Decent family experience during holidays

Duke F (United States) on Feb 18, 2026

Stayed the week prior to Christmas. Hotel is massive. A true NY style hotel with all the hustle and bustle. I requested connecting rooms twice and although it can't be guaranteed, still a bit disappointing they couldn't make it work with thousands of hotel rooms and the face that I am titanium. Lounge was nice. Will return. Have to set my bar low.

Stranded in New York

Riki747 (Wilmslow, United Kingdom) on Feb 18, 2026

This was an unexpected trip to New York as my flight, like thousands of others, had been cancelled due to the storm that hit the US at the end of January and I was "stranded" in NY for 2 days. The Marriott Marquis is a very large hotel (2000 rooms) located right on Broadway and Times Sq, an excellent location from which to do the tourist bit. The lobby is on the 8th floor and check in was friendly, quick and efficient. I went for a King Superior Times Sq View Room which was a very good size for a NY city centre hotel room at 35m2 -lots of other hotels would call it a "junior suite". It has a huge atrium lobby with a central lift shaft and glass fronted lifts and at the top is The View, NY's only rooftop revolving bar/restaurant ( 48th floor?) -best experienced at night. I opted for the buffet breakfast ($50) -all the usual options, fruit, cereal, eggs potatoes danish etc.... but the dishes containing the food tended to be stacked high so not only did it not look appealing (it's not a school canteen) but unless the food was being used up quickly (particularly in the middle) it would clearly get cold -at $50 i expected better. The service was good but the quality of the (buffet) food was below par for this level of hotel. In summary it’s a typical large city centre chain hotel -functional and does the job with the benefit of being in a great location and apart from the disappointing buffet breakfast it was an enjoyable stay.

It is certainly a good location for a birthday trip

Came to see the city! The elevators were cool, and appreciated the coffee locations but the rooms was lacking.

The Best of New York City

PhotoAGC (Orlando, Florida) on Feb 15, 2026

In the heart of it all, just a step outside to all the action Broadway has to offer in Times Square. The hotel team does a tremendous job; from a timely check-in with Lili, to the M Club breakfast and snacks service with witty commentary by Peter, supported by meticulous housekeeping that makes you feel like a VIP. I will definitely be going back, it was a little too freezing to stay outside much in early February. The photos below are of the room we stayed in, the Executive Suite 1 Bedroom with a Times Square view, on the 45th floor. Room 4538 to be exact.
