Not a luxury hotel and ROOMS ARE HOT!!!

allrg88 (San Antonio, United States) on Aug 06, 2022

Pros: (1) Close to California Adventure and Downtown Disney (2) Restaurants on site> Flemings and Puesto are excellent (3) Hotel is brand new especially relative to the other hotels nearby (4) Comfy Beds: the legendary Westin beds are comfy (5) Rooftop bar/patio is great for adults without kids Cons: (1) Rooms are hot. Thermostats have motion sensors that turn off when sleeping and away from park. Thermostats have no VIP or override mode. Can't hack these (2) Glass enclosed showers are rare. Photos are misleading and provde impression you will receive one if you rent. Nope. Most of the nicer rooms that face the parks with the balconies have tubs. The tubs are messy and fairly small. (3) Roof Top bar/patio stops serving food after 10 pm. Rooftop is not open all days of the week. (4) They don't answer the phone: Room service and getting in contact with front desk can be hard. We called at 10 to order room service and was hung up on 3 times (it times out if no one picks up) and wait 15 minutes before someone picked up to place an order. (5) Room Service menu is limited and not really child friendly. The standard cheese pizzas, pasta, deserts and other kid friendly fare that you see at Disney hotel and other Bonvoy properties were not there. (6) Amex Fine Hotels policies were not really honored. Room was not ready by 12 pm. They had plenty of rooms, they were not clean and not anticipated in advance. Never received an e-mail from the hotel concierge in advance like you do with other hotels booked through Fine Hotels. No gift or other items were given. $100 resort credit can't be used at Flemings or Puesto. Breakfast credit can't be used for room service even if you order breakfast. Standard internet included but not the fast one. You are better off booking directly through Bonvoy. (7) Valet service is slow to retrieve vehicles. Missed dinner reservation because they took 20-25 minutes to bring car. Valet attendants don't volunteer to assist loading bags and strollers in car. It was hit or miss. Some did but most didn't. They just stand by the driver door and watch you load your car. (8) Club or Lounge is mediocre. Size is small. Food options were not great. Nothing close to resembling the lounge at Disney's Grand Californians and other properties. (9) Check in process is lackluster. Lines can be long. Don't acknowledge your Bonvoy status openly or try to point out the perks and benefits. Ashley the manager is sweet and very friendly. None of the other front desk employees smiled; had a motel vibe. Our room was reserved for 2 nights but I ate the cost of a night and chose to spend my second night at the JW Marriott. Should have listened to my friends who are Ambassador and Titanium. All recommended JW and Courtyard over this hotel. The hot rooms especially make this place not worth staying at IMHO

Everything is great!

Stayed in for the weekend. Great location, Disneyland is walking distance that is why we checked in on this hotel to begin with. Great experience from the start because we were assisted by Brian as soon as we arrived at the hotel and Ashley is very helpful and informative when it comes to recommendations within the area. Hotel has a very distinctive scent that I love and also our room is huge compare to the ones we stayed in before. Plenty of restaurants close to the hotel. There is Keurig in our room with starbucks pods which is a plus. Will definitely coming back on this hotel next time.

Wonderful hotel

Kztravel3 on Aug 02, 2022

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff make the property excellent. The clerk at the front desk was extremely helpful. We were given an upgrade for platinum status. We had access to the lounge which has fantastic views and wonderful food. William in the lounge made our stay fun and memorable. He was fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a few extra blocks to the parks, but WELL worth it!

Every detail of this hotel experience is MAGICAL and AMAZING!!

We just left the Westin Anaheim from a 5 day Disneyland family vacation. We came in tow with and infant and 2 toddlers, 3 adults and were more than impressed with the cleanliness, size of hotel and rooms, Westin smell :), front desk assistance, upgrades, food options within the hotel, pool and LOCATION!! We were met by Diego at the front desk upon check in and were surprised with an upgrade to a King sweet with connecting Queens for our family. That gave us all the room we needed with cribs, 2 strollers, and an abundance of luggage. Diego met EVERY request we had from the moment we walked in the door. Thank you Diego!!! You started us off with pure Magic. If you have status with Marriott, you are welcome at the club level and it's open all day for treats and small bites. William, who monitors the morning breakfast hours is Wonderful ! He has all kinds of helpful tips for where to go, how to get there, and so fun!! Thank you for doing the dishes William! Our rooms were cleaned daily and everything was always spotless! It was an easy walk to Disney! It really took us about 20 minutes with 2 strollers and 3 kids, but we enjoyed every minute and all the chatter about Disney experiences. The hotel is a great location for anything you are doing in the area. The pool is a generous size and we never felt crowded out. The pool bar and food was fabulous. We loved the kid meal options at Tangerine and the quality was amazing! We will always return to this hotel for any stays in the area! If you have status with Marriott, they do care and did accommodate late check out, etc.. whereas so many other resort hotels always say NO.. to requests. It was such a wonderful home away from home, for a very busy vacationing family. We loved walking back from the park mid afternoon for naps, swimming and the 4 o'clock snack hour at the club level. Then we were back to the parks. BTW.. the parks are really crowded right now, and mid afternoon breaks from the heat were welcomed! The valet staff was fun and always helpful. They hand out cold water bottles on your way to the park, and you will need those!! Thank you Westin Anaheim for our wonderful family vacation experience!!

Great Location for Disneyland

Stephanie C (Marblehead, Massachusetts) on Jul 29, 2022

We had a great stay at the Westin for our trip to Disneyland! Highlights include: swimming pool and hot tub with great hours, hotel room and amenities, front desk and hotel staff, and proximity to Disney. Beds and the shower were great after a long day in the park. The wardrobe has lots of room to keep your stuff organized and off the floor. In room coffee Keurig and mini fridge also came in handy. Loved that they had two running routes mapped (3 and 5 miles) though we didn’t take advantage of them. During our staff we at dinner at the Tangerine Room, breakfast at the Blossom Market, and did the self-parking. If we were to go it again, I’d order take out tacos from Puesto or pizza for a relaxing family pool night. We chose the Westin for it’s walking distance to Disney (~20 min), good reviews, and great deal through Trip Advisor. There are lots of food options at the hotel, but you’ll need a reservation for the roof top deck. The only downside is that you could be anywhere - so if you’re looking for something a little different, this isn’t your place.
