Appalling Experience, Dishonest Management
Matt R on Dec 29, 2025
Appalling Experience, Dishonest Management This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had—made far worse by dishonesty from management. The night before our arrival, I personally confirmed our room details with the manager, Asif. We are a family of 9, including 5 young children, and I was very clear about our needs. Had we been told there would be an issue, we absolutely would have changed hotels. After driving four hours to Vancouver, we arrived only to be told at check-in that our rooms were spread across multiple different floors. There was no advance notice, no explanation, and no attempt to honor what was clearly confirmed the night before. We were misled—plain and simple. I am a Hilton Diamond Member and have stayed at hundreds of Hilton properties over the years. I have never experienced anything like this. This level of poor communication and lack of integrity is unacceptable, especially for a brand that prides itself on service and loyalty. What made this experience even more disturbing was witnessing the manager’s behavior toward other guests. A woman and her young son simply wanted to sit together and eat dinner in the dining area. He told them they could—but warned that if they made any mess at all, they would be charged. The tone was cold, threatening, and completely inappropriate—especially toward a child. This hotel is being run without care for guests, families, or basic hospitality standards. Under the current management, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families or loyal Hilton members. Extremely disappointed.
Couldn’t be happier with this hotel!

Couldn’t have been happier with this hotel. Close to central services like the metro a few blocks, supermarket and central Vancouver. Room was clean, fresh and had a great corner view where the curtains opened across both sides of the room. Bathroom had a walk in shower which was fantastic and air con / heating was great. Reception staff super friendly and went out of their way for us. Breakfast is offered also. Free wifi
Nice Location for City Hampton

Good location for this Hampton city style hotel. Easy walking distance to the river where you can catch the Aquabus ferry to many places. Modern, but needs a little update. Comfortable rooms, good staff.
Fantastic Hampton Inn

I stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites for three nights while visiting Vancouver for the first time. I was able to take the Skytrain from the airport and get off at the Center City Station and wheel my luggage a few blocks (all downhill) to the hotel. Great location close to BC Station, loads of great restaurants, and the Aquabus. I have reviewed many Hampton Inns and this may be my favorite hotel of all of them. I stayed in a King Suite. It had two rooms with a small kitchen. It had a nice size refrigerator. Everything worked great and I had no complaints like previous reviewers. Two TVs and a great bathroom. In fact I found the bed and pillows to be above average and full sized not tiny pillows. There is a small workout room with foosball, ping pong, and a whirlpool hot tub. This is also a great vantage point to see BC Stadium from the 16th floor. I found the breakfast to be above average but having actual real silverware and plates put this Hampton Inn above all of the other ones. It was a game changer. Also I found the food to be better than any food in the United States at a Hampton Inn. Maybe food in Canada tastes better. But the best thing was the staff. Reiko and Asif at the front desk were both amazing. They helped me navigate a strange town and helped me get a taxi to the airport at 4am in the morning. Next to Chicago this is probably the best Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in my life. I would definitely stay here again. I loved Vancouver.
Great Place to Dtay in Downtown Vancouver

My second visit in exactly a year. Great downtown location on Robson Street a block from the stadium. Easy walk to almost everywhere including Costco. Tons of fast food, semi fast food and proper eating places may open late. Strongly recommend getting the suite with full kitchen as it is spacious and costs only a little more. This is especially important if you have children or planning to sleep four. The kitchen is clean with two burners, a large microwave and a full size refrigerator as well as dish washer along with soap. Cups, glasses, plates and silverware all provided along with pots and pans. A large dinning counter with chairs. Bed is comfortable along with nice medium firm pillows. Good in room climate control. Bathroom is quite small typical for Hampton but more than adequate. Two robes provided but no slippers. Two large TVs one in living and one in bedroom. Free breakfast is Hampton Inn quality - 4 out of 10. There are too many great eating places around to waste your stomach on high school cafeteria food. Registration staff based on my two visits differ greater based on age. Young ones are extremely nice and helpful. Older ones are stiff and joyless ?? One gentleman on my combined 10 night stay NEVER cracked a smile. The 16th floor gym has a hot tube and ping pong table. Clean and airy. In summary, a very enjoyable place to stay if you can look past the low quality Hampton Inn style free breakfast and not so Hampton Inn style room rates. I repeatedly return to this facility because the suite with full kitchen is so good it is worth putting up with a little downside.
