Not a mirage

After staying in the sub par Embassy Suites down the street last year, my wife and some other moms from my son’s travel baseball team went looking for other options. The embassy wasn’t that bad but I’d sleep in the dirt. Anyhoo… let’s start with the staff. Everyone of the staff we encountered was so nice and helpful. From the bellhop to the valet( even though we conveniently self parked) to the house keeping team to the spa team( they let me go in the steam room a few minutes after hours, shhh) to the front desk. The room was spacious and the beds were comfy. We had decent views even thought we looked across a rooftop. The decor reminded us we were in Palm Springs with cool photos in the also spacious bathroom. It has a plenty big pool. Decent poolside food. There’s cornhole, ping pong and a foosball table. There’s an arcade but my son said he needed $20 bucks to load a card. Not happening. We stayed from Tgiving day to Sunday of that weekend. So the Christmas decorations were already up. I’m usually against early Christmas decoration set up but these were tastefully done. Check out my video of the palms. Very cool. We had an evening to just chill with the team and while we were hanging out around one of the fire pits a guy ( Jason) showed up with a hawk! He let Tex the Harris Hawk fly to each of us. It was a cool unique experience. My son loved it. We’d stay here again for a large group event for sure.
Beautiful Resort with Mountain Views, Friendly Staff, and Great Amenities

We had a wonderful stay at the Renaissance Esmeralda! The resort has a great mix of relaxation and activity. One of the highlights was the tennis court, which also has pickleball court lines taped—perfect for either game. The best part is that the racquets, balls, and paddles are free to use, and you don’t even need a reservation. The courts were almost always empty, which made it easy to play whenever we wanted. Our room was extremely spacious and quiet—we never heard any noise from other guests above or beside us. We had the large balcony room and it was a real treat, facing directly over the pool with an amazing view of the mountains. It felt quite private and was the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening sunsets. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always greeting us warmly and quick to assist with anything we needed. The only downside was that housekeeping was quite slow—our room often wasn’t serviced until 4 p.m. or later. Also, be aware that if there’s a conference taking place, a large section of the pool loungers may be removed to make space for outdoor dining and event setups, which can limit poolside seating. We also loved that the resort offers free bikes for guests to use. You can take them anywhere in the area, which made exploring so much fun and easy. Overall, a beautiful, relaxing stay with great amenities and outstanding service—we’d definitely come back!

The Esmeralda was a very fun hotel. It has an arcade multiple restaurants, a sand area of the pool free pools multiple bars live music escape rooms. spas a kids club and multiple activities a day for any age to do. The food was good but average the wait times for food varied but whilst waiting you could play ping pong outside. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotel is gigantic though so if you have any disabilities, I wouldn’t recommend it since there’s a lot of walking and it’s very big and hard to get to certain places. The location is good for the area my only issues with it were the food even though it’s good the wait time and the mediocrity of the food just makes it one star less it isn’t the fanciest hotel but it still isn’t a bad cheap one and if I was in the Palm Desert area I would go again
2+ Decades Of Great Memories

I have dozens of stories to tell over the years of the good times my family had at the Renaissance Esmeralda in Indian Wells. Give me one of those rooms on the sixth floor with the pool view, 620 I think was my favorite room? The kids enjoyed the Sandy Beach and grew to enjoy the whole pool in general. The staff at the pool bar has always been The best, in the old days they would remember us even though we just came maybe once a year. I’m at the age now where I prefer vacationing without a bunch of kids around, but this place is an exception. It’s just one of my favorite chill spots in the greater Palm Springs area.
basic experience, for overly priced resort.

overall experience was okay not excellent. Our room was nice and clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. A lot of hidden fees upon checking out. Just felt overly priced for mediocre experience. It was more about what they can charge you for instead of being more accommodating. Also If we didn't pay attention to all the charges, we were getting charged twice for parking per day. The pool and bar area is nice if you get there early and save a spot, the drinks were great. I would not stay here again though.
