Cheap, never again
melody2angel2 (Pooler, Georgia) on Feb 26, 2026
cheap, cheap , cheap. disappointed especially for a Loews hotel and a Universal Hotel. the room i stayed at had no bathtub. The shower was all glass, no railings, and the hot and cold weren't marked, so i got hit with hot, hot, hot water. and there were big bottles or shampoo and conditioner. no little bottles. you have to scroll to find out the different channels. and i filled the coffee cup and put the lid on, the cup flattened, with hot coffee. i no longer trust Loews or Universal Hotels.

Ruined My Vacation

i was really looking forward my trip. Going to all the Universal Theme Parks, especially the brand new Epic Universe. but i was lying in bed and my back started itching. The hotel moved me to another room, but for the next 3 days, i was still scratching. and didn't get a good night's sleep. i placed a wake up call for my Epic Universe visit , i didn't get the call, picked up the phone and the line was dead. Almost made me late for the shuttle. It wrecked my whole vacation. I was so disappointed.
Great Hotel

Our family enjoyed the Surfside Inn and Suites. The people we encountered at the front desk area were helpful and kind. The hotel was clean. The rooms were tastefully decorated. We appreciated the space the "2 bedroom" suite offered our large family. The hotel is within walking distance of some restaurants. The shuttle service made it easy to get to the parks. We never had trouble finding a parking spot and this was at a very busy time of year. It was convenient to have a pharmacy across the street for things like distilled water for a family member's c-pap machine. A son left a few rings on the desk in our room. We didn't realize this until days later. The hotel was super organized with their lost and found procedures. This required communication between housekeeping, security, the management. And it required honesty. Thank you, Surfside Team, for helping us reunite with our belongings. The only area that I would love to see improved is the Beach Break Cafe. Tastier, healthier options with better signage for those with food allergies would be a wonderful upgrade.
An amazing Universal hotel in Orlando

We had a suite at Surfside which has a separate bedroom It was perfect It gave our son privacy. The room is big with plenty of space for luggage Main area had drawers and the separate bedroom had a small hanging space We made use of the fridge & microwave The housekeeping just refreshes the room so the bathroom wasn’t thoroughly cleaned but toilet roll & few toiletries were replenished We were extremely impressed with this hotel compared to others we have stayed in Orlando. I didn’t think we would be spending a lot of time in the hotel but unfortunately, my husband was ill. The food was excellent, freshly made and tasty and reasonably priced. Also, all the staff were really friendly & helpful. The Starbucks staff were the same & I wished we had their efficiency in the UK As this is a Universal hotel, the buses to the theme parks are included. The buses start really early to City Walk & are frequent. The buses to Epic start later but it’s worth getting in the queue early due to its popularity Overall, I would not hesitate to stay in Surfside again. It’s smaller than Dockside and I think that makes it easier with lifts and buses etc
