Great Place to Dtay in Downtown Vancouver

Keith T (Danville, California) on Sep 08, 2025

My second visit in exactly a year. Great downtown location on Robson Street a block from the stadium. Easy walk to almost everywhere including Costco. Tons of fast food, semi fast food and proper eating places may open late. Strongly recommend getting the suite with full kitchen as it is spacious and costs only a little more. This is especially important if you have children or planning to sleep four. The kitchen is clean with two burners, a large microwave and a full size refrigerator as well as dish washer along with soap. Cups, glasses, plates and silverware all provided along with pots and pans. A large dinning counter with chairs. Bed is comfortable along with nice medium firm pillows. Good in room climate control. Bathroom is quite small typical for Hampton but more than adequate. Two robes provided but no slippers. Two large TVs one in living and one in bedroom. Free breakfast is Hampton Inn quality - 4 out of 10. There are too many great eating places around to waste your stomach on high school cafeteria food. Registration staff based on my two visits differ greater based on age. Young ones are extremely nice and helpful. Older ones are stiff and joyless ?? One gentleman on my combined 10 night stay NEVER cracked a smile. The 16th floor gym has a hot tube and ping pong table. Clean and airy. In summary, a very enjoyable place to stay if you can look past the low quality Hampton Inn style free breakfast and not so Hampton Inn style room rates. I repeatedly return to this facility because the suite with full kitchen is so good it is worth putting up with a little downside.

Nice mid-range hotel let down by mediocre service

Tarick00 (San Francisco, California) on Jul 20, 2025

The good: - Modern, clean room - Central location, pretty walkable - Blackout curtains worked moderately well: floor-to-ceiling windows so some light leaked through, older-style curtain pull rods, 3.5/5 rating for blackout - Water pressure was good - Able to connect HDMI cable to TV without much trouble The bad: - Wi-Fi access point in our room didn’t work and repeated calls to guest services resulted in no action; speed in the room was never faster than 10 Mbps up/down - Housekeeping was unreliable — despite calling several times to have them come by and tidy up the room, we often returned to the room to find it untouched - Waiting for the elevators was tedious and there are no guest-accessible stairs to use instead - A/C controls were finicky, often resetting when we left the room, but it did cool the entire room to the requested temperature - Bathroom wasn’t super clean when we got there and had not enough surfaces to put stuff on, not enough towel hooks, and water would splash out of the shower (but this wasn’t too bad) - Hard water supply - Carpet felt a little grimy

Nice sized twin room on 15th floor with two queen beds. We were travelling with our two children (12 and 14) so the added space in the room really helped. We stayed three nights and maybe we were unlucky, but @The Weekend@ were playing at the FC Whites stadium which our room overlooked. It was a loud concert and including teh support act went from 7 pm to 11 pm. This didn't bother us as we did not go to bed early, but I can imagine someone in he hotel would have been a bit annoyed by teh volume. Actually, having access to the open air sun deck on the 16th floor was a bonus as we could enjoy elements of the concert up there for no extra charge. It seems we weren't the only guests taking advantage. The breakfast was complimentary and consisted of the usual North American buffet options, but if you timed it wrong, you might have to wait a few minutes for seating to become available. A highlight for our kids was the fitness suite on 16m, which included a whirlpool hot tub, fitness machines, weights, a fussball table and a table tennis table. The vending machine up there was out of order, although tere was a water dispenser/bottle fill. That said, the water dispensers on the floors with the ice makers were colder than the bottle fills.

A Great Stay!

aaronmshelby (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) on Jul 17, 2025

My Dad, friends, and I stayed here for four nights before departing on our Rocky Mountaineer trip towards Banff and Calgary. This was the perfectly situated hotel for all of our wants and needs. We were given a corner room on a high floor with a great view. The terraces on the roof also have wonderful outdoor space for you to overlook the city and enjoy the weather. The rooms are comfortable and provide a great night's sleep. The location cannot be beat with direct access across the street to BC Place. Breakfast was always served up in the morning and the front desk staff were always ready to assist with a smile!

A good base for exploring downtown Vancouver

Adrian C (London, United Kingdom) on Jun 25, 2025

We stayed for 3 nights in downtown Vancouver and were very satisfied with this hotel. Located right next to the BC stadium and Rogers arena and just a short walk to the Chinatown subway station. The room was of a decent size, while the beds were comfortable allowing us to sleep very well. We didn’t notice much noise outside despite a match taking place at the stadium one evening. Breakfast was pretty good, with plenty of hot and cold options.
