Hotel was nice, room service is pretty slow, all of the staff are very nice especially Paola and Gustavo and the rest of the bar staff in the adult pool

This is not a place for fun people. A few times we came to the pool and there was no music. The pool manager said the DJ was on break. I offered to connect my phone to the Bluetooth speakers. There’s no reason for a pool to be dead silent at a resort with this theme and price point. Children should not be allowed at the swim bars. Unacceptable. I don’t recommend booking excursions with PH experience through Nexus. I recommend you use Viator or Costa Rica Excursion Tours who you can find on the beach right outside of the pool area, they’re not performative, they have better options, and are more personable. The food was generally good, breakfast at the Mexican spot was the best, the buffet had a good selection and rotated themes daily. Hibachi was a huge disappointment the beef and rice was awful. Not sure how you can mess up hibachi but here you have it. I should’ve stayed at Riu, which was cheaper, I’ve heard Riu is more fun, and has adult only sections. Star class wasn’t worth it for us and Don Julio is not included in the premium liquor. We never met our concierge and there was nothing they could do for us that we couldn’t do for ourselves EASILY. The star class pool is a joke, quite, there’s no action happening there just a bunch of people getting suntans. If you’re looking for a chill spot then this is the place for you because it was clean beautiful and quiet, but if you’re looking for any kind of turn up, then go somewhere else. We’re from Chicago.
