It's a no go

We booked our stay at Henry Morgan Resorts with high expectations, paying a 50% downpayment as early as August 1st to secure one of the better/newer rooms, as well as booking our flights in advance through the hotel so we could get convenient flight schedules. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Despite our early request for a specific room in the L wing we were told it was unavailable and were instead assigned to different room . The receptionist assured us she was "moving heaven and earth" to place us closer to the beach, yet the room we received was far from acceptable: extremely humid, no towels, no clothes hangers, and overall poorly prepared. To make matters worse, once we checked in, we saw that room we had requested was in fact empty, and multiple wings of the resort (including the E rooms near the entrance) were vacant, despite staff insisting the hotel was "overbooked." (seems to me they just didn't want to clean additional rooms) Transportation from the airport, which the hotel arranged based on our flight itineraries, which was directly booked by them, arrived nearly 30 minutes late. On top of that, even though we specifically tried to book midday Thursday flights and late Sunday return flights, we were forced onto the earliest flight out on Sunday morning and charged an additional $80 per person. Breakfast wasn’t even available at the time of our departure, making the added cost feel unreasonable and unfair. Cocktails also weren't great, the Miami Vice tasted like a milkshake, and it seems like they ran out of ice when even the Bahama Mama barely had any ice cubes in it and was frankly barely cold. Overall, the experience did not match the “VIP” service the resort claims to provide. From misleading information about room availability, to inadequate room conditions, to poorly organized transportation and unfair flight arrangements, the stay felt frustrating and disappointing. For the price and promises made, Henry Morgan Resorts failed to deliver on even the basics, let alone a VIP experience. If you have been offered the VIP experience please disregard. West Bay and the beach at least were good as it's pretty hard to mess up and ruin a beautiful looking beach!

The worst resort we have been to! Despite making a reservation (package including flight and accommodations) three months prior, when we arrived they didn’t have a room assigned to us. They put us in a great room on the beach “for one night” with plans to move us the next day. Apparently that room had been “booked for months” and we couldn’t stay there for the week. Well, the whole time we were there it was occupied 1-2 nights and then empty! The next day they moved us to a horrible room that was RIGHT beside the disco. Even with noise cancelling headset, I could hear the karaoke and disco! My partner went and slept on the beach! The next day we requested a move. We were told “no” by the reservation agent (not the front desk staff but the person working from home in charge of booking reservations). I took my complaint to our travel agent, who took it to a WestJet rep…they too were told “no” to a room change. Finally the amazing man in charge of entertainment, George, had us moved a few doors down. Still noisy but somewhat bearable. They do LOVE the cruisers who invade the resort whenever there is a cruise ship at port. Gets even busier. So three room changes. No sleep. Loud. Busy. When we returned home, I put in a complaint to HR Morgan. Two months and still no response. Staff on sight were great. The office staff/administration don’t care about your satisfaction.
