Westin experience

Another fabulous stay at the Westin which, in my opinion, should be renamed William. What a star that man is, don’t ever lose him guests will leave in droves. He is the reason we come every year. Having said that the all the staff deserve thanks The stunning Gingerbread House is a sight I will never forget. Thanks again
Best hotel near the park.

We loved our stay here! Hotel had all the right amenities and it was close to the park for a quick walk. Sarah who checked us in was so kind and helped us with getting a park view room for our 25th anniversary. She went above and beyond in service. Highly recommend this hotel and we'll be staying here anytime we visit Disneyland.
Busy conference hotel

This is our second stay at Westin Anaheim. We stayed at this hotel as a family visiting Disneyland on both occasions. We are Marriott Titanium elite members, booked the hotel through AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts program and received a small upgrade to a slightly larger studio suite. Our most recent stay was right before Thanksgiving, so the hotel was a zoo. I would summarize our stay as typical of a busy conference hotel. We received a welcome gift consisting of 2 Pellegrinos, 2 oranges, and 3 macarons. Pros: -Brand new hotel with updated aesthetics. Room feels clean, bright and heavenly bed is truly heavenly. -Dinner at the rooftop restaurant Rise was a pleasant surprise. Food was reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity. Our bill was a little high because we ordered too much food, not knowing their plates are humongous and meant to be shared. -The hotel is an easy walk to Downtown Disney. There is a monorail pretty close to the security checkpoint (across from the Lego store) that’ll take you directly to Tomorrowland. -We ordered room service and food was really good. Cons: -Towels were rough and very scratchy. Robes were provided but no slippers??? Shower water pressure was irritating. Typical Westin White Tea amenities were provided in refillable bottles except for the body lotion, which came in an extremely small 1 oz plastic bottle. That felt really cheap and insufficient for a family of 3 in the dry So CA weather. Comforter was extremely heavy. -There was no desk in our studio. The only place to sit down and work was around the dining table, except there were no plugs anywhere near this table to charge our laptops. -We had to wait 15 minutes for a table at breakfast, even though the restaurant was only about 1/2 full and there was no line at the buffet. They charge $33/person for the breakfast buffet, and if you want an omelette, that’ll be extra. If you want a latte, that’d be extra, too. The spread is very similar to what you would find in a typical hotel lounge. Therefore, even though our package includes breakfast, we didn’t bother to go back after the first day, as we can get similar food at the lounge without the wait. -The VIP lounge is very small and gets extremely busy during breakfast. Breakfast spread is decent and comparable to the full priced restaurant downstairs, lattes included. I didn’t try the evening canapé, but outside these two time frames, the provided beverages and snacks leaves a lot to be desired. In conclusion, this is a 4 star hotel, with 3-4 star experience. It is the best hotel in the immediate Disneyland area but it is way way overpriced for what it is,
Meh on the morning staff

We *love* the Westin mainly because the walk to the parks and Downtown Disney is ridiculously easy. Normally, this place is an automatic 5 stars for us. But this trip started with a less-than-magical welcome from Jessie Lynn at the front desk. It was around 9 AM and we just wanted to drop off our luggage. I walked in from the far side of the parking lot opposite from the valet and I was literally the only person there. Jessie Lynn looked up and then looked right back down. No “Hi,” no “I’ll be right with you,” not even a polite nod. Just awkward weird vibes. After what felt like the world’s longest 3 minutes, she finally acknowledged me but with the most put-off energy. Look, I don’t need a red carpet, but a tiny smile? A little warmth? Something? Hospitality is kind of the job. I stayed polite, hoping maybe she was just having an off morning. She didn’t explain things clearly when it came to benefits, amenities and parking, and didn’t mention that bell services would actually deliver our bags to the room which would’ve saved me a whole back-and-forth since we were enjoying the day at the parks. Just a very confusing, very unimpressive interaction overall. **BUT! The rest of the staff absolutely redeemed the stay. Housekeeping was awesome they even brought a microwave to our room when we asked. The afternoon/night crew! Amazing. Smiling, helpful, quick to take care of anyone who walked up. Tangerine restaurant staff….super polite and quick. On our last day, I chatted with a gentleman at checkout who turned out to have in-laws from my hometown. We laughed and he was just a light hearted relatable guy. He was even giving recommendations on the bougie Puesto tacos to another guest who he made laugh during their short convo also. Then Sarah kindly checked us out, handed me two bottles of water for the road and sent us off with actual hospitality. Imagine that! So yes, we’ll be back because the location and the hotel are great but maybe Jessie Lynn could shadow the night staff for a shift or two. Just saying.
unoppenable pudding jar rescue

Karen and the front desk staff helped me open a defective pudding jar. They were very nice and had a fun time taking turns trying to open it. Thanks y'all!
