The room came with 4 pillows for 4 people, we requested an additional 5 pillows and we were brought 3 pillows and told that there were no more pillows available.
Fantastic family stay & will definitely return.

Fantastic stay and would definitely return. We stayed at Dockside last year and thought we would give Surfside a go. As a family, the Surfside definitely suited us better as it wasn't as busy as Dockside. We had a suite and especially loved the size of this and having a separate bedroom. Staff went above and beyond for us, and check-in was very fast. We have previously stayed in Cabana Bay/Dockside, and this hotel was definitely the best for us. We enjoyed being able to get out and about, and this year, we used the I-Ride trolley, which saved us a lot of money not using Ubers. The only thing that we found differently was sharing the Universal shuttles between Surfside/Dockside. This didn't work. Some days, we waited 40 mins just to get to the park as a bus would pull up and still be extremely full as it would drop off then at Dockside. Even Thanksgiving week, they still ran the transfer like this instead of keeping them separately like the previous years.
Great for Girls Trip!

This hotel was great! Took a girls trip to Orlando for Disney, Universal, Horror Nights, and Epic Universe. Surfside was clean, the staff was helpful, and the 2 bedroom room was plenty of room for 4 girls that like to overpack. The buses to and from the Universal parks were great. Didn’t have to wait too long. The Starbucks in the lobby was a great perk for me. The price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay here again!
