We had an amazing time! We were celebrating my daughter’s 25th birthday and everything was perfect. We stayed in the third building and had a wonderful ocean view. We loved everything about this trip and will be back.

Beautiful resort getting back up to speed after being closed for renovations for many months. A few small issues here and there but nothing spoil a day or even an hour. Great food great service and well taken care of.

We stayed 7 nights in mid-January after they re-opened from their remodel. We stayed in a Preferred Club Oceanfront Master Suite with Private Pool, and our experience was far from the high price or 5-star expectation. Issues started from the moment we checked-in: • Our room had a pungent mildew/sewer smell. The preferred club’s resolution was to give us a dehumidifier and use my homemade bug spray as air freshener. • Our private pool was cold and dirty with construction debris for most of the stay – even after asking it to be cleaned multiple times. The day before check-out, it was finally cleaned and we also realized it was supposed to be heated. • There was a private event staged on top of our room, with concert-level sound checks starting at 3pm, amplified music through 11pm, teardown noise through midnight. There was little empathy from the resort staff when we complained. • Ongoing construction in adjacent rooms and walkways – drilling, painting, ladders, trash everywhere. • Food was mediocre, at best – including uncooked shrimp at dinner. • The morning we checked out, we woke to a cockroach in the shower. Our concerns/complaints were dismissed by resort management. They did offer to move us with less than 24 hours left in the stay, which was useless. We also attempted to resolve these issues directly with Secrets management, Hyatt, Expedia, and Capital One Travel, which proved to be a waste of time. For the 15 years we have been visiting Playa Mujeres at other resorts, we have never experienced this level of operational breakdown and disregard for guest experience.

Been going to Secrets Playa Mujeres for the past 7 years, staff is like family to us now. Recent room upgrades, and resort upgrades are great, still more work to finish up, but very nice. Love the sunrise every morning from building 3

We had a nice stay. I wouldn't say it's worth paying for the Preferred Club given it's off the beaten path. But the restaurants were wonderful, and you can go to the Dreams' restaurants next door (very short walk) and they added variety to our dinners!
