Calm and easy

Everyone on the team was genuinely kind and attentive, and you could feel the good energy throughout the hotel. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable to spend time in. One of the most entertaining parts of our stay was being surrounded by wildlife! spotting crocodiles, coatis and spider monkeys was such a unique and fun experience, it really made us feel connected to nature. The cenote was absolutely magical: peaceful annd quiet, even though the water was definitely on the cold side. The only small downsides were some construction noise during the day and the bed, which could be a bit more comfortable. With a few small improvements, we’d absolutely love to return.
Romantic escape

We had an exceptional vacation here, truly one of a kind. This resort feels very different from the usual ones, much more intimate, private, and peaceful. It’s incredibly romantic, the perfect place to reconnect and share special time with your partner. We loved every second and would absolutely come back.
Material non-disclosure, severe decline, and loss of identity — loyal guest will not return

This was my fourth stay at Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel, and unfortunately it will be my last. The resort has deteriorated to the point where it no longer resembles the secluded, nature-immersed luxury property it once was. The most serious issue — and one that should absolutely be disclosed at booking — is the large-scale construction project immediately adjacent to the resort. A seven-story hotel is being built roughly 20 feet from the property boundary, with cranes, exposed concrete, and rebar clearly visible across multiple guest areas. This fundamentally destroys the “boutique,” private, in-nature experience that historically justified the price point. The construction was not mentioned anywhere prior to arrival, and this omission materially misrepresents the current guest experience. Equally concerning is the overall state of neglect across the property. Compared to pre-COVID stays, maintenance and upkeep have clearly fallen well below acceptable standards for a luxury resort. Specific examples: The property is overdue for maintenance in multiple public areas. Core experiences were fully booked on arrival (yoga, Amber restaurant) with no warning, poor capacity planning, and no meaningful alternatives offered. Service at Aguamarina was unacceptable, with slow, inattentive service and food quality well below prior standards. Insufficient sun loungers for the number of guests — an entirely avoidable operational failure. The spa is in a visibly dilapidated state. The hammam was not operational, and parts of the spa area appeared abandoned and should not have been accessible to guests at all. Taken together, this stay did not feel like a luxury experience — it felt like a property being allowed to run down rather than actively managed. For returning guests who remember what Blue Diamond used to be, the contrast is stark and disappointing. At this point, the combination of undisclosed construction, declining service standards, and lack of reinvestment makes it impossible to recommend this resort. I would strongly caution management that continuing to rely on legacy reputation while delivering a materially inferior product is not sustainable. I will not return, and I would urge prospective guests to think carefully before booking unless and until the construction is complete and the resort demonstrates a clear commitment to restoring the quality and identity it once had. (Photos attached clearly show the proximity and scale of the construction.)
Simple Yet Comfortable

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times, which made everything feel easy and relaxed. Food was good and well prepared, and the location is convenient for enjoying a quiet getaway. Overall, a nice place to rest and enjoy a few peaceful days. There was some construction going on, but we barely noticed it and it did not affect our vacation at all. It’s obvious that this is not a brand-new hotel, and some areas could use a bit of paint and extra care. However, despite that and even with so much surrounding nature, the place is very clean and well kept. For me, these are the most important things when choosing a place to stay, and this hotel delivered on all of them.
